Bar's not open, don't want to pay to hit range balls, don't want to hit putts, just want to golf. No one's on the tee box and there's only two of us. I say hey, could we go now? He's like no there's two other groups in front of you. Okay fine. So we drive up the cart path to the tee box. We're not on the tee box, we don't have clubs in our hand we are just sitting in our cart. The first of the two groups that are in front of us are three guys. They pull up, walk up to the tee box, take some loosen up practice swings and look at us and say, do you guys want to go ahead of us because you're only at twosome? I say no. I guess there's you guys and another group in front of us. We're just waiting until it's our turn. This tattooed joker, unprofessionally, makes it a point to come out from behind the cash register, jump our s*** in front of the group that is on the t-box and tell us, you can't sit here waiting because being on the t-box will scare groups off that are showing up behind us. I look at the guy that asked us if I wanted to play through and said, well I guess we can't sit here. Him and the other two guys in his group (all look like they're in their early to mid fifties) say, are you s******* me? I've never heard that in my entire life. Tattoo boy then proceeds to tell me I know nothing about golf, (even though I've been golfing more years than he's been alive) and says it's common practice that you don't sit waiting in queue on the cart path leading up to the tee box. I says, o.k. if we can't sit here, where exactly is the staging area for people that are waiting to play? He makes us drive a whole 50 ft to sit by where the rest of the rental carts were staged. (50ft BIG DIFFERENCE) I look at their scorecard and read their rules of play and etiquette. Nowhere does it say that you can't stage yourself or sit in your cart on the cart approach of the tee box. Mind you, the people on this nine are probably in for a 2.5 or 2.75 hr round but that's of no consequence to him. He's more worried about us sitting in queue waiting to tee off than the actual pace of play on the course. After that spectacle of unprofessionalism, my partner and I look at each other and decide that we'll be God damned if we're going to waste or spend a dime of my hard earned money here. We take our clubs to the car. I go into the clubhouse and tell him I want the number of someone above him that I could talk to. Unprofessionally he refuses which I don't understand because if you don't feel you have done anything wrong why should you care who I talk to? after repeatedly refusing my request to be connected with somebody above him, which I have on video, he tells me to get off the property. I request a refund. He then says, we don't do refunds we do rain checks. Wait, if you want me off your property, and obviously after this bullshit there's 0% I'm never coming back again, why are you offering me a rain check that'll never get used nor would I give to anybody else, because until the day I die I'm going to steer everyone I know away from this place? I said I'll tell you what kid, I'm going to call my credit card company, and in 2 minutes I'll have this charge voided. Miraculously boom I get my refund. Again, I ask for his boss's number, again he refuses. I have video of his constant and insistent refusal to give me his boss's number. He says, I'll call him if you stop filming. I says, I don't want to be on a three-way call with your boss on your phone. I want to tell my side of the story without you interjecting and I'm not going to stop filming because I want record of you refusing to let me talk to somebody that's separate from the situation, is more professional and has a cooler head and can rectify this, He sneaks into a side room and calls his boss (have video) and starts making up a bunch of b******* and weaving this story of lies saying that we jumped tee times and I was pissed and slammed on my brakes in the cart lot to make me look bad and try to get out ahead of something he was clearly over his head on. I wasn't pissed. The insignificance of this punk isn't nearly enough to get me angry. I was put out and taken aback by his repeated unprofessionalism and disagreeable nature. His impotent power trip just a major annoyance getting in the way of me and my partner enjoying a little golf on our day off. So after telling his fairy tale, he says his boss will be down here and then I can talk to him in person. As much as I would have loved to, I've already made a tee time somewhere else 20 minutes away and that's a half an hour from now. I'm not playing games and giving my money to a rinky dink Mickey mouse outfit like this and anybody else reading this shouldn't either. The Rome/Nekoosa area just 40 miles North of the Dells is getting worldwide acclaim as a golf destination. Even the local airport has had to lengthen runways and increase fuel storage to accommodate the increasing number of private jets flying in. Sand Valley is the biggest draw with currently 5 courses on site and ever expanding. If you have a few million dollars casually lying around there are homesites available at Sand Valley. There is also Northern Bay, The Ridges, Bullseye and more within a short ride. When visiting and playing the courses be kind to your fellow golfers and follow the rules of the course you're playing on. Some may require replacing the divot you hit out that may have traveled further than your golf ball, others require not replacing the divot but sprinkling the provided grass seed into the newly minted divot. One final tip, please use the provided restrooms located on the courses. Some of us live on the courses and don't enjoy the view of golfers walking into the woods, relieving themselves and ultimately showing off their shortcomings.

Therefore, we had to golf twilight because there were no earlier openings. We played the Pines starting at 4:45 pm and we were able to get 15 holes in before it got dark. It was just me and my husband, so we were able to play fast. I must say that this one stands out as the best I've played at so far - so pretty. What truly impressed me was the impeccable maintenance of the greens. They were like putting on velvet - smooth, consistent, and a true test of my putting skills. The fairways were impressive. They provided a perfect surface for my shots, and the layout of the course was challenging yet fun. I found myself thoroughly enjoying the variety of holes. There was cart service available and ball marker collectible - bonus! With its well-maintained greens, lovely fairways, appealing layout, and friendly staff, it's certainly worth a visit.

It is more like a little resort with pools, camp store, fishing pond and planned activities such as ceramics($), horseshoe tourney($) and music at the pool each day. Very family oriented. They had a movie Sunday night on a big screen by the playground and also a cute little mini golf course...for free. The facilities and camp store/office were very clean and well maintained. It fits the definition of "glamping" with all the amenities. Of course they really cram in the campsites so you are very close to everyone around you...which is ok but can hear EVERYthing the others do. The part that stood out the most was the great customer service of the staff. Always a smile and a hello. The kids all went to buy candy in the store and when realizing they were $ .11 short the wonderful lady behind the counter gave them a little wink and covered each of them...not a huge amount at $ .33 but it was a very nice gesture and the kids thought it was so great!
