It is a shame that the pool has been closed for a number of years, but I understand the reason as it primarily due to the running costs. All the staff I met were great. Slight problem was that my credit card hadn't been requested to add extgras, this was rectified later. I paid for a stocked minibar, it appeared to be chargeable to the room any items removed. It ws only just before checkout that I found that this wasn't the case. The signage in the fridge was confusing. Nevertheless a good size room and a comfortable bed. Although, my wife complained about the hard pillows.....I didn't find them to be a problem. I'm sure the hotel would have rectified them for my wife, if she had asked. I was recognised as a Diamond Elite member and breakfast was therefore included free of charge. The breakfast offerings were great, unfortunately, I didn't see the porridge in time and had cereal. Not the end of the world. Would I stay there again? Yes.

Stayed here for a few nights whilst on business and the rooms were very well furnished with satellite tv and internet access. Car parking is free and you should be able to see your car from your room as its quite a small premier travel inn in terms of rooms and the space it takes up. Maids were friendly as were the reception staff. Managed to get the room in a sale so it cost very little and i was pleasantly surprised as to the quality and service. Great convenient hotel.

We've had two stays at the Derby Lodge and received the best service of any chain style hotel that I've ever stayed at. Staff were always ready to help(including when my OH sprained his ankle and they supplied ice in a complimentary tea towel as an emergency measure), arriving late for breakfast on bank holiday Monday(having thought it was the same time as the weekend) the staff made sure we had plenty of choice still and didn't rush us in any way. Breakfast, though continental, is great including good bread and pastries plus organic yoghurts, surprising at the low costs they charge. We stayed on a deal including one night free on both visits-meaning 3 nights cost us altogether under £105.

We got a family room for four with breakfast under £90 which was a a bargain. The room itself was large and tastefully done with a good size bathroom. It had two sets of pillows - firm and soft and came with a good night guarantee. The breakfast was served at the Beefeater practically attached to the property. The breakfast was a fantastic one with lots of options of hot and cold dishes. The staff were extremely friendly and distributed colouring book and crayons etc for the kids. We requested for a table of right as we had friends with us and they accommodates us inspire of being very busy. A whole raft of features including online check-in, directions as text and a 24hr reception were quite useful. Close proximity to Tamworth Town Centre meant that good access to the number of local restaurants in case you wish to eat Dinner elsewhere however the Beefeater is a pretty good option as it does have a full bar! Overall a good decision to stay here and we got what we were hoping for. 5 stars because I couldn't fault anything and we got what we were hoping for. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to crash for a night after spending a day on your feet running after ultra-excited kids!
