This place is the absolute WORST! I've wasted the last 3 years bringing my son here for braces. I wish 0 stars was an option! Dr. Nick was an arrogant jerk that was so rough he would hurt my sons face and neck and the new doctor is an arrogant jerk. My sons brackets would pop off left and right and wires would break for no reason and every time we would go in to get them fixed they would reprimand my son and not even listen him when he'd try to explain himself. Clearly their products and service are both awful. I mean it's hard to do quality work when you spend 5 minutes with each patient! My son's teeth actually look worse now than they did before we started this whole process! I'm having them remove his braces next week and I will never step foot back in that office ever again!!!! read more

I would like to preface this by saying I never, ever leave negative reviews. However, after reading several other similar reviews, I felt compelled to share my own experience only in an effort to help any parents/patients that may be considering going here. I went Dr. Nick in 2006 for orthodontic work. It's been 17 years, but I'll unfortunately never forget it. This was the worst experience of my life. He was all smiles during the consult, but quickly became rude and completely unprofessional. (I suppose my check had cleared). The day I decided to leave and change doctors was when I went in to have a bracket placed on an impacted tooth, which was a crucial step in coordinated effort between my dentist, an oral surgeon and an orthodontist. I had just had oral surgery to expose the tooth a day prior, not to mention four wisdom teeth extracted at the same time. I was sore and hurting. The office was a zoo, he was running from patient to patient as if we were on a conveyor belt. When he got to me, he was sweating and acting like he had to catch a flight. He looked at my mouth for two seconds before complaining, "how am I supposed to get this damn thing (bracket) on there (tooth)". He was frustrated, shaky and hostile. In an effort to divert from the obvious fact that he didn't know what he was doing, he chose to attack me for "not keeping up on maintenance" and swiftly sent me out of the office. However, not before going on an extremely threatening, bug-eyed diatribe, saying, and I quote "I swear to God I'll rip these (braces) out and it will cost you thousands". Are you kidding me? I was in absolute shock. I then witnessed him make a similar threat to a young boy who had forgot to bring his bands: Again, I quote "you're gonna piss me off". Utter disbelief. That was more than enough for me to make the decision at that very moment to leave this clown and his circus. Switching orthos was the best decision I've ever made, and it cost way less too! If you want the real GOAT, look up Dr. Woods in Sandwich, who treated me with the utmost respect, patience, kindness and care. read more

We didn't have any problems with Dr. Nick while he was treating my son, but I have never in my life (and I grew up with physicians) had a dentist treat us so poorly while he treated my daughter. He displayed a gross lack of professionalism, leaving her and my husband in the consult room for 45 minutes, after he was rude to my 15 daughter and made her cry. My husband waited and waited and he cowardly left the building. He never returned our phone calls, and just as bad is his office manager who shares the same lack of professionalism. We moved to a new orthodontist who indicated that he has seen quite a lot of Dr. Nick's patients who left his practice for various reasons. read more

Doctor seems to have no clue what he's doing with my braces as I went to get two brackets put back on after they fell off and the exact same brackets came off within hours of getting them on. I didn't even eat anything before they fell off and I've been back 3 times for those exact same brackets. Doctor keeps blaming me for eating foods I'm not supposed to even though I haven't eaten any crunchy or chewy foods and at over $6k this is just absolutely unacceptable. Would be 0 stars if it weren't for his assistants being friendly. read more

It is a shame that Yelp filters all the negative reviews. Dr Nick treated my children and, by far, he is not only the rudest dentist we have ever encountered, he is probably the rudest business owner I've encountered in my life. During the initial consultation, he was very pleasant but after you sign their contract and pay them, he becomes what others have described. He rushed the kids in and out, yelled at them if he felt they weren't doing as he asked (these are 13 to 15 year olds, mind you) and was physically overwhelming with the children. As stated by others, he jerked my children's heads and actually caused quite a bit of discomfort. My children were terrified when their appointments approached and would beg not to go. For us, it was so bad that we actually went to another orthodontist for our third child because he was so afraid after his sibling's dealings with Dr Nick. Please also be very careful of Dr Nick trying to sell services of a fellow dentist who removes wisdom teeth. At every appointment, he would claim that the children needed to have their wisdom teeth pulled and would give a referral for another dentist who I won't name. During their visits with their general dentists, they performed x-rays and informed me that the children did NOT need their wisdom teeth pulled and that they had come in with plenty of room. Our dentist also informed us that Dr Nick often referred patients to this other dentist and was paid a referral fee, even when those children did NOT need this surgery. This other dentist did, in fact, tell me over the phone that they have a "business relationship" with Dr Nick but would not disclose if they paid a referral fee to him. Bottom line is that I would NEVER recommend Dr Nick to anyone. He is rude, arrogant and extremely unprofessional. I have several friends who have had children treated by Dr Nick and the majority have had the same unpleasant experiences. I went to Dr. Nick for Invisaligns. I am an adult female, and wanted the Invisaligns because I conduct seminars. The initial meeting with Dr. Nick was very friendly; however, it immediately went downhill from there. I asked him if he worked with the Invisalign product, and he assured me that he did. I felt as if I was his first patient because his staff had to consult with the Invisalign sales person, and they were not sure what they were doing. Dr. Nick was not very patient with his staff and let them figure out how to get my teeth ready for the Invisaligns. During my visits he didn't have a professional manner, and always seemed rushed. I had to get an entire new set of Invisaligns after a year, because my teeth didn't align properly. He wanted to blame me for not wearing them all the time, even though I did. I had to go through the entire procedure again. I had about 2 months left to the end of my 'second' set, and I didn't see much improvement. When I asked him, what was going on, and what would the next steps be, he was very dismissive and said we'll see in 2 months. I think he thought I was one of his 6 or 7 year old patients. I stopped because of his lack of knowledge, and I was getting sore throats. He never called personally to find out why I stopped. I guess he felt he got his money, and that's all he was concerned about. Find another Orthodontist. Don't make the same mistake that I did. read more

The Doctor and staff have made three of my children's teeth look flawless! Dr. Nic has a wonderful "bedside" manner that keeps the kids relaxed and at ease. They actually look forward to going for check-ups. The remainder of the staff is professional, courteous, and skilled at all aspects of orthodontics. The insurance billing was handled 100% by the office without a hiccup. I couldn't be happier with bringing my children to Mashpee Orthodontics. Mashpee Ortho has a very friendly staff, however Dr. Nick is very rude. He would speak down to my children and I. He was only easy to speak with if my husband was around. He would yell at my child and make her cry at almost every appointment. The assistants would try to make up for his lack of professionalism. He never returned our phone calls, and would not be apart of any consult we made with him, knowing he was the reason for it. His behavior toward other children is very disturbing. He would jerk their heads around if they didn't hear him ask to raise their mouth. The things I saw while waiting for my kids appointments were very upsetting.
