This is one of those instances where you really want to do business with the local place but it's like they're not even trying to attain or keep your business. Unfortunately plants weren't labeled as to what they were (sun, partial, shade) or height/ width and very few had signage to even the name of the plant to google. I know next to nothing about plants and would have loved some help, but even the person I did find essentially said to ask someone else for help. I ended up at Little Red nursery on 34th where the owner is on site and willing to help. read more

DO NOT SHOP HERE!! Their prices on soil/compost/mulch are already 2-3 times what they are at Lowe's for the same product, and they'll up that at the register and pretend they don't know the price. What would've cost me about $70 somewhere else cost me about $160 here, half of the increase being inflated prices and the other half being a mysterious markup at the register. Not sure how they have any customers under these circumstances but they've certainly lost me and everybody I know. read more

I have come to Mary Lee twice and both times I did not receive any help. The first time I had to go looking for someone to help me, and after I found someone and asked for some guidance for plants that would grow well in my yard they said I should come back the next day. I went back yesterday and walked the whole nursery and not one person approached me to see if I needed help. read more

I love shopping here for plants. All the plants that I've bought here are in great condition and none have died. Mary lee has great variety and all the plants are sold for great prices, each time I've shopped here I'm always surprised at the total (much less than what I think it would be). read more

I agree with other posts here. I too had to find someone to help me find ground cover (nothing's marked--including most prices!). When I asked for help the lady looked at me like I had snakes coming out of my ears!! End result, I bought 8 plants 4 days ago and 6 are now dead. Keep up the good work Mar. read more

So sometimes the helpers are sparse. Go to the cashier and ask for help if need be. The plants are amazing, and I find varieties here unavailable anywhere else. Mary is "Mother Earth" herself - so warm, so knowledgeable, and an angelic demeanor. The quality is unsurpassed, and the plants are selected for our climate, unlike stuff at the other stores that should have never been introduced here, either due to zone hardiness or pH sensitivity. The staff at Mary Lee has always been available to answer my questions and frequently offer assistance unbidden. If plants I'm Interested in look sub-par, staff answer my questions about this and help me find some in better condition. Plant condition normally varies throughout the day in all shops and I've observed Mary Lee staff working hard to keep all plants in as peak condition as possible.
