After suffering from tight muscles and back pain for a while I decided to schedule an impromptu massage. I read some great reviews about Massage Bliss and decided to give them a try. My back was so sore, I'm pretty sure anything would have made it feel better at that point. With that, I was so impressed by my massage that I'll definitely be coming back here! All of the staff were so pleasant, the facility was nicely decorated and very clean and they offered coffee and water in their waiting lounge. When my time came, my therapist, Devon, asked me a few questions and then got down to business. She did a fabulous job and was so professional. I couldn't have asked for anything better. I opted for a 60 minute massage and was pleasantly surprised when I was told I would receive a new customer discount. I would highly recommend coming here if you're in need of a massage. Just had my first facial and massage here today! Definitely one of the best facials I've had before. Great recommendations on products I should use on my face, super relaxing, extracted my black heads, and over all very great! Massage was very relaxing too and perfect amount of pressure. I would give this place 3.5 stars. I have tried it twice and the massage has been alright. I had my massage with Sasha (I believe that was her name) I said I wanted a lot of pressure since I had some pain I needed to get rid of. However it wasn't the worst and wasn't the best massage. I had been looking around places in the area to get a bikini wax, and someone I know recommended Massage Bliss. I called and scheduled a wax, and they were able to get me in super quick. I had never gotten a full Brazilian wax before, but oh my goodness, my esthetician Farah, was AMAZING. I was super nervous, being it my first time getting a full Brazilian. I was terrified and didn't know if I would be able to handle the pain. Farah did such an incredible job making me feel completely comfortable. She took her time with applying the wax and explained everything she was doing. The pain was not even half of what I expected. Of course, some parts did feel painful, but the pain is over quick and Farah was great at soothing the skin. If you're in East Lansing/Okemos and need a wax, you HAVE to book Farah. Set an Appt for a waxing, 1st time customer and this place came recommended (although it's a little drive for me). They called and even confirmed appt day and time (5:30 pm appt), I was All set to go and definitely planned on being there (needed waxing bad). When setting up appt (don't remember young lady's name), they wanted my c.c. ($25.00) to put into their system in case I cancel. I was not going to do it (give c.c. over the phone to someone I don't know, never did business with, etc?) but I finally gave in, since I didn't want my c.c. info stored in their system for security reasons (a 1 time charge and then they take it off the services). They called late morning to confirm for the afternoon appt and said that Mary wouldn't be able to make it and but have me covered, will be with Farra but at 6:30pm instead. I said OK. I then got a call from them about 1 hr before appt (I was just about ready to leave for it) and they told me that Farra could Not make it, so sorry! I was not only disappointed but rather upset. I called them the next morning (tt Maria (manager), I think her name was), they did Credit back the $25.00 1st fee only, told her what happened, she apologized. During that discussion, I said you guys take my c.c. info for a $25.00 no show/cancel deposit, yet you guys Cancelled with me the same day and what about you crediting an additional $25.00 back for my trouble also. Doesn't look like I will be getting that additional $25.00 for my troubles - Sadly and it's not right! I booked with another Spa for waxing (quite closer), got it done last Sat. and they did a great job (very happy (impressed), good price and I even tipped the nice lady additional $16.00 on a $55.00 waxing job). Massage Bliss missed out and I told the Manager that they lost a good customer and I won't do business with them again or recommend them (not a way to run a business) and the new Spa has my loyalty for sure now... read more

Honestly my expectations weren't high because the first time with a new masseuse can be very hit or miss... especially when you've booked last minute and taken whomever was available... I prefer deep tissue with firm pressure... I have been let down on more than one occasion... I would up with Leslie and was very pleasantly surprised... she was fantastic... the pressure was there and she did a thorough job in the hour we had... she found and worked through some of the tougher knots but still hit all the key points without feeling rushed... if I lived in the area I would see her regularly... the facility is clean & quiet... there is coffee, tea, and water on offer... and the staff was courteous and pleasant. Great place close to the mall in Okemos. Cozy, comforting space. Their first-time visit deal ($38) is well worth it. Great customer service. My only complaint about the place was that my particular therapist was really talkative. Very friendly, but I also just wanted to relax and not have a conversation. I'd go back regardless. DO NOT GET A BRAZILIAN WAX HERE. I have had my fair share of Brazilian waxes in my lifetime and NEVER have I been in such pain. The wax kept sticking to my skin and not coming off quickly, the lady seemed like she had absolutely no idea what she was doing, and I basically started crying in the middle of it. Absolutely horrible. Wouldn't wish that pain on my worst enemy. Hoping that I don't get massive bruises. read more

My wife and I went to Massage Bliss in Okemos on our anniversary last week for the first time. It was excellent! They were able to schedule us with very short notice. The spa has a nice, quiet waiting area. We had a couples massage which was very relaxing and peaceful. They seem to have a very well trained, professional staff that took the time to discuss with us areas of overly tensed muscles and what streching we could do to help those areas. It was a great experience and just what we needed. We will definitely be back! read more

I have been looking for a new salon to receive a Brazilian bikini wax. After doing my research this appeared to be the place to go in the area. However, I would stay far away. It started out with the provider asking me how often I get facials and I had to correct her for the service that was going to be provided. During the wax procedure the provider informed me that she herself had never had the procedure done. This isn't overly concerning, however, after completion of the service I feel it might be necessary so people understand how it feels because I left in severe pain and discomfort on my bikini line. When she initially finished I noticed that my bikini line was extremely swollen and irritated. The next morning I found a 2inch by 1/2 inch burn (similar to a rug burn) where my skin had been removed from the wax. I have had the waxing procedure done for almost 8 years and this is the first time skin has been removed in the process. read more
