I have been a loyal member of this Massage Envy location for 4+ years, during which I received excellent care from therapists Antoine, Danielle, and Kelsey's amazing facials. However, due to recent systemic operational failures, an environment of staff collusion, and a total lack of follow-through from leadership, I cancelled my membership.7 They have a history of canceling appointments at the last minute due to therapist availability. While I previously tolerated these disruptions, a recent incident was highly problematic. After sustaining an injury, I booked a rehabilitation appointment and explicitly disclosed my physical condition. Just as I was leaving for the session, I received a text message canceling the appointment. No proactive effort was made to call or rebook me. When I called the clinic myself on August 19th, the front desk receptionist was defensive, indifferent to my injury, and combatively stated that my preferred therapists were unavailable, offering no alternative solutions. Following this phone call, I posted a review online outlining my poor experience. Local management publicly responded to my review, promising they would investigate the incident and reach out to me directly to resolve it. To date, I have received no phone call or follow-up from management. Faced with this silence, I attempted to use my remaining account credits today before finalizing my cancellation, as required by your membership terms. My experience during this visit further confirmed a toxic and unprofessional workplace. Upon my arrival today, the receptionist acknowledged me but was actively engaged on a phone call. Because she was occupied, I turned to the massage therapist to ask for the manager's name. The therapist immediately whisked me into the treatment room, demonstrating clear anticipation of conflict (based on prior internal staff discussions?). When I requested the name of the clinic manager, the therapist flatly refused to provide it and directed me back to the front desk, confirming that she and the rude receptionist had actively discussed the situation beforehand. i asked again, getting angry and she refused and walked OUT of the massage room stating I should probably leave. Due to this blatant stonewalling and lack of professional accountability, I became visibly irate. While I generally respect the assistant manager and appreciate that she explicitly acknowledged my long-term loyalty to this clinic, her ultimate focus was misplaced. Instead of addressing the hostile behavior of her staff that provoked the situation, she proceeded to lecture me on my angry reaction. This turned the conversation into a debate about my frustration rather than their staff's severe lack of sincerity and professional failure. As a customer service professional with 30 years of experience, I find this defensive, tone-policing, and obstructive behavior completely unacceptable. Your staff created an incredibly frustrating environment that provoked a natural reaction from an injured client, shifted the blame onto me, and ignored their own public promise to investigate and reach out. The staff failed to maintain basic professional standards, broke their word to follow up, and actively obstructed my ability to safely and comfortably use my contractually obligated credits. I would NOT recommend this location. Even a bad situation can be lightened with good staff attitude and offers for a remedy to the situation. Rude front office staff!!! They have extremely poor customer service skills at the front desk and the center manager is incompetent. I have been going to Massage Envys consistently for 15 years and I have never had an experience like the one at Crabtree on Edwards Mill. This was my 4th/5th visit at this location and the experience with staff has always been 'less pleasant that I have become accustomed' at Massage Envy. However, the massage therapist is amazing, so I drive past several locations to use his services. The front desk person very curtly informs me that my 2-hour massage appointment that I book out two months in advance was canceled. When I was upset, she raised her voice at me. Which I did not appreciate at all. Not only were they rude in the office, but they had the nerve to double down with an inappropriate text. I would probably not have taken the time to post this review had they not responded to my request for them to remove me from their text list the way that they did. It was really was shocking. You know that I just left without being able to get my monthly two-hour massage after driving 40 minutes to your location and you feel a passive-aggressive response is warranted and appropriate? Behavior like that is based on leadership making them think it is ok. The front desk staff was snarky and condescending rather than polite and understanding. The center manager pulled me in her office to defend their behavior, but did not apologize or offer a solution... she just wanted to 'make sure it doesn't happen again'... Lady, you're not fixing this situation - you think I would come back here... that's how it's going to not happen again. Go to another location. I visited today for a facial with Kelsey as a birthday gift to myself. Booking an appointment by phone was easy. Upon arrival Jasmine greeted me and I completed a clinic intake form to address my skincare concerns and medical history. Kelsey was punctual and escorted me back to the spa suites. I had a early appointment so the spa was very peaceful and quiet. I really enjoyed the products Kelsey used and felt so relaxed and rejuvenated after. Extractions were a breeze for my pores with the new electric tool she used. I've always had extractions done by hand with q-tips. The neck and shoulder pressure was perfect. I did not want to leave the spa table ! I'm looking forward to my next appointment and will be booking with a masseuse as well. Jasmine was friendly and helped me with signing up for a membership. I am deeply saddened by my experience and after years of doing business with this company our relationship has come to an end. I am grieving however I am going to try to explain with with the least amount of emotion possible. As a realtor and insurance broker facing a tough month I've learned yet another disturbing lesson about business. I have never once missed a payment with this business not even once yet there was no grace given towards this scenario. I have 3 months of credits on my account so I decided to book a massage this morning, to my surprise my payment did not process as it usually would on the 12th of every month. Once the representative informed me of this I immediately remembered why. I assured her I would clear this up on the 24th of this month due to a hardship I had just faced. I asked if we could freeze the payment to allow time to fix the issue. She then said she would send me a form to freeze the account but it would not take place until the payment was made. I then said that is fine, Am I able to book a session in the meantime? I was told not until the current payment is made. This was a shock to me because as I said I have 3 months of credits on my account. I am going to make the payment and simply terminate the membership. I was yet again baffled when I found out I wouldnt be able to use the 4 months of credits I have on the account until February of 2026.....WOWWW!!!! Great job massage envy. I enjoyed my membership thus far, I travel for work and have been able to book sessions in other states so its not a complete 1 star experience which is why I added 2 but for future reference a loyal customer should be treated better, there was absolutely no grace given here. I politely ended the conversation with the representative understanding this must be company and she was simply doing her job but this has definitely placed a bad taste in my mouth so my family and I will be looking elsewhere for spa services. I visited Massage Envy for the first time recently. This location was beyond my expectations. It began with a lovely phone conversation to set up my facial. I received an intro special of $65 for 60 minutes. Wooow! I met with Katie for my facial. Katie, a slender woman with wonderful skin herself, was amazing! We went back to the treatment room. It was a dim space with soothing music on. The bed was warm and it was so delightful slipping into the sheets. Katie worked slowly taking her time to ensure I would leave with a glowing face. My skin was glowing and hydrated. She was gently in her massage touch and blackhead removal. She is clearly a pro and all around expert. From start to finish, it felt as good an expensive experience at a posh hotel in Hawaii! I can not recommend Massage Envy and Katie enough. Today was my second time coming to this Massage Envy. After my first visit, I quickly concluded that Makaila would be my go to person from then on. You're greeted with an amazing, calm, aromatic vibe. All of the front desk workers greet me with smiling faces and make me feel welcomed. As for Makaila, she is such a gifted human. I can only hope that she truly understands the powers of her hands. I'm so lucky to have found her during this stage in her journey because I'm confident that her gift will continue to take her further and beyond. Good customer service is a non-negotiable requirement for any person or establishment I spend my money at. The 'customer service' at this Crabtree Valley location is sorely lacking (very superficial and transient). You ruined someone's birthday. Own that and try your best to fix your error. I went to Massage Envy at Crabtree Valley for the first time in December 2022. My first massage was great. Deep pressure as I requested. In fact I loved it so much I signed up for the membership on the spot. Fast forward to two months later. I schedule a total body stretch and massage for my birthday in Feb. While on my way to the appointment I received a call that the body stretch couldn't be done. It was a scheduling error they just discovered and the person who does that wasn't available. I was very annoyed but went ahead with the massage. It was the same masseuse I used before that made me want to get the membership. This time though the massage was weak and very disappointing even though I requested deep tissue. Thinking the person was just having a bad day I scheduled a facial and massage for my mom for the following week. I didn't tell her about my disappointing experience the week prior. When I picked her up she told me that her massage was not good. Not the pressure she requested. I calmly want inside to complain about this and my experience the week prior for my birthday. The person at the front desk couldn't care less. I was really upset because not only was my birthday experience ruined but so was my mom's. I calmly asked for a manager, and she said she was the manager. She offered an aromatherapy supplement free of charge for the next time but it was apparent she really didn't care . Updating my review to say that I have never had a massage here that wasn't stellar! We have been Massage Envy members for years now and this is the only location that we have been repeatedly happy with. We literally drive clear across town every time we get our massages. I don't know if they screen their masseuses better than the other locations we have been to, but I can book here with confidence that both Husband and myself will get great massages. We like 90 minute ones and like to go at the same time (but in different rooms), and they always manage to work it out for us. I've booked my other massages with Shannan, who does an amazing job as well(most recent Monday, 6/28/21). Massage Envy Crabtree's location is clean, the staff is courteous, and the massages are affordable. I had an issue with my leg, and Shannan worked around it. I'm never disappointed with the services. Gregory uses the right amount of pressure (I like max pressure with full tissue separation and Gregory does it right). I try to go at least once a month and always leave satisfied. Wellll..words can not express my Supreme Satisfaction :) with my first visit to Massage Envy. First of all, my back pain was soooo severe I could not sleep for 2 days straight. I looked a pitiful hot mess at work the next morning trying to do basic movements like walking...and reaching for things... without looking like a tool, and luckily I decided to search for a masseuse. Lauren , my first contact, was super cool and friendly, very professional along with the other two ladies at the front desk. Basic introduction of $65 and I was appointed tooo Mr. Ramahn (sorry if I spelled this wrong). My first massage like this (sadly) and Initially i was a little bit weirded out, but I got over that realllly quick. He was truly a godsend! Very personable, it felt like I was talking to a long lost friend and it wasn't awkward at all, I think I fell asleep too lol. He told me I would feel like I was beat up a little bit, but it should fade. AND YES IT DID! I am so impressed and happy again, words really just pale in comparison to the experience. I will say that Elizabeth is excellent and gives a lovely massage. I highly recommend her and give her a 5/5. But my recommendation is a 2 because of the cancellation policy for the membership. I was given a lovely gift card. I was talked into buying into the year membership " to save me money" I asked and was told that I could cancel at anytime. But when I attempted to cancel I was absolutely denied until next May. Carla told me that the person that signed me up was a 5 year district manager. Please consider this carefully because it is impossible to stop membership as I was told. Shame on me for not walking around the store to read the postings where evidently there is info stating otherwise. Always read the fine print. Misunderstanding about type of massage, and when twice tried to redirect in middle of massage, she still didn't apply appropriate pressure. There was some repeated inappropriate contact that I'm going to hope was accidental. Tried to talk to initial manager and her response was that this was what I'd asked for. I am rewriting my review because, although I was severely disappointed with the lack or professionalism and honesty at two of the locations I had an appointment with Dave at Obelund location and he is definitely good at his job. Having an injury that requires treatment is a slippery slope and Dave, in one session, was able to accomplish more than the others could in two. I was go to that location and be careful to ask for credentials of whomever you see. Also, if anyone tells you that you cannot transfer your reservations or that you have to give a credit card in advance, walk out. read more

While I was in the "quiet room" I heard a conversation between two employees discussing how many "add-on's" and "memberships" they had sold, which made me extremely relieved that no one had tried to sell me anything other than the hour I purchased. I only waited until my appointment time and was promptly taken back for my massage, which was extremely relaxing. I could not have been more pleased with my massage therapist, she was professional and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. So, after an hour of complete calm and relaxation, imagine my surprise when I go to the front desk to pay and I am given a 10 minute sales spiel about membership, add-ons, and other services, AND I am asked to purchase at that very moment. I stated that I would not be purchasing anything at that time but that I would take a brochure. The staff member did give me brochures, but then started walking me through the services listed and I honestly felt like I was at a car dealership being sold a car. I understand the idea/theory behind this...that you will have loved the experience so much that you are primed to purchase. However, after stating that I came to relax and decompress in my initial meeting I do not understand the strong sales pitch. I also do not appreciate the hard sell continuing after I asked for a brochure (which is a polite way to say no). I honestly feel like the last 10 minutes of the experience negated the previous hour, and I am extremely disappointed to say that I would not recommend this spa to others based on the sales technique being employed by Massage Envy. Terrible customer service. Take your business anywhere else. When making a couples appointment for my girlfriend and I the receptionist reminded me of the cancellation policy. Failure to provide 24 hours notice of cancellation or failure to show will result in your credit card being charged the full amount. I was also called and reminded of this policy via phone calls twice in the past three days. They subsequently cancelled on me with 6 hours notice. No effort was made by the therapist to have someone cover her shift and the business was fine with this lack of professionalism. The rationale for the cancellation was changed between the original 10am phone call and my conversation with the manager, Ashley, 7 hours later. Furthermore, Ashley was confrontational and rude on the phone while discussing the lack of policy reciprocity. I felt like she was trying to make me angry and wanted bad reviews. Like where do I even begin... You could hear the girls in the back cussing and throwing around the F-bomb while they dramatically gossiped about another employee. I handed my filled out form to the girl at the front and told her what I was hearing. She looked shocked and led me to a quiet room with a fake fireplace. Real classy. My massage therapist was very nice, but the massage was a bit painful. I thought there was suppose to be some relaxation to it at some point. I will NEVER go here again! I've had numerous massages over the past few years at different places and I have NEVER had such a "cruel" experience. She asked what areas I wanted worked on I said my legs and lower back. And that I want light pressure. The massage starts off with blasting a fan facing her and I. I get cold quick but because I was pretty warm from the heat outside I was okay with it. But it seemed it didn't matter what I would have wanted as she stated as she turned it on "I can't work in heat so I need a fan." She begins working on my legs and it HURT so bad at first, I jumped. She asked if it was too much pressure and I said yes it was. I know my body is quite tense at times and I have SOME "knots" so I let her work them out. AS the massage goes on she asked again about the pressure. I told her it's too much. And then another time I informed her again it was too much. She worked on the left side of my back (hurt). Got to my right (which on my sheet I wrote and told her about shoulder blade damage I'm now going to physical therapy for) she worked and worked on it. And I told her it was a lot of pressure. But she assured me she was just "having trouble getting a knot out". It got to the point that I was profusely sweating from nervousness/pain. Good thing she had a fan blasting on us! I stopped saying to use less pressure because after she was done on an area it felt okay. So when she asked, I said yes it's fine. I get home, and I have dents under my knee caps. Turns out it's from damage to cartilage! My feet are throbbing in pain. My shoulder blade feels "different", I can't tell if it's a good different or bad. Guess I'll let my physical therapist determine that this week! (My PT confirmed that more damage had been done!) I went here because my sister got me a gift card to use to de-stress after having my baby. I gave birth naturally and I could do that all day, everyday. But this massage...don't make me go there ever again. You couldn't pay me to. THAT massage. THAT HURT!!! read more

I really don't feel comfortable patronizing an establishment that can speak to me in a rude manner but quite happily accept my membership fees (ie.money!). On a whim I scheduled a facial with Jonathan at the ME Crabtree Valley location. Woo hoo! Can you say "Back in business"??!! The absolute worst customer service i have ever experienced. i called early in the day to secure an appointment--called twice. I let staff know i had fallen and they took my credit card information to reserve the spot for 5:00 pm. A few hours later when i arrived to my appointment, they took all of my personal information down (they also have my credit card info), then after 30 minutes, refused service because i had fallen. They then refused to destroy my credit card information and my personal information--said it was their property now and I couldn't do anything about it. I asked them to shred and they refused. Not only do they have enough information on me for identity theft, they kept me tied up from the time i made my appointment until 5:15 pm, so i was unable to secure an appointment with a different massage facility.
