Where do we even start?? We loved Mason's portfolio right away so we were excited to speak with him. When we had our consultation he was friendly, clear, and made us even more excited for our wedding day! He was super open to discussing our ideas and also brought some fun ideas that we hadn't even considered. Day of was even better- he truly went above and beyond. He blended into the background when needed and took charge and gave direction when needed. We literally didn't even know he was there during the ceremony, and somehow the angles were INCREDIBLE. The day ended up being about 30 mins behind schedule (not because of him but because nothing ever goes exactly as planned at weddings), and Mason helped us pivot at a moment's notice so that we still got the shots we wanted and stayed on track! While photographing, he strikes a perfect balance between putting people at ease and giving clear direction (and this is coming from a bride who does not like her picture being taken). Obviously, the shots themselves were the best part. There was NOT ONE PHOTO THAT WE DID NOT LIKE. The angles and lighting were all flattering and the editing was flawless! Literally my whole family teared up and our friends were blown away. The action shots that he came up with on the fly ended up being some of our favorites. Mason recently shot our wedding at Renback Barn in Rochelle, VA. We also did an engagement shoot in Maymont Park. The planning process was clear and easy on both occasions. He was very flexible and responsive. My wife and I are very awkward in front of the camera, but Mason gave us prompts, joked around and helped us to relax. During the wedding day he did everything we asked and more. Our guests loved him! He was professional, but also friendly and willing to cut loose a bit and match our energy (he's got some sweet dance moves).
