I ordered bar stools in November 2025 and still haven't received them. I keep getting different excuses - hold up in production, they have arrived at the warehouse, no they are still in customs, no they have arrived at the warehouse and will be sent to me next week, no they are still in the warehouse and we will send you a tracking number when they are sent. Now 5 months later (March)I still don't have the barstools but they had had my money since November. There is no way to contact them except for the "customer service" number which I call weekly. UPDATE: Within 36 hours of my wife and I posting about our experience on a few platforms, Masaya refunded our money in full, 11 weeks afer their shipping agent picked up the defective chairs. ///////////Original Review: Caution: I experienced a very long delay, received 4 flawed chairs (out of 6 total), and have not received a refund more than 2 months after returning the chairs. Masaya has repeatedly failed to follow-through or follow-up. And they have offered only implausible and inconsistent excuses about why. Here's my experience: Having previously purchased a well-made coffee table from Masaya, I ordered 6 woven dining chairs in November 2023. At that time, Masaya provided an "estimated lead time" of "10 to 14 weeks." Ultimately, the chairs did not arrive until just a few days short of 24 weeks (six months), in mid-May 2024. I promptly inspected the chairs and found that 4 of the 6 had clear manufacturing defects that never should have passed quality control inspections. Wood was nicked or stained with spots of finish. Legs were uneven. Glue stained the woven backs. And most glaringly obvious: one of the strings, dead-center, at the top of the chair's woven back, was snipped and hanging loose. The very same day, I contacted Masaya about this. Unconfident that Masaya could provide replacements free of defects, and unwilling to wait another six months (or more), I opted for a refund. I carefully re-packed the chairs in their original packaging, and Masaya's shipping agent (Pilot Maersk) retrieved them from my home by the end of May 2023. I subsequently contacted Masaya, multiple times, about the status of the return and my refund. Masaya confirmed that they had received the chairs and promised to process the refund; but the refund never appeared, and Masaya never followed-up. Two months later, I contacted Masaya, again. For the first time, Masaya claimed that they had had difficultly processing my refund because I made the purchase using PayPal. (I paid for the purchase using a credit card with PayPal as the payment processor.) This was the first time, in over two months, that anyone at Masaya had ever made such claim. (And, if that was really the case, someone from Masaya should have proactively contacted me.) Masaya asked for another way to provide a refund, and I provided them with my checking account details, so that they could send the refund via ACH. The Masaya representative claimed that Masaya must wait 8 business days to process a refund via ACH. (I work for a bank, and I know of no reason that should be the case.) Eight days came and went, and Masaya had not processed the refund. I followed up, today, and the Masaya customer service representative claimed that my "case was still pending" and that they could not process the refund because of their "financial obligations." I caution you against doing business with Masaya, given my experience. Delays can be very long. Products might be obviously flawed. And you cannot trust that Masaya will provide a refund if needed. read more

I suggest you not do business with this company. They mislead or outright lie about their ability to deliver on furniture. They do not communicate well. I had to cancel one order as after multiple delays, they finally admitted they could not provide an accurate time frame. So basically open ended. I then decided to buy some furniture in inventory and after 3 weeks they still have not shipped anything and have stopped communications. They do look like they have nice furniture, but you can't count on anything about delivery. So you should only order if you can't wait months with an uncertain delivery window. And even then, some have complained they never did receive their order. I discussed this with them before making my order and they assured me they had resolved their logistics issues. I ordered this on October 3. Followed up for shipping because it had not been shipped yet on October 17. Was promised a shipping number by end of day. No communication. I followed back up the next day, and was magically given a shipping number on the 18th. Now my $1,000 chair is sitting in a warehouse waiting to be shipped. There's been zero update well of course unless I go their website and leave and they reach out reminding me I left something in a cart! I would love to receive the chair and check it out and CHANGE my review but this is not a good way for me to start my venture with Masaya. As a designer, if the chair is worth the wait and ACTUALLY ships, it's something I'd like to use for other clients. I was charged over $500 in shipping for the first shelf, then another $500 in shipping to exchange the shelf, then another $150 for the return, for a total of $1150.00 in shipping charges. That is exorbitant! They don't answer their customer service phone, and I am getting the runaround by email. I never received my furniture. This isn't a COVID delay issue, this is because Masaya uses a third-rate shipping company that is not currently functioning (see below, their email doesn't even work) and has no accountability over it's distribution. The result? You'll pay for furniture, and then you'll never see your furniture or be able to talk to someone who is delivering your furniture. My experience: After looking forward to finally having the space for a Masaya chair in a new home, I paid for a chair, the chair was sent to a local shipping center -- then when the delivery day passed with no contact I called (wouldn't accept call), emailed both Masaya and the shipping company (Masaya didn't respond to emails, and the shipping company's customer service email server literally rejected the email because it couldn't accept them), and the online tracker/scheduler was completely non-functional. Time passes, and I find Masaya's WhatsApp, and after a day I get a response -- and I get blamed for being unresponsive. Their person connected me with the shipping company... who passed me off to another person... then passed me off to nothing. I never heard from them again. Bottomline: do not buy from this company. This is not a "COVID creating shortages and delays" issue -- this is using a cut-rate shipping company that has no functioning customer service or accountability, and Masaya's inability to ensure the furniture you pay for is delivered. They'll blame it on you, on everything other than a complete failure of performance. I recommend they ensure their distributors get some of that "email" ability that's so elusive to them, maybe a CRM or responsible adult working for them. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Seriously. Save yourself the money and stress. I don't even know where to begin to explain how terrible my experience was. As others have mentioned, there is zero customer service or accountability. I ordered a dining table and a matching bench. The bench arrived first and one of the legs was noticeably shorter than the others so it wobbled terribly. I called Masaya and Hector from customer service told to stick a wedge underneath it to stop it from wobbling! I just paid $600 for a bench, was sent a defective product, and the response from customer service was to fix it myself! My table finally arrived 3.5 months after I ordered it, after being told for weeks it was in their warehouse waiting to be delivered. The joke of a delivery company they use does not bring your furniture inside the house. I currently have a 200 lb table in a wooden packing crate sitting on a pallet outside my house and no way to bring it inside. What an absolute disgrace of a company. I am such a fan of this company. I absolutely love the patio set, desk and armoire I purchased from Masaya & Co for my office. The pieces are stylish, functional and extremely comfortable. Delivery was on time. And the service really helpful. Not to mention their "seed to seat" story which involves growing the raw material in unused pastureland in Nicaragua, growing and harvesting those trees after peak carbon capture, turning the harvested wood in heirloom quality furniture, and immediately replanting. I learned that these products were developed and produced using skilled crafts-men and women near the forestry plantations often times with their special skill set developed in house.
