From what I observed, the attorney repeatedly failed to consult the client before taking significant actions, including initiating communications with opposing counsel after the client had clearly requested that strategy first be discussed privately. Those boundaries were disregarded rather than respected. Billing practices were also troubling. Charges accumulated quickly for decisions and communications that the client was neither consulted on nor agreed to, and requests for clarity were met with defensiveness rather than transparency. Most concerning was the attorney's response to the client's experience of assault by her ex-husband. The issue was minimized in tone and substance, in a way that felt dismissive and condescending, and that reflected a broader pattern of diminishing women's experiences of harm.
