It took me a long time the night before to come down from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers first win of the season. I went to bed late (or early, depending how you look at it) and woke up to do laundry. It was a casual Saturday. I decided to leave the apartment in the afternoon. I placed my order for a free diet root beer through the A&W app. I was also hungry, so I ordered a late lunch. I chose this A&W at Southdale Square to pick up my order. It took me roughly seven minutes to drive over here. My order consisted of these items: - English muffin sausage and egger - Diet root beer - Apple pie I hit the drive-thru. I got a friendly female voice on the other end. I indicated that I had a mobile app order and stated my name. She found it and said that I was good to proceed to the window. Yay! I got the nicest woman hand me my diet root beer and food. I thanked her and wished her a great day. She reciprocated. This plaza has a lot of parking. I parked a few rows away from this eatery and ate in my rental vehicle. My sausage and egger hit the spot. It was delicious. I was a happy camper. I washed it down with my diet root beer. It was cold and probably tasted even better because it was free. I loved my apple pie. The food was well cooked and very good, it has not changed since I was last in a McD's. In other words, they are known for consistancy. I dined in and ordered at a kiosk mainly because ALL of the staff were Asian and none of them had a good grasp of the English language. I'm not being racist, I'm calling it the way I see it. I stood behind someone before going to the kiosk and he had to repeat his order 5x for them to understand AND it took 3 McD's staff standing there to try to understand him! I placed my order without issues, walked over to the pickup counter and it was ready in about 4 minutes. That was very efficient although I also got caught in the language barrier. First there were four staff very close to the counter and they all ignored me. Eventually I had to call out loudly for assistance. A manager came over and I said that the kiosk app did not allow me to order extra onion, could they do that? I had to repeat myself twice. He said that could be done. Before he came over he was speaking an Indian language to all of the back staff and when he finished with me he went back to that language. I have no issues with other languages, however, it's not one of Canada's official languages. I really don't understand why they must communicate in their own language AND why they must speak so fast and loud. Anyway, service was fast, food was good, the restaurant was very clean and a young man was mopping the floors when I was there. I even found a clean table which seems to be rare for most fast food restaurants. I would go back to this McD's, although not often only because it's not really on my list of favorite places overall. SIDEBAR: Isn't it hillarious all of the one star reviews here that the reviewers only have 1 review? In other words, they only review this McD's. All of these one star reviews are hack jobs to discredit this store, but of course, Yelp doesn't see it, their algorithms and AI don't see it. Go figure. In my opinion, the REAL average score for this establishment is closer to a 4. When is Yelp going to REMOVE the one review hack reviews AND more important why do they continue to have an average score based on scores from when the business was first listed. There are very old reviews. It's not fair for any business to have an average based on reviews more than 1 year old.

I got a buzzer that would signify that my order was ready to pick up. It had my favourite number on it, so I knew that all was right with the world. I found a table to sit at. My phone was running low battery-wise, so I had it charge thanks to my power bank as I sat there. It didn't take long for my order to be ready. I saw and felt the buzzer go haywire on the table. I brought it up to the front to exchange it for my tray of food and a drink. I thanked the woman and happy enjoyed my late lunch. I love the pineapple quencher. Sure, it's sugary, but I don't have it often. It's cheerful and yummy. It's like liquid sunshine in a cup. The burger steaks with rice were delicious. It's my go-to meal. The burger steaks were yummy. I loved the mushroom gravy that I mixed in with the perfectly steamed rice. It's comfort food. It's a habit for me to get a side order of spaghetti. I loved the sliced hot dogs in it. The spaghetti was al dente. The sauce had a tangy sweetness to it that was enjoyable. If you need to use the washroom, you must get the access code from a staff member. They are separate stalls and are constantly maintained for cleanliness. I saw staff check them out three times while I was there for an hour. Although you're probably not supposed to get a refill of Diet Pepsi after purchasing a pineapple refresher, I did. I needed to wash down my main meal and get to the peach mango pie. No staffer said anything, which was nice. The peach mango pie is different at Jollibee locations in Winnipeg compared to the one that I frequent in Scarborough. The pie is cheaper in price. The crust is thinner and less doughy. It's crispier. This pie is so good. It was packed full of peach mango filling in every bite. This eatery has a drive-thru. I'll need to try it out next time just to say that I've used it to place an order. It was nice to try a different Jollibee eatery while in Winnipeg. I have one more location remaining before I can say that I have visited all Jollibee locations in the city. This Jollibee restaurant was clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. I've had the Blueberry Yum Yum, Delicious n' Tasty Cheddar, DMT Bacon Cheddar, The Golden Boy, Blue and Gold, and the Obi-Want Pierogi burgers here, and have enjoyed every one of them. It is pretty pricey here so keep that in mind. You're probably spending close to $20 for a burger, fries, and drink. I'd say to support local businesses every so often it's worth it, the food is certainly worlds better than a typical chain burger joint. I try and make a stop here at least once a month because I love this place so much.
