From the moment we walked, we felt incredibly welcomed and at ease. Our main waitress did an amazing job. She was friendly and efficent. One of the twin brothers came out to greet us at the beginning of the meal at well. The whole meal was so well paced. We never felt like the wait between courses were long. It was constantly being cleaned up, new silverware being laid out, or getting the next course served. We enjoyed all the courses. There wasn't a single course that we didn't like. Our stand out dishes were the blue lobster with the softest/most pillowy gnocchi and an iberico pork chop with cabbage jus. We were all in awe. My dad loved the cured squid somuch, he talked about it throughout the rest of our trip. I loved all the dessert courses. My husband and I both got cocktails. We told them our taste preferences and our preferred liquors. And they absolutely nailed it. I did read somewhere that their mocktails are just as expensive as their cocktails, so keep that in mind. I thought it was absolutely worth the price. It was about 3-3.5 hourish dinner. We did add an extra course (they were offering a white truffle pasta dish that my dad absolutely did not want to pass over). My parents normally sleep pretty early, but they were hyped the entire time. I was very very happy that we got to come here.

Cocina Hermanos Torres showcases an open concept kitchen, almost like a battle royale, where the star chefs work in the center of the room, with the guest tables surrounding it 360 degrees. It was very interesting to see all of the action as you eat. The servers, featured in red 3-michelin starred shoes, are constantly at your service with sometimes 2 servers per person bringing you the courses. The staff all work with a cheerful mood, like this whole project is a part of their passion. The food, of course, is unlike anything i've ever tasted, and undoubtedly my best meal so far. The menu is spread onto 20 different courses, with the first few appetizer courses being just "a single bite" each. Each "bite", however is packed with a myriad of flavours that leaves you wondering how this is even created. Like works of art, the main courses are just as flavourful and interesting. The highlights were the sauces and broths. I also especially liked the fresh seafood. The dessert courses were facinating and plentiful, with 10 different items, and each having a unique taste. Overall, like the wonders of the world, Cocina Hermanos Torres is a culinary wonder on its own. Eating here invokes all 5 senses, showing that great food is not just calories, flavours or even artistic visuals, but a celebration of all that our senses can enjoy. It is an expression of creativity and a masterclass of the gourmet. Albeit, this is my first 3 michelin star meal, but it definitely is a meal i'll remember for a long time.

I don't know if it's just me as an American or what, but the temperatures of the foods was my only "complaint" per se. Some of the tapas I thought would be hot were lukewarm at best. So, I'll have to try more places to just see what's normal for Spain.

Pair it all with a cold Estrella and you've got yourself a 5-star winner! I loved the fun learning curve here: grab a plate, pick whatever pintxos catch your eye, and keep the toothpicks (of all shapes and sizes!) so your total can be tallied at the end. Some toothpicks were just holding things together -- I had to laugh at that -- but it's all part of the charm and experience. La Tasqueta was so good that we came back a few days later for another round, only to find it temporarily closed due to a plumbing issue. Sadly, we couldn't wait since we'd already hiked all over Montjuïc earlier that day. We tried another pintxo place down the block -- it was okay, but honestly, not even close to the same level. This place is amazing -- friendly, fun, and absolutely delicious. Sit inside and be dazzled by the colorful pintxos lined up along the counter, or grab a spot outside under an umbrella and watch the world go by. Loved this place... 5 stars all the way!

I got a reservation for the communal table and we shared the table with another family from out of town. The food was amazing and the staff was courteous. The menu was divided into cold/hot tapas, specialties, and meat - there might be one or two more sections but I forgot to take a picture of the menu. We ordered the beef tenderloin chunks with garlic (5 stars), razor clams (5 stars), courgette blossoms (5 stars), bread with tomato (4 stars), tuna tartar (3 stars), Russian salad (3 stars), octopus with seaweed and ham (3 stars), the bomba (3 stars), frozen truffle (3 stars), and Catalan custard (4 stars). I want to be clear that 3 stars isn't bad, it's decent but not what I was expecting. If you're from California and frequent sushi bars, stay away from all tuna tar tar in general. The octopus was a bit on the salty side and there are Korean influences and California is full of these kinds of dishes. So stay away from fusion food in general when in Spain. I now realize I'm more satisfied with the traditional tapas because we don't get that at home. It does not mean that the fusion dishes were no good here. Everything rated 5 star is freaking delicious. We actually got two orders of the beef tenderloin. Also the Russian salad is more like a potato salad with crab, tuna, and eggs - no veggies.

Not only did we learn the secret of how to eat garlic without painful side effects (those of you "our" age will know what I mean) but I also went back for seconds on mussels. (A first for me.) ...and thirds! Wait... what? Some of the food that I have only tolerated in the past? I couldn't get enough of it! And my favorite gazpacho? Fuggedaboudit! ...and they promised to share their recipe for their mojito ice cream. JUST WAIT. You'll love it! Photos to follow..." That's how I posted to FB upon getting home from our experience at Barcelona Slow Travel. I was eager to share that to give a sense of enthusiasm that I had for that evening! Our hosts, Christina and Guillermo, were warm, friendly, funny and eager to please. While some of the treats on their menu were not a surprise (olive plate, gherkins and pickled garlic, and gazpacho) the rest of the evening's menu was entirely dependent on what Guillermo could find FRESH at the market that morning. ...and FRESH made all the difference. Their space is intimate and inviting. After getting to know each other for a bit, each of the guests were seated around a large butcher block table and given a cutting board and a sharp knife, along with a task - from zesting limes to veining garlic to prepping mushrooms, mussels, peppers and the rest, they put us to work! Guillermo ensured that each guest was performing their task just right, while giving us the background of the dishes we were preparing, making small talk and generally making everyone feel "at home." Frankly, the next several hours passed by in a blur. No, it wasn't the wine (okay, maybe just a little bit) but it was the pleasure of the company, the work involved, and the gastronomy! The evening was a resounding SUCCESS. I would not hesitate to return there. (In fact, one of our group was there for her second time!) So if you're in Barcelona and want to understand the food and the pacing of the dining experience, be sure to check these guys out! You won't be disappointed!

Not sure if this place has any relation to the Liuyishou Hotpot chain but looks like it's pretty legit. They have a membership plan that you can sign up for & gives discounts off your meal price. We didn't inquire more about the membership since we aren't locals & don't know when the next time we'll be back haha. Broth is ~€14, regardless of whether you decide to get one singular broth, two split broths, or if you were to get 4 different broths. It is about €4-5 if you opt for the individual hotpots. Ordering is done via QR code assigned to each table, & can order drinks from CoCo Bubble Tea from QR Code, as well. We ordered two drinks from Coco & they brought the drinks over to us from down the st. We ordered the angus beef, sirloin, lamb, quail eggs, enoki mushroom, veggie set, fish, roe bag fish balls, and more. For broths, we did four: pork bone, chicken, golden, & tomato. My favorite was the chicken broth! They also have a sauce bar for €1.80/pp. Our meal total was supposed to be ~€150, but they applied a discount in which the final total was €116! We ended up ordering an extra two plates of meat & we were able to take it to go. We cooked the rest of it there & it is €0.20 per container. Overall, not too shabby meal! It ended up being a lot better than I expected. I would come back again ;) Staff was very kind and helpful.
