It seems like some things have changed due to COVID since my last review six years ago, but we still rank Zoe as the number #1 massage therapy business in the area. It was awesome!!! Quiet. Warm bench. Dark. I had a nice cup of hot tea. This gets 4 stars and the reason I tipped well. The manicure was just a plain old manicure. I prefer a hand and arm massage. I don't do gel and I know it'll chip. They all do so def skip this as there are NO "perks". Looks like they do nail designs, gel, etc. the manicure stations are in the small salon. The pricing was fine. Not outrageous. I'll go back if in town with time. I'd like to try a massage as they get good reviews here. Absolutely love Zoe. Many additions have been made to the business such as an aromatherapy room, infrared sauna, sound therapy, tanning machine, yoga classes, relaxation area, and other treatment rooms. I admire the pleasant staff and the amenities. One unique feature of Zoe is the "Worry Tree." Before receiving your treatment a staff member will give you a tiny leaf ornament to hang on the tree insinuating "leaving your worries behind." I appreciate the beverages that are offered such as the Aveda tea. However, the Aveda tea is no longer available. I equally enjoy the green tea selection that is now being offered. The massages are amazing as well as the sound therapy after receiving your massage. This business will continue to prosper. read more

Made an appt for my birthday. Paid the deposit & read reviews so I was excited as I haven't had a massage, a GOOD massage, in years! When the day came I paid for my Uber there 5 mins before I got there the receptionist called me and said they were closing early and they could fit me in another day. My Uber was only a one way so I had to wait outside in the freezing cold for 30+ mins for another one to pick me up & take me home. When I asked for my deposit back the receptionist was rude and told me it is what it is and told me it could take up to 2 weeks.. I never got it back. The owner called me and offered me a free massage.. so I had to pay for another round trip Uber days later & it was terrible to be completely honest. Idk if people are leaving fake reviews or what but I was so pissed and disappointed. Waste of money and my time. Will NEVER go back. Nestled in a business district I drove by here many times and assumed because of the surrounding businesses that this was an overpriced and over rated establishment. I stand corrected. They are higher than most but nothing exuberant. You're paying for the decor, the welcoming experience and tea or water. (They should offer wine) My shellac service was $30 like most places. My nail tech was sweet and welcoming. My service was ok, nothing special or memorable. Just a regular shellac polish. She didn't do much in the way of my cuticles or shape, she basically put my hands in cold water, dried them, got rid of jagged edges and polished them. The polish did not last longer than 5 days without chipping so I will not be returning for the nail services. I may return to one of the hair stylists who has the speciality of styling natural and straight hair well. read more

The owners have done a very nice job converting business space to a softer atmosphere for the spa. Love the attention to gently transitioning in to the service, with time to enjoy a glass of lemon-lime water and leave life-worries behind for a little while! I had the Elemental Nature Massage. Very luxurious. It worked; I felt wonderful when I left! The only caveat; I knew that my gift certificate included a tip, but when I left, the desk attendant showed me where on the receipt to indicate a tip....would have been nice if she had acknowledged that my gift certificate already included a tip and I was welcome to show additional appreciation to the attendant if desired. read more

This place is a total rip off! I went to get a spray tan prior to leaving for the south. I called to book, and was told it would be $35. When I arrived, I was told it was $45! This may not make sense, but I could feel the negative, heavy energy being massaged out of me. It was very refreshing and relaxing and I felt very comfortable. I also paid extra for the light therapy sauna, and that was very relaxing and worth it as well. It's not like your typical sauna. It's a small enclosed area that gets pretty warm and you pick which lighting you want (I choose blue for seasonal depression, or SAD. I think that option also helped with acne. Other lights address different problems). The spa itself was very clean, had a relaxed atmosphere, and supplied plenty of water. I'm looking forward to going back! read more

Zoe is a lovely spa. I treated my Mother to a "girls day" while I was visiting in Lansing about a month ago, in May of 2015. Zoe is a VERY clean spa, the staff is friendly and it was a good experience overall. The pedicure I received was worth every cent of the $40 I paid. It's been 4 weeks and it still looks good. NO chipping at all. My only suggtesstion would be for clients to be offered a light snack. We were there for a couple of hours in the middle of the afternoon, so a light snack of some sort would have been appreciated. Otherwise, things were nice! I would return again. read more

TERRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES AND ABYSMAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I had a $200 gift card that was purchased for my birthday several years ago, by my Aunt who lives out of town. I used approximately $25 of the credit, and called today to book a massage, and was told that my gift card had expired. I then spoke with the owner, who was cold as ice. She was rude and completely lacking in customer service. She told me I was out of luck. Even though she didn't debate the balance, and was able to see that the remainder of the credit was not used, as the information was still on file, she was unwilling to work with me. I gave her several opportunities to make things right, reminding her that as a small business, retaining customers is vital. She was completely unwilling to even discuss it. She didn't even offer an apology, just told me that this was their policy. It's too bad, because I likely would have become a loyal customer, but obviously I'll never return. read more

This is by far the best spa experience I have had in Lansing, if not ever. The facility is clean, comfortable, and the atmosphere is calming and relaxing. You can tell the employees love their job because every one of them was exceptional and the service was great. We even chatted with the owner who was very sweet and you could tell she takes a lot of pride in her spa. I finally got my husband to get a couples massage with me, and I am so glad this was his first experience because everything was absolutely PERFECT. I cannot recommend this so called "spa". I recently had a pedicure here. The technition's name was Rachel. I cannot complain about her. She was obviously doing what she is told to do. The problems started after my pedicure. I was seated on a bench to dry. No lower back or head support, just a wall to lean on. Very uncomfortable. I was fortunate enough to get a dryer. The woman on the bench next to me wasn't as lucky. She was told that the other dryer wasn't charged. I'm sure Rachel had to speed up my drying time. She tapped my painted toes and said I was done, even though there were 3 min left on the timer. It wasn't dry and my polish smudged. I called back to see if someone could fix the polish. I was told that they were booked and maybe if there was some time the next day they would call me. I called and asked to speak to a manager. Ginger said she couldn't do anything for me and simply said Sorry. I asked to speak with Wendy the owner who professes to care about customer service on her YouTube advertisement. She was in, but not available. I was told she would return my call. She has not returned my call. I agree with Busy Bee... You do feel pressured to tip. read more

I had an amazing massage there this week. I was very pleased they could get to me within 2 days because I had extreme muscle tightness after my 11-hour drive back from my family in NC. The entire facility is well-designed and decorated, the atmosphere was very relaxing and the massage room was perfect - low lighting, soft instrumental music, etc. Granted, it's been a while since I had a massage, but it was just what I needed. My massage therapist was amazing. She used the right amount of pressure, spoke in a soothing voice, and kneaded my muscles like dough. Cant say enough good things about my experiance from begining to end... very convenient location, wonderful relaxing atmosphere. I am definately a "white knuckle" customer having had many bad experiances with my very curly hair. Rachelle knew exactly what she was doing, made me feel totally comfortable and best of all gave me exactly what i was looking for. While i was there, the owner went by and made a point of asking how i was doing. I had the keratin conditioning treatment and would highly recommend it. My hair has never felt this healthy. My first pedicure (age 70+) was done by Wendy back in late June and I've booked another one for next week. Due to severe back problems, doing my own pedicure is not an option anymore. I thoroughly enjoyed my relaxing foot massage, etc. The only downside was the bench without any back pillows for "drying time."
