Unfinished Work, Poor Craftsmanship, and a False Lien Threat…read more I hired Ybarra Professional Builders to complete work in my home, including renovating the upstairs bathroom. While the project was technically completed, the quality was completely unacceptable. The bathroom sink leaks, and the grout in both the shower and floor is already coming up. I brought in licensed professionals to inspect the issues, and they confirmed the floor was improperly installed and the sink was not installed correctly either. Despite these clear defects, the company has refused to return and fix the problems. To make matters worse, I just received a Notice of Intent to File a Mechanic's Lien claiming I owe them $16,016.00--which is outrageous and completely false. They included charges for services they never performed, such as: Cabinet resurfacing (they did nothing to my kitchen cabinets) Interior painting (they partially painted my living room, which I already paid for--and even that was incomplete) I've kept all of my receipts and documented what was paid. I paid for the bathroom remodel, but it was done poorly and without accountability. There is absolutely no way they did $16,000 worth of work in my home. This feels like a scare tactic to get paid for work they didn't do or didn't do correctly. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They do not stand behind their work, and now I'm dealing with legal threats for charges that are clearly inflated and inaccurate. If you're considering using them--think twice and document everything. This experience has been stressful, costly, and incredibly disappointing.

I was approached by Ethan who was charismatic, personable and seemed to care about the project I was interested in. I wanted pavers on my driveway and a new concrete patio. Everything seemed to go well, perhaps taking a little longer than expected (but that was ok). The trouble started when the work was done. The ground settled and a tiny crack formed in the concrete. I contacted them in April to discuss the crack and puddling on the paver driveway. We got no response until May. Ethan finally said he would send someone to look at it. They came and within a couple of weeks two workers were here to fix the problems. Unfortunately, they made a bigger mess and eye sore than the original damage. I texted Ethan again with pictures of the "corrected" work and has since not heard from him or any representative from the Ybarra Professionals. I am very frustrated and disappointed that this happened. The only reason I am writing a public review is with the hope that Ybarra Professionals respond to my many calls and text messages.

I explained that I don't have a lot of money right now, so I wanted to start slowly and just do one room at a time. His immediate response was to ask if I could put the job on a credit card. When I told him that I didn't have any credit available due to being on short-term disability since December, he made an extremely inappropriate comment, suggesting that I "learn how to paint myself." This kind of comment was not only rude but completely unnecessary. Despite this, I decided to continue and explained that I had tried painting the house myself 25 years ago when we first moved in, and it ended in disaster. His response? Another snarky remark. At this point, I was already regretting contacting him, but I pushed forward because I still needed the work done. Next, I sent him pictures of the small room (about 10x11 feet) I wanted painted. He said it would take 3 days to finish due to drying time, which seemed completely excessive for such a small room. When I asked him for an official estimate, he texted me a breakdown of $1,600 for labor and $400 for materials. This is absurdly high for one tiny room. I also asked what kind of paint he would use, and he listed "cashmere, superpaint, or emerald" for the walls, and "Emerald Urethane" for the millwork. He stated he would need 3 gallons of tinted primer, 3 gallons of paint, and 1 gallon of urethane. When I mentioned that four years ago, I had paid $6,000 for my entire 1,390 square foot house to be painted with two coats and some minor repairs by a reputable company, Stephens Painting, he responded in the most rude and dismissive way possible: "Let's not waste each other's time. I painted an entire house for $17,000. Material alone was $3,500 for 2,200 square feet." His response completely blew me away, and I couldn't believe the audacity. I was not trying to compare costs, just giving context that I had worked with a professional company before, and his pricing seemed wildly inflated. This entire exchange, from his rude remarks to his outrageous pricing, was just too much. I had more work I wanted done, but at this point, I wouldn't trust him with anything in my home. I will be sharing this review on every platform I can to warn others about his over-the-top pricing, his lack of professionalism, and his rude customer service. I don't want anyone else to go through the same frustrating experience I did. Avoid Josh Thompson and Thompson & Boys LLC at all costs. His poor attitude and ridiculous pricing make it clear that he does not value his customers.

TJ made sure he had a thorough understanding of what we wanted, was very knowledgeable and was easy to work with on anything unexpected that came up. When the project was finished, TJ came and did a walk-through and asked me if there was anything I felt needed to be addressed before they were done. I had a relatively small job for which I needed a mason, but needed this mason to perform detailed…read moreand careful work to fix an issue which my home builder left for me to deal with. This builder was First Texas Homes, by the way. And the home warranty furnished by StrucSure did nothing to help. The firm said, "nope, no problem here!" When clearly you can see the builder screwed up either the foundation forms or when framing the house. The exterior wall brick for one side was completely set OFF of the foundation, so it would be only a matter of time before the brick sagged, cracked, and possibly would bring the whole exterior wall with it. This is what I needed fixed - I needed the mason to remove the existing poor scab work, put in lintels to reinforce the brick wall to the foundation, and do a better scab job to cover the lintels. Eliut's team did a tremendous job. They took their time and made all of the necessary precision cuts to the lintels and cinder blocks to fix this ridiculous issue. When I first called, he responded right away, looked at the issue the next day, understood my main structural concern, texted me all the details, and had his team do the job two days later. I was blown away. He also allowed me to pay with Zelle, which made things super easy. Highly recommended.
