The building had several areas filled with beautiful varieties of plants on display and for sale. Apparently, this place puts on numerous events by different clubs and societies throughout the year from arts & crafts to horticulture. There is a number of separate rooms and even a nice patio area where people can display their wares to the interested public. It is free to check out, along with free ample parking in the adjacent lot. The society members present were friendly and enjoyed sharing their knowledge of plants. We had a nice time exploring all the different plant species and made several purchases to add to our own garden collection back at home. Now that I know about this place, I look forward to returning to see some of the other horticultural club events in the coming months.

Outside this location you'll notice two large structures: a cat and a dog. When you enter the gallery you'll see a front desk to your left, one of the staff members greeted us. There are pieces all over the gallery from artwork to sculptures. On the second floor there are multiple metal tables and chairs where you can have a seat and work. There was also a bathroom on the second floor. There was classical music playing throughout the building. It was a nice departure from working in my hotel room and I enjoyed seeing some of the artwork and sculptures on display.

Language classes are taught here by fluent speakers/teachers and membership with the I house will allow you to take any class you like (dance classes included too along with other event). There's storytelling for younger children each month and gathers for others weekly. Many other events happen weekly, just check on their website to see what's available and interests you :] Every year, the International House puts on the International Festival and there are many activities and performances. It's clear that everyone there is very passionate about their work and helping people out. Just come and check this place you, I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I almost feel like I'm giving away a secret…read more Nevertheless, let me be the first to shout out this incredible little neighborhood event space. While the primary function is as a Masonic Temple and the communication is sometimes poor and inconsistent, this is a spot that also serves as an excellent event space for certain small gatherings. I live in a neighboring neighborhood and walked by here. Since then, we've held one of my son's birthday parties and attended another function. It's really only for the folks around there to take advantage of, but when it all works out it just reminds you how many cool hidden spots there are in Sac. The temple itself is beautiful. It's an old building that apparently once was used as a church. There is an enclosed outdoor grass area, a back room for meetings and the temple itself for big indoor gatherings. The building isn't huge but it's big enough to handle small events. The Masons do a good job taking care of the grounds and keeping things updated. I spoke to a friend that use to live in the neighborhood back in the 60s and said they regularly held functions there. The functions may be irregular these days, but they're still happening. It's been a Masonic Temple for at least a decade. Occasionally, like on Halloween, you'll see the members themselves outside interacting with the community, but for the most part it seems their meetings are few and far between. My only gripe is that there is no clear point person to communicate with about the place and when we have, responses have been slow. They are in need of a more formal process for people to find out about the place and take advantage of the space. It seems like a wasted resource to have such a cool community option that is so rarely available to the public and so rarely used my the masons themselves.
