If I could rate ZERO, I would! NEVER book here and have an emergency and have to cancel! YOU WILL STILL BE CHARGED ! I booked two facials on a Friday afternoon for an appointment Saturday at 12:45 and 1:00. My friend was feeling sick with fever and cough around 9pm. I send a Facebook message that we may possibly halve to cancel at 10:15 pm. Still no response. I spoke to the "lovely" sarcastic Erica on Saturday as soon as they open. She was very rude and zero compassion. I stated we both needed to cancel that both of us had been exposed to Covid and we were not aware of our hair clients positive test until the morning of our appt. she said "why did you even book those appts? " really?!!!!! We didn't know!! She said " I can cancel your friend and you can come". No thank you princess, I am an hour away and cannot leave my sick friend alone. Who is now positive for Covid. We both are in quarantine. Thanks for charging my card for cancelling same day because of an emergency. I would NEVER charge my clients! I hope you never enjoy the customer service level of rudeness we experienced from Erica. If this is the normal for Massage Envy nationwide, I will pass! read more

She even gave insight in some pretty great local restaurants to check out while we are in the area. My therapist, Courtney, also did a great job. I have had a membership with Massage Envy for 2 1/2 years and have yet to be able to use any of them because they are never available. I want to cancel SO BAD but you can't because they only give you 90 days to use your credits. So I'm fucked. I'm pregnant now so I can only see one person. Not only do you have to book him months in advance, I've gotten better massages from the jets in my bath tub. I just had my appointment with him, and he only massaged the right side of my body. And when he did do the left side, it was only the right side of my left limbs. I was laying on my left side because they do not have a bed for pregnant women, or a chair that we can sit in. It felt like he was very inexperienced when it comes to isolating muscles and massaging muscles. With my feet, he just squeezed them or would lightly brush the soles. My calves were just "rubbed" and he didn't do any muscle massages. Just rubbed the right side of each limb. And for some reason at the end, he pat my head before he said "well, OK then... I'm going to step out and get you some water." Idk about y'all, but I'm not a dog that needs to be pet. I asked the front desk if there was ANYBODY ELSE that could massage pregnant people and they said no. They asked me if I wanted to book another appointment and I said I would wait until I wasn't pregnant anymore. There's no way I would go back to him. Y'all can try this place out for yourself but DO NOT get the membership. You'll be constantly paying on it however you'll never be able to use those credits. Especially if your pregnant. read more

Hard to book with same therapist each time and I had a hard time finding ones that were constantly good. Do not like feeling rushed in and out. Desk staff was not very helpful and getting someone to answer the phones always took a few phone calls. I canceled my membership, would rather pay more for a less rushed and better quality massage. I like the Westin in Hilton Head better. You get what you pay for. read more

I would stay away from this business's membership program. They are severely understaffed and it is extremely difficult to get an appointment. I prefer deep tissue massages but have had to settle for a Swedish massage because they only had one masseuse available. I signed up for the membership program back in 2019 before COVID. Not feeling comfortable to get a massage during that time, I built up a large amount of credits for services. Now they are so backed up that all I can do is get an appointment 5 weeks out as the first available appointment. If I cancel my membership and stop the monthly payment, I have 2 months to use all my credits or they disappear. The manager stated that it is very difficult to get help. He would do everyone a service if he allowed them to continue to use their credits past the two months. The only other option is to pay $20 per month for them to manage my account but not get anything for the $20. Not a good business model and not even sure it is legal. read more

Worst "spa" to ever deal with. I can't speak about everyone there, but the front desk staff is rude, the manager is worse. Massages are mediocre. God forbid you want to cancel or freeze your account, they will treat you like dirt. I will never go back here. I drive an hour to go to another location to use up my credits. Save your money or do yourself a favor and spend an extra $20 somewhere else that will treat you with respect and actually give decent treatments. read more

I woke up in pain, found an open spot with Tia for a deep tissue massage, and reaped some immediate relief from the session! I'm not a Massage Envy user at home, but in a pinch and while traveling, I don't think you can beat the value and flexible schedules. read more

Very disappointed! You don't want to join here. Front desk girls are not super helpful or impressive. The massage therapists are known for giving subpar massages at best. Rubbing lotion is not a massage. There are two great massage therapists: Arkeem and Glenn. Glenn is really great! Since he stays booked, I have tried several others and each time I book a deep tissue massage....the massage therapists are either incapable of doing a deep tissue or do not understand what a deep tissue massage is. In fact, they don't even know how to do a good massage at all. I have been to many other Massage Envy locations and it just makes me frustrated when I come to Bluffton and don't get Glenn. I look forward to travel every month so I can get a good deep tissue massage at another Massage Envy location. It should not be unreasonable to expect a decent massage where they will actually use their thumbs to rub and massage your muscles not your skin rubbed with lotion. read more

My husband and I had a couples massage done. The room was nice and relaxing although a little small for two people and tables as far as the therapist getting around. I had Juanita as my massage therapist. She did ok as far as the back goes. Felt like she was new bc she didn't focus on my problem areas as much as I'd like. Plus, we ordered the sugar foot rub and barely got a foot rub. My like some scrub on my feet and hot rags. I was dis appointed there. My first massage there was great. After I joined however the massages started late and ended early. Staff were often congregating in the narrow hallway and socializing as clients tried to enter and exit. Strict membership cancellation policies only allow you to use unused massages (that you've paid for!) within a certain time frame or you can gift them to someone ( for a $10 fee!). I find it ridiculous that they require you to give credit card information over the phone just to book an appointment. I don't know your employees for anything to trust that they wouldn't steal my card information. I don't know that they would even properly dispose of the information if they wrote it down on a piece of paper so someone else wouldn't find it! This is a horrible policy that puts your customers at risk for their identities to be stolen! How do you expect to get new customers interested in your company? What if someone wanted to pay cash and didn't have a credit card? I'll be happy to find another place to go especially in the resort area that we live in. There are a lot of more quality options in the area rather than this chain. It's like comparing McDonalds to Ruth's Chris when comparing Massage Envy to an actual spa! Every year I visit my parents here and the last time I flew my back was incredibly sore. A few very irritating things that have stuck with me for over a year. The only thing that they were concerned with was signing me up for a massage envy that was not even close to where I was living in NYC at the time. Not very personal. My massage therapist showed up late and I could overhear her complaining that she was sick, gross. She not only gave me the worst massage of my life but she didn't even work on the most tight part of my back that was the reason that i went there in the first place. I've been back twice since my January review and had a new fellow, Travis, both times.. he was just wonderful. I would highly recommend him as well as Katheryn. if you do get Travis, he's a big guy and may need a reminder that less pressure is needed.. I will continue my visits every 6-8 weeks or so.. I always feel like I've been put back together again.. and I am getting used to a 25.00 gratuity as that seems to be a fair price for a 90 minute massage. read more

I'm a Massage Envy member from Fontana, CA, on vacation in Hilton Head, SC. I called the location in Bluffton to try to get an appointment. The clerk offered me a 16-minute massage (which I'm sure she knew I was not going to take). I have 4 hours on the books and I'm not sure you can break it up into 15-minutes increments...what would be the point of a 16-minute massage. I asked if anything else was available. She said "No!" The attitude of "I do not wish to help you" came through loud and clear. I thanked her. She hung up and I hung up. I am so glad for my home location where the people are courteous and pleasant to work with. read more

I joined Massage Envy in January and as it turns out it has been the best decision ever! Because of the monthly visits the muscles in my neck and shoulders have loosened up and the pain is gone!
