The baby found some toys!

This had to be one of the most unique places I've stayed at, and I can't say enough wonderful things about it. The idea of staying in a Yurt came through a glamping search, near National Parks, that were a reasonable drive from me. I came across this place online, and after a few minutes of looking through the photos, I knew this was where I was going to vacation. The location was great- about a 20-30 min drive from Acadia, depending on where you want to go. If you plan your park trips accordingly, this is perfectly fine. The distance is nice since it forces you to drive and see the area. The space where the yurts are located is peaceful and quiet. While the property was full (based on all the assigned parking spaces being full) you could never tell. All the residents were super quiet and respected the quiet hours. It made it feel like we have the whole place to ourselves. Let's discuss the yurt itself (they also have tiny homes but we didn't stay in them). The yurt was nicer than my home in some respects- there is on-demand hot water, so you can wash dishes AND take an incredibly long shower at the same time, and always have hot water! That's a luxury my own house doesn't have. The furnishings are nice and thoughtful- plenty of amenities in the kitchen, form a french press, and coffee and sugar and spices. More things are here than at most air BNB's I've stayed in. The circle shape is unique, and the top observation bubble window is wonderful. If you can manage to stay when there is rain, I recommend it. We had a downpour one day and it enhanced our trip- hearing the rain pelt the sides of the yurt, and seeing the trees sway through the window, really added something extra. The property has a wellness center attached with a float tank, a massage room, a sauna, and yoga- there is nothing like doing yoga in the middle of the woods on vacation, if you ask me The fire pit is right outside the wellness center and has a nice bricked in circle with large sturdy tree stumps to sit on. There are hammocks to use, and communal outdoor grills and screened in eating areas. There is a laundry facility, and a pantry that as items to check out like brownie pans and lobster pots. There are DVD's and books to borrow, and you can take anything (and leave anything) in the pantry. We found shampoo and soap, mac and cheese, and popcorn there. We left a lot of our groceries to pay it forward and thank the people who left us biscuit mix, pancake mix, and an assortment of other things. The owners could not be nicer- they were so communicative and accommodating. They run the wellness center, so I took yoga classes and got a massage, too. It was one of the BEST massages I ever had. My masseuse (the owner) didn't talk during it (which is something I like but never feel comfortable requesting) so I was totally relaxed. Her yoga classes were amazing- all supplies were given and you just show up. The float tank was a new experience for me- and I was thrilled. It took a little getting used to (definitely use the ear plugs!!) but once I did it was so relaxing, I fell asleep. I look forward to coming back, but next time I might indulge and treat myself to a solo trip. Such peace, such comfort, such a great change of pace.

We stayed here for a week and it was amazing. So nice to get off the grid with some comfort. Super clean, super friendly, and super convenient. Make sure to take advantage of the wellness center on site. You won't be disappointed. There are a ton of amenities and even things on loan if you forget something. Karen and Aaron run a great spot here in the heart of Acadia.

I sooooo appreciate that there are healthier and/or plant-based options popping up in cities and…read moretowns all across Maine. We knew we'd be hiking all day (and had a heavy dinner planned) so we stopped at Earth and Flow to pick up some lighter bites. This was around 10am on a Thursday, and we were the only customers. It took about 45 minutes to get our food (no other customers ever came in; it didn't appear they were making any to-go orders). There were two employees that day, one who was making our order and one who was on her phone. We got: 1. Tara's Peanut Butter Heaven smoothie (banana, peanut butter, chocolate, almond milk) and the Tropical Storm smoothie (mango, pineapple, strawberry, orange juice, coconut milk, almond milk): I don't know how this is possible - maybe they were made in the same blender? - but these tasted identical. They were also liquidy. Personally, I prefer my smoothies so thick it's hard to suck through a straw. 2. the Thai wrap (almond-ginger pate, lettuce, mango, red pepper, cabbage, basil, mint, cilantro, ginger almond dipping sauce): this was okay - there was *a lot* of mint stems - but the ginger almond dipping sauce tasted purely of soy sauce - way, way too salty for me. 3. the Sun Tuna wrap (tuna salad made from sunflower seeds, not fish, combined with lemon, Bragg's amino acids, celery, pickles, and romaine lettuce): my favorite of the three! Such a unique take on a vegan tuna, but the celery was literally long uncut stalks. 4. the Sante Fe wrap (cashews, lemon, parsley, cayenne pepper, vegan mayonnaise, black beans and avocado): my partner's favorite of the three, but I found it bland, also there was no avocado and LOTS of romaine... which isn't an ingredient in this wrap. ^ I appreciated that all three wraps came on a bed of lettuce, because the wrap itself was *so* stiff and gummy in texture that we ended up dumping the interior onto the greens and eating it salad style. 5. Earthy Delights (4 Medjool dates stuffed with almond butter, cardamom, and ginger): the BEST thing we got were these stuffed dates. The combination of the rich almond butter, earthy cardamom, and spicy ginger were unlike anything I've had in recent memory. Do not miss out on these! For me, this missed the mark. But it's fantastic that an option like this exists in Rockland.
