After receiving 2 filling due to cavities I was in serious pain but was told it should go away in a few days. 2 weeks later I'm still waking up in extreme pain and discomfort. We made another appointment and came in to talk about doing more work on my teeth but they don't accept my insurance. But I was glad to pay out of pocket and told them. That was the whole reason we came here because they told us to come in for a consultation. I was then told by that they could not accept me because if the government found out that they did work on me they could get in to trouble. Wait! What!? Now remember I'm deaf but my hearing girlfriend was there to interpret for me and we both sat there in shock about this information. My insurance is not Medicare or Medicaid. But I am being turned away for a reason I still can't wrap my head around. Because we were told they would get in trouble by the government if they found out North Star did work on me. Right before we left the agreed to at least look at the tooth that was causing me so much pain. I will say they were very helpful in trying to find me a dentist that might accept my insurance. As well as a specialist to perform a root canal. We did appreciate them at least for genuinely being helpful in that regard. I walked away sad because this was the place I honestly felt at peace with and wanted this to be my go to dentist.

I had been looking…read moreforward to my appointment for almost 2 months, then an emergency came up, and I have no vehicle, so I called more than 24hrs before my scheduled appointment (promptly after becoming aware of my current situation) to cry for a reschedule, and the very 'manner-of-factly' secretary just kept preppily explaining, "well that's our policy and you were aware of it, bc it is in your paperwork, so we'll be billing you $50 if you decide to cancel/reschedule at this point." I looked at my forms, and it does specify that you must make changes prior to 48hr window, but NOWHERE does it state that you will be billed for $50! No where! I can't believe how unhelpful this office staff is. I don't miss appointments that I schedule, and I am very punctual! I own a business and work full time, and make my appointments. This was an extenuating circumstance, and I was nicely asking for help. Now I am completely uncomfortable with even going (which I'll have to Uber there or find a ride-as a 32yr old grown woman), and have never felt so triggered or violated by having to go through with an appointment at an office that clearly doesn't value it's patient more than the almighty dollar bill. Dentistry in Ohio is hard to find quality care from. I NEVER had such an issue back in California, and I am no snowflake. But to have to go through with this appointment now and not want to be out $50 (bc let's face it, who can afford that), it's such a violation, and it makes me feel sick to my stomach. Michelle told me "No".) When they called after the appointment, I gave them the info that I had for the new cards (the same info my husband gave to his dentist and everything was fine with them). Then maybe 2-3 weeks after our appointments Michelle called me with the worst attitude, absolutely zero customer service. I was completely taken aback that someone would call one of their customers and treat them like this!! I decided that we were changing dentists and then actually received a note in the mail asking us to leave them. Talk about shocked!! She called them right away, was able to see them right away, and was blown away by the experience. Flash forward to about a month ago when I ended up having to find a new dentist. By evidence of the documentation this business set me they: applied incorrect secondary insurance claims and rolled my adult children's costs into my account. This business has all necessary information to determine my adult children have their own insurance and that my secondary insurance was not to be applied to their accounts as they are not covered under my insurance. * There is NO evidence you have sent a claim to my primary insurance; there is no record of payment by them. * They should have separated out each patient's account/billing and amount owed. * They should not have credited inappropriate accounts with my secondary insurance.

Throughout the worst part of the pandemic, he was able to be seen in this office - he waited in the car until they were ready for him. But now that cases are falling and things are finally getting better, all of a sudden they decided to discriminate against him. When Maureen, the office manager, called to *cancel* his scheduled cleaning, she acknowledged that Dr. Conley was aware that the governor's mandate said that mask exemptions were to be honored by businesses - but that they just didn't want to do it. It's medical discrimination and patient abandonment. It's a horrible way to treat someone who physically *cannot* wear a mask - to deny that person needed dental care. It's an even worse way to treat friends who have recommended your practice time and time again, and who have had a lot of work done (and paid a lot of money) in your office. We are beyond disappointed in Dr. Conley's lack of compassion and her unprofessional behavior.
