I got a much needed massage here after 4 days of hiking in Acadia National Park. Best massage I've had to date! Michelle was great and used a variety of techniques to really target my problem areas. Applied just the right amount of pressure to be effective, but not to make it hurt unbearably (gotta deal with a little pain to get the knots out in some areas, haha). She also did an overall maintenance/relaxation massage on the rest of me. Timer does not start until your head hits the pillow and it's a full 60 mins vs. 50 mins (which I've commonly seen in other places). All staff are very friendly. A+ customer service. The two other family members who were with me also said it was the best massage they'd received. One of the masseuses even gave us some recommendations on products that could help with recurrent issues. 10/10, will come back again and recommend them to anyone in the Bar Harbor area! read more

Michelle was very accommodating and had a warm and gentle presence! I really appreciated that she didn't talk during the massage--allowed for total bliss! I also liked that she tells you what her plan is before the massage starts. Not only does she plays close attention to your wants and needs, she makes sure you have total assurance of what she'll be doing. Truly start to finish, it was a great experience. I am constantly in need of a massage...I'm not sure if I'm sleeping wrong, working out with bad form, or just in pain from working at a desk all day. So I take the time to indulge quite a bit! On a recent vacation, my friend and I decided a massage would be a nice treat, so we both booked 90 minute massages here. I am so glad we did! I went with the deep tissue massage with Nikki and she had the hot stone massage with Marsha. I felt Nikki get every single knot out of my back...it was just a constant feeling of relief for a glorious 90 minutes. And my friend doesn't like deep pressure and was recommended to do a hot stone massage, and she said she will never get anything else again! On top of that, they provided some great recommendations for the area and were so great to talk to. I especially felt the need to write this review after the last two massages (from other providers) left much to be desired and I wished they had been as nice as the one at Massage Bar Harbor. After some vigorous hiking in Acadia, my husband and I thought to get a last-minute couples' massage, especially as an old knee pain had flared up in him the day prior. We weren't sure that we'd be able to find an appointment for both of us on such short notice, but Massage Bar Harbor was able to fit us in for the next day! We booked with Donna and Jennifer, who were just wonderful. They took our requests seriously, and acted with total professionalism while massaging us. My husband's knee is feeling much better after Jennifer's ministrations, which is, in no small part, owed to her extensive background in acupressure. We called to inquire if we could set up an appointment for a couples massage. We were immediately answered by a very helpful sweet woman. She was easy to work with and was able to get us in the next day. The place was nice and clean, very relaxing and peaceful. The women who gave us the massages were excellent! They made us feel very comfortable. Very professional and very conscientious. This was a rather extravagant splurge for our honeymoon. Normally we would not have spent this extra expenditure but we wanted our honeymoon to be special. Although the price was rather high we felt it was well worth it. I just had an amazing massage with Emily and was extremely happy with her technique and with the facility. Definitely call ahead to make an appointment, or book online, as even during off peak season it was busy. Would highly recommend this spa if you are in need of a massage' The facility was very clean and calm as was the massage room. I was pleasantly surprised to find the tables were heated and the sheets were very soft and cozy. It was a bit chilly today so they also had turned on a space heater in the room which kept it at a pleasant temperature I had a lot of knots in my upper back and neck and Emily was very attentive to my problem areas while also ensuring that I had a great overall experience. She used a lightly scented lotion and firm yet relaxing pressure. I regretted my decision to not go with a 30 minute massage but even so I left feeling nice and stretched out and thoroughly pampered. read more

The studio is very professional, clean, smells good, everything is well kept. The music is relaxing. Karen was my therapist. My husband had Martha. I cannot recommend them enough. They listened to us about our needs. We worked out a strategy together and they seemed to intuitively know what was just the right pressure in the right places. The best massage I have had in years Nikki, the owner is so kind and caring but strong! Hands of steel. I have been getting massages for over 25 years. Recently moved, twice. My body had felt like a pretzel! My neck is stiff and painful to turn. A friend recommended Nikki. Quick response to set up the 90 minute appointment. Arrived at the office, good parking, well appointed waiting room. Nikki introduced herself and she did an assessment. The massage room was peaceful with a running water fountain and soothing music. Very quickly I felt like I was melting into the table. She is so calm but very strong and did an incredible deep tissue massage. Started out soft and built up the pressure. It's almost 12 hours later. I feel great. The pain in my neck is gone. I drank lots of water today. I'm so satisfied with my visit today and will return next week for a follow up. Nikki gave one of the best massages ever (I've had 100's). I'm an athlete with chronic lower back and hip mobility issues so I need more of a therapeutic massage than a "fluff and buff" relaxing massage. I'm sure that can be found here as well but she knew exactly what to do to loosen up my hips and shoulders. She even knew I had a tight as f@@k psoas and knew how to loosen that bitch up. A+.
