I have lived here two and one-half years. It's a great place for both my wife and me.

I have been a patient of the Wallingford Hartford Medical Group for over 20 years. I have been in…read morethe hands of the same providers with zero issues until recently. Since my practitioner of 20 years left the practice, the quality of care at HMG has declined tremendously. Myself, as well as ALL OTHER PATIENTS of the practice who take anxiety/depression medication were told that we can no longer be prescribed the medication by a provider. We need to see a behavioral health specialist. I fill my prescription once every 4-6 months. I have never had an issue filling my rx in the past. Within the past 2 weeks, I have asked the office staff to work with me in finding a provider either in the office, or another office associated with this office. I have spoken to multiple people, including the manager. They have provided me with no solution. I was told that none of the Drs in the office are comfortable working with a long term behavioral health patient due to the opioid crisis and how it effects their license. If this was going to be such an issue for so many patients, the practice should have made arrangements for patients prior to my doctor leaving. Instead, we're all being dropped with no assistance. This is a huge issue for me. It is a huge inconvenience for me to have to find my own care, as I was in the care of these doctors for so many years. I have since fired this practice, and will be searching for a new GP who actually cares about the patients. Since the practice switched to HMG and moved from Masonic Ave, they have changed many of their regulations and standard practices, which leaves the long term patients feeling lost and confused. The lack of communication in this office further proves to me, as well as many other patients that switching locations, and the loss of our practitioner means that we will not be receiving the care and concern we are accustomed to. If you're looking for genuine care and concern from a healthcare practice, you will not find it here.

Whatever I did to it, it required medical attention and rather than clog the emergency department over my stupidity, I went here to the Mid State Mediquick Location. This place is fast, friendly and the staff from the physician assistants, nurses and medical assistants are very knowledgeable. After ruling out a fracture, they quickly wrapped my foot, gave me a walking boot of some sort that I probably wont wear, gave me a prescription for some pain meds and sent me on my merry way albeit hobbling along with crutches. Excellent location, I think I had to wait all of 5 minutes and everyone was so nice. Smarter choice than going and sitting in the emergency department and surely smarter than what I did to injure myself.

I was in a private room and started getting a little teary-eyed on my own when the pain got worse and the nurse noticed when she came to check on me. The doctor booked into the room a very short time later and quickly diagnosed me as having conjunctivitis in both eyes and an ear infection in both ears. The doctor was very sweet and asked if I was under a lot of stress since that type of thing doesn't typically happen all together, and she made a lot of excellent recommendations for avoiding cold liquids and sticking strictly with warm or room temperature drinks until I healed up. I have had a couple of ear infections since then and haven't had another doctor take time to mention that helpful tip since then. I'm not sure if the same staff is still there, but I greatly appreciated their concern and the time they took to make sure I had all of the info I needed to get better as quickly as possible.

I will never step foot in the place again…read more In the middle of Feb I went to the clinic as I was sick for a week. I most likely had the flu but but I'm not sure as they never did a swab or either the flu or anything else The doctor was pleasant but I guess he did ok. He spent a grand total of maybe 5 minutes with me. The whole visit was under 30 minutes from walking In to walking out. He doc gave me a prescription for a antibiotic claiming I probably had a sinus infection. Great I thought. I'll finally start to feel better. Fast forward 6 weeks later. The bill comes in over $500. What the heck. This is with insurance.

Going to the doctor sucks. However, this is the nicest walk in I've ever been to. I've been three separate times now and each time has been a great experience. No appointments are needed. When you walk in, there is a table on the right where you grab a number. Then you sit in the large and clean waiting room, watch some tv, and wait for them to call your number. You get all checked in and then wait to be called back by a nurse. When you walk in back, it's like a mini hospital. There is a station in the middle, surrounded by rooms. Everything is so clean and new, not dingy like some doctor's offices can be. They make good time on everything, get your symptoms documented, blood pressure, temp, pulse and then they send the doctor in. Every time I've been there, I was pretty sure walking in what was wrong with me. (Once back pain, twice with this flu, first time with pinkeye then an ear infection) They listened, gave a quick exam and prescribed medication to help with my symptoms as well as cure the illness. Best part? They are FAST. I've never been there more than 30 minutes, start to finish. That is amazing. Granted, twice, I was waiting there when the doors opened, so I was the first patient. But the other time i went, it was about 2 hours after opening and was just as fast. Other walk ins I've visited, I've always had to wait an eternity. Everyone here is really friendly too. Highly recommend if you find yourself feeling under the weather. They'll get you in and out quickly so that you can go back to bed!
