Ventured to ThriftSmart to donate a few containers of clothes and shoes, and initially had no intention of shopping, but once I looked around, I had to make a lap through this place! Situated alongside Planet Fitness in an older shopping center on Nolensville Pike, ThriftSmart is a solid spot that is doing good things for the Nashville community! I initially found TS due to their partnership with a local organization, so donating to them was very important and purposeful. The donation process is standard and easy. Pull up, grab a cart, dump your goods and go on about your day. All the donation carts were full when I arrived, which is a good problem, so I got a standard buggy and wheeled my stuff in, then dumped in the large wire bins. Once I was done, I parked and then hit the aisles. The variety of goods that they have is amazing, and the prices are excellent. The place was very busy for a Monday afternoon, and they had plenty of associates and volunteers on the floor and at the registers. Overall, big fan of ThriftSmart and the impact they make to the local community. Worthwhile to stop in out of need or curiosity for sure! read more

I have had such luck at this thrift store. It's clean, sectioned off well with designer and higher end brands being near the cash register. I have found Ralph Lauren, Indie Blue, and Lululemon there with tags still on. It's a bit higher priced than other stores, but I'd still say it's fairly reasonable given the brand and convenience of it already being found for you. There are lots of kids items, books, furniture, and regular thrift items. I have always gotten very lucky finding vintage sewing patterns here! Thrift Smart is exactly that. Very thrift smart. They have tons of items and actually have colored tags on sale that match the color scheme and are actually on sale. As many other thrift shops just say they have color tags on sale but never have those color tags on items. We picked up several great items. read more

I used to love coming here before they shot their prices through the roof. You were able to find good items for a great price! Now they charge an arm and leg for Walmart clothing. The staff is super nice which is the only reason they got 3 stars. Just blows my mind that they raised prices so much when most things are donated. read more

The selection at this store is amazing! There is a lot of variety in almost everything, especially in the book and music sections. I'd say that the prices here are pretty reasonable, although some of the clothing is a bit on the expensive side for a thrift store, especially considering how outdated a lot of pieces are. Was really excited about a desk my mom got for her home office she finally got to do for herself. We brought the ticket you tear off and bought it at the front. We came back on Monday to pick it up and they had sold the desk (for a second time and without a ticket). They told us Saturday when we bought it that it was fine if we came back Monday morning before 10am.. it was 9:30am when my mom got to the store after driving a truck for two hours. Super sad they either can't keep their records straight or just want as much money as they can get out of multiple people and we're hoping my mom wouldn't come back. I'm really sad because I liked this place and visit often. And to top it off my mom didn't think she'd need her card she bought it with and they only offered her store credit... she was visiting me so she'll never use it. We won't either. This was a very large thrift store. It was very very organized and it was easy to find different things. They have multiple sales depending on the day of the week. Their website has a lot of information. The items were used but not really junky. They had a great selection of furniture and home decor as well as clothes. read more

Just won an Atari system with one cartridge's and power supply, two joy sticks from the display showcase for auctioned items. Paid $96 after tax the Atari system does not even power on. I'm pretty it could've been tested with all the old t'v's that are currently plug up and powered on in the back of the store. No excuse to auction items without testing them? Prices can be confusing as many items do not have a color which is important for sales. Friendly staff and larger store. Selection is hit and miss as with any thrift store. A better pricing system and lower prices would make it better but will still return again. read more

I've always been a THRIFTY shopper, but over the course of the past few years I've definitely become more of a THRIFT shopper as well - besides the obvious money-saving advantage of buying second-hand, there's also something adventurous about questing for treasures amidst all the items everyone else has parted with. And Thriftsmart is one of my favorite thrift stores in Nashville - I usually have better luck there than at Goodwill, Music City Thrift or Southern Thrift. I don't know if it's because it's a little bit more off the beaten path than the other stores, or if there are better donors, but I rarely walk out empty handed. Thriftsmart is a great spot for looking for dishes and other housewares (one year I got an entire Christmas party's worth of holiday mugs to give as party favors, for a quarter each), as well as books (their book section is HUGE). Clothes, like all thrift stores, can be hit or miss, but they always have a massive inventory, and their once-a-month $1.99 clothes day is a great opportunity to walk out with a few new (used) pairs of jeans. The women's department seems to always have loads of Levis, Old Navy and Gap jeans (in modern cuts styles), as well as a few pairs from more upscale brands as well. On $1.99 day, two bucks for a pair of Lucky jeans isn't too shabby at all. One note - prepare to spend some quality time looking through everything if you're going to stop in. But all large thrift stores are rarely and in-and-out kind of thing anyway, so I can't hold that against Thriftsmart. They messed up my screen door when taking items away and instead of telling me, they acted like they were getting a receipt from the truck, got in and drove away with me standing at the door. I am 64 and have been thrift shopping since I was 15 years old when I bought a pair of maroon crocodile, open toe pumps from the 1930's. I loved them and wore them to school. I was very cool. I have been to nearly every thrift store in middle Tennessee. ThriftSmart's prices are comparable to them all. Their 50% off and 99c racks sales are frequent and worthwhile. The store is big, open, CLEAN, and the staff/volunteers have always been pleasant. ThriftSmart has also been a great partner to the school I teach at. They have provided their $5 shopping cards to our very needy families as well as offer 50% off for students and educators every Friday. They actually care about the community they live in. Customers are unaware that many thrift stores say they 'benefit' certain charities but their small print will actually state they are a for-profit. I've done my homework on ThriftSmart, read their mission statement and their commitment to their charities. It's one of the first places I'll go when Covid lets us out!! read more

Used to love this place. It had great prices and nice workers. Maybe since Nashvegas has exploded they decided to explode. Pros Huge store, lots to find. Lots in everything. Books and furniture are the biggest along with women's clothes. Nice manager although she was quiet wrong about customer service. See Cons They speak Spanish. Fairly neat place, although many things were out of place. Could use more people working there, but mess happens. Cons Prices are too high to call this a good deal. Go to Burlington and get what you want for the same price. Some of the items did not have prices. When I picked out an item with 2 prices, they had to call the Manager who said it was the higher price. Now anyone who has ever worked in retail knows, it was their mistake, honor it. Workers are average at best. The guy who checked me out made so many mistakes, I called the manager back to help him. He gave back wrong change to the person ahead of me who then also commented good luck. He then took a water break, played with the hangers and did a round about while people were in line getting frustrated. There was only 1 register open for 7 people and getting longer. Kid did not know anything about working there. Manager should have seen this after I commented about please checking things including about discounts. So sad. It's a thrift store, treasure are there, you have to find them,but these at this particular thrift store, less than the other stores. Again, I used to love this place, but Nashvegas is finding it's stride and it is hitting thrift stores. Start to look in normal stores and wait for the sales. The prices will be better. read more

I gave up on Goodwill after finding Thriftsmart. The store has been renovated and is looking very smart. The selections are huge. Twice monthly there are storewide 50% off sales. I find many non generic items here and their Senior discount starts at age 55. This is how its done, thrifters! I always donate here now. The help is always friendly too.
