My wife and I used Mary's for our wedding cake and just recently purchased cupcakes to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. The cupcakes were great. I really like their cake and the frosting is sweet. I can eat their cherry chip cupcakes everyday, for the rest of my life. I would say that they are average to somewhat expensive, depending what you purchase. If you don't order something in advance, you might want to arrive early, so they don't run out. The store also has cake decorating equipment for purchase. The store is always clean, and there are plenty of individuals working. The display cases for the cookies, cupcakes and candy are relatively small in comparison to the building. The service was great when we purchased our wedding cake there. There was very limited communication needed in the process and they showed up on time the day of the wedding. The only reason I'm giving Mary's a 4 out of 5 is the wedding cake had a slight lean to it, which wasn't a huge problem read more

We picked up a large custom Star Wars themed cake for my son's 5th birthday just hours before the party was to start, and 30 minutes before Mary was to close-up shop for the day. It sat securely in the trunk enroute to the party, but mid-left turn a few blocks away, a small box slid across the trunk and smashed into the top layer of the cake! We zipped back to Mary's (this time with the cake in the front seat) and THEY FIXED IT! Incredible cakes, incredible service and bakers and decorators who put off quitting time to save my son's cake! In my opinion this is the best Cakery in Mid Michigan. We've tried two other cake shops in the area, both were over priced and the cakes were dry and basically inedible. Mary's Cakery is decently priced with many options available. Their cake artists are superb. I've had multiple birthday cakes from them that have yet to disappoint. I ordered my first cake from them this summer and it exceeded my expectations. Their cake is moist and delicious and the buttercream is amazing. We also stop in on a regular basis to snatch up some frosted sugar cookies because...why not?! All in all they are a fantastic bakery. Stopped by for the first time today. I have always heard that this is a great place to stop for a sweet treat or for baking supplies. Today I got both. The moose tracks cupcake is amazing! Definitely a keeper if you like pb&chocolate. Their selection for baking was great. Some prices were right around what you would pay at Walmart or Michaels, some things were a little more expensive. The cake was delicious, as always, and looked very nice. I picked it up the morning of the baby shower and had very little time to waste (or complain). I took a picture in when I ordered it and asked specifically for baby blue frosting and grey booties. It was mint green with white booties. It was the only green item at our shower. I come here for the frosted sugar cookies. They are the best I have ever had, everyone loves me when I pick up a few. They are so good it's crazy. I had a special cake for my friend's divorce made here one time too. I did a quick sketch to give them and it came exactly as I wanted. Was even cheaper than I thought it would be.
