I didn't feel like a huge chicken lunch -- or really, anything fried, for that matter -- so after reading the reviews here, I decided to go to La Crepe du Jour for lunch. There was only one woman making the crepes, and she was working hard. Two other people were helping with the orders. I got the crepe with turkey, spinach, bacon & cheese (I forgot what it's called) and it was pretty good. The only things that were disappointing were that I thought it was a sit-down restaurant (but obviously, I stayed anyhow) and that the iced tea was a little old and not quite icy enough for me. I've actually never had crepes that were folded like these were; I'm used to the traditional almost omelette-style fold. Going to this place was an absolute delight. I just wanted to have a quick stop but the customer service was so great that I decided to get a few crepes instead of just one and decided to get drinks for my family instead of just a coffee for me. I remember the girl's name was Kallie and the reason I remember it is because we bonded over how people pronounce our names different than how they're spelled. She was such a breath of fresh air, and as a business owner, I would be delighted to have someone like her work for me. She was gracious to give me my ice coffee and let us take our time ordering. What a hidden gem! Absolutely love the crepes! I haven't had a gluten free crepe in so long and it was so good. Luke and Cali were so helpful in placing our order. I don't have a picture of the monte cristo and sierra crepes we had but they were phenomenal. I also ordered the strawberry cheesecake with almonds instead of graham crackers and cinnamon ones and they are delicious. The gluten free batter is vegan too and you honestly can't tell. Cute little crepe place in the shopping area of Frakenmuth. It's a casual place, no alcohol. You order at the window then get your order when it's ready. They have several tables you can eat inside or on a patio outside. They have a nice selection of both sweet and savory crepes, coffee, soda, etc. We tried the Athena crepe which is turkey, feta, hummus, spinach, and the monte Cristo crepe. The Athena tased really good, the crepes here are handheld, and more like a sandwich though than a thin crepe. The Monte cristo was decent. Overall a cute place for a bite, not your traditional crepes but good overall. They were very busy when we went (Saturday afternoon), and had to wait a half hour for our crepes so maybe try going at a not so busy time. read more

This is the place to go! It was so delectable that I wanted to return for dinner. My mom and I stopped here to fuel up to start our day. She got the Sierra crepe and loved it. We got gluten free only for them to use the same tools they would for gluten which really makes zero sense to me. Then when I corrected them on it they told me it was my fault for not directly stating it was an allergy when they were so good and attentive the first time. They remade the crepes but they were highly undercooked, soggy and very gross. I'm not sure they really knew what they were doing because it looked like they had a hard time cooking the crepes. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place by all means :( Our family stopped by La Crepe du Jour for lunch on July 7, 2022 during short visit to Frankenmuth Bavarian Village. It was a huge mistake! We would be better off getting a bite in some other place nearby. I don't know what kind of batter they used and how many days they kept it in the fridge but the crepes were absolutely tasteless and hard like a thin piece of wood. The fillings were good but it didn't save the overall taste of crepes. We ate few bites and rest went to garbage. Just terrible experience. Not sure how they could manage to spoil such a simple thing as a crepe. I suggest folks from La Crepe du Jour kitchen just go online and take a simple crepe batter recipe from there. The food was delicious. I tried the walking omlett and was very impressed it was cheesy and full of flavor. The service was kind and attentive. The only problem I had was despite being first in line once they opened I had to wait for 40 minutes for my food. The reason was they had a large order placed by phone shortly before opening their doors causing everone who came in to have to wait a longer than normal. Great little place tucked away in the shopping plaza of Frankenmuth (a little French place in the Little Bavaria, if you may). Crepes are made right in front of you and are very good. Place itself is very small and there could be a bit of a wait. We were lucky that we were able to snag a table for 4 (tables are first come, first serve, you order at the counter and they call your name out). I had a Rueben crepe (very good, but Rueben is made to be eaten as a sandwich, not a crepe - nothing against the shop as the crepe itself was very good), our daughter had Murano (minus the chicken, as she doesn't eat chicken. Pesto sauce is not my thing but she really loved it), our son had banana Nutella (really really good) and my wife had gluten-free lemon and sugar (absolute standout). So good I hit it twice in one day! It's rather frustrating how difficult it is to find a decent crêpe in a state that was supposedly founded by the French. This place has been here for over 10 years, and i believe it's one of the only original businesses at Riverplace to still be around. My first visit was for dinner, and I went with the Montecristo sandwich. A delicious combination of turkey, ham, cheese, and raspberry preserves. It was absolutely magnificent, I wasn't even mad that I had to eat it outside due to the pandemic. A few hours later I returned for dessert, and ordered the banana Nutella. Perfectly done with the right amount of ingredients. The prices are reasonable, the staff is very friendly, and the product is divine. I will absolutely be back for more someday. read more

This cafe is in the cute village of Frankenmuth, and it's one of the only food places in the village. The menu boasts a variety of different crepes, and we ended up getting a mediterranean crepe and a strawberry cheesecake crepe. The mediterranean crepe lacked in flavour, but the strawberry cheesecake crepe was great. The strawberry cheesecake was recommended as one of the most popular crepes, and I can see why. I think overall, this cafe has great dessert crepes, but their savoury ones are a bit more lacklustre. The service was incredibly slow at this location. With two workers working, we expected the wait to be at least half of what we actually experienced. In terms of restaurant aesthetics, the cafe has a cute Parisian interior, but we chose to walk around the village instead of sitting inside. Verdict: There are better crepe places around the world, but La Crepe Du Jour is still a good place to eat at when in Frankenmuth. read more
