Terrible company! Wife, and I have scheduled 4 separate appointments well in advance to come here. All 4 times the appointments were canceled, or rescheduled last minute by them for "emergencies". This business is garbage. We had a membership here for years (due to the fact that its a pain to cancel) and they mostly 70% of the time cancelled on us and then it would take another month to get another appointment scheduled. But if you accidentally missed an appointment, then you get charged the full appointment cost, which the one time we did, it was a two hour charge, which was $180 or more down the drain. We asked to talk with manager many times, and they told us they would call us back, and they never call back. They never give you any credits or discounts when they cancel so many times. I am not sure if other Message Envy's are as bad as this one, but I do not recommend this one. Elements message is pretty much across the street and has much better customer service and value. read more

The bad reviews here surprise me because I've never had a bad experience here at all outside of having to make appointments like a month in advance. The deep tissue massages I've received from Huss (pronounced Hoos, btw, sorry for always mispronouncing it, dude, just found that out today) and Ryan have been incredible and today I had a facial with Chere that blew my mind. She identified a skin issue that I've been having for over a year that I was told was BLACKHEADS as an allergic reaction / rash. She described why it was a rash versus other issues and really gave me peace of mind and self-confidence back. This location never upsells products or membership too hard either which I really appreciate. Thank you, Chere!!!!! I will be back for more massages and now facials :) read more

I've been here twice and both times with two different people, the massage sucked. I asked for deep tissue and got someone who sat down on a rolling stool to massage me. All he did was my left shoulder the entire hour. When I asked what was going on he said he saw swelling on my body and he couldn't rub swelling. What!? I'm 37 and active and not overweight or anything. I wasn't swollen anywhere. I left a negative review oN my survey so the manager calls me and asks me to come back but doesn't offer any discount lol. She basically just said hey come waste your money again. No thanks. What awful management. read more

What a horrible experience! My son purchased 2 gift cards for $70 each - one for me and one for my sister. Several weeks ago, we reserved 2 spots for today at 10:00am. We arrived at 9:45 and called from the parking lot, as instructed. They told us to come in to fill out some information. After some system problems, we filled out our information on a tablet and waited for our massage therapists to call us in. My sister's therapist came to get her at 10:10 and I continued to wait for mine. Keep in mind that they are no longer using the quiet room (I assume because of COVID) so I was sitting in the front lobby, approximately 6 feet from the 2 front desk workers. Neither worker acknowledged my wait. At 10:30, I approached one of the workers to see if my massage therapist even knew I was there. It was only then that they began looking for her and realized that she hadn't even showed up today. They called her and she told them that she didn't know that she had a 10:00 appointment! They had no other therapists available, and It was halfway through my sister's massage by this time so I asked to have the gift card refunded. She called her manager and was told that they couldn't refund a gift card if it was purchased with a credit card. They wouldn't even refund it back to my son's card! I had already wasted one morning there and I had no intention of ever returning, so we ended up combining both gift cards ($140) to pay for my sister's massage ($115) and giving the remainder as a tip to her therapist. The massages are great, the prices are great, and most of the staff are great. However, trying to get an appointment with less than 2 weeks notice is nearly impossible. I won't lie - I love to get massages. The things are just so dag-gone expensive that I only go for special occasions, or when my body is really out of whack and my chiropractor recommends I get additional treatment. So, when trying to make an appointment for the latter, it's nearly impossible to take advantage of the location of Massage Envy (3 blocks from my chiropractor) and the great prices. There have been at least 10 occasions in the past year when I have tried to book an appointment and I am not able to get anything for at least 2 weeks. I know they are busy and it really says something about their business, but it is very frustrating to not book with my favorite therapist (especially when I end up paying double for a half-decent massage elsewhere). So - if you have the ability to book in advance, this is definitely the place to go. Oh - just be prepared for several people to try to get you to sign up for a membership. Made an appointment for me and my husband, mine a prenatal and his a regular. We have an extremely tight schedule and were very much looking forward to a nice massage. Showed up and turns out they only booked for one of us and they were completely booked that day so we made sure we wouldn't be charged and left. Super disappointing. read more

My massage membership ends already but i have 2 session left before i no longer go here. I regret getting a membership, it's so inconvenient. They take your monthly payment regardless if you show up or not. When you set up an appointment it takes a month to get in. I can go on and on but i no longer like this place. Best Spa I have ever been to! I love the decor of the spa the front desk was very nice and polite, making sure I was paired with the best therapist to address my concerns. I saw a very good therapist, I think her name was Stacy she was amazing and really worked out my problem areas. Would suggest this spa to anyone! read more

Why didn't I read the reviews before choosing this location? Very odd energy upon arrival. I booked online a few days ago, somehow they didn't have my reservation. They tried to get ahold of a different massage therapist that had, "just left", but failed. The person who I believe to be the manger kept trying to make it clear to me that I made an error when I booked online. I can't confirm nor deny that, but even if I did, how are we going to fix it now? They showed very little effort in trying to find a solution. I ultimately just left. This was my first experience with the chain, and unfortunately I can't speak to the quality of a massage at this location, but as far as customer service goes, they definitely set the bar pretty low. read more

I spent an extra $10 for aromatherapy and the woman rubbed some oils on her hands, shoved them in my face and told me to take 3 deep breaths.. definitely not what I've experienced other places and not what I expected. read more

Membership massage has it's pluses and minuses. It works well if you plan to get regular massage every week or two regularly. Each therapist is different and I have has good experiences here all three times. The locations are convenient around the US. Membership with auto withdraw from checking is just like a health club so you should be sure you will use it. The monthly massages that come with the fee add up as credits but they are not transferrable and you lose them I'd you cancel membership. read more

I have been a member for a year and have been very happy. I use several locations and have been pleased with all facilities. A massage Therapist I loved took on a new career and thankfully I found Jonna in Florence today that was a perfect replacement. I was thinking about not renewing just because I feel like it's a splurge but after today, Jonna reminded me non-verbally why I do this for myself each month. If you've not been, you should try it but communicate your expectations for the result you're looking for. I like deep tissue massage, some like a soft relaxing massage but speak up so you're not disappointed and find a therapist match just for you. Kudos Jonna read more

I have been here before and plan to go again. Would recommend. Everyone says they are always busy and it is hard to get an appointment but to me that's a good thing. If all the therapists are booked and busy that tells me it's worth the wait. If you tell me a place has 4 therapists are open all day I'm going to think what's wrong with that place and I have been to some other places like that. read more

Warning - I have been going to Massage Envy for some time now and have been very pleased with the experience and especially my therapist. However, when I just called to cancel my membership (they charge an amount automatically each month on my credit card), I was told that I had to have a doctor's note in order to cancel. No doctor's note/prescription, etc. is needed in order to become a member of Massage Envy. But they stated that I had to see a doctor and get a note saying that massage was no longer necessary. What??? I was extremely upset with this and asked to speak with a manager. She said since I was outside my 12-month agreement they would waive that, but otherwise, yes, I would need a note. I have had my membership for about 2 years now. Up until recently I would have given a 4-5 star rating...During the last 3-4 months my rating for Massage Envy has dropped to 2 Stars due to poor/inept leadership and immature front desk staff. So, the past 2 months now I have received an apology from the management team and better service at the front desk. My rating is now at 3 Stars and perhaps will go up as time goes by. I do have a complaint about the cost/price increase of $10 more per month and I don't see any benefit for the additional cost for me, the customer plus the amount of the tip for the therapist is based on the cost of the massages so this will increase as well. Management STILL is on vacation during business hours. I have been in the shop at various times and rarely have I actually observed anyone in the Managers office. When no one from management is present how you provide 100% customer service. If I am paying more for service I expect more of a leadership presence since you all did get a pay raise from me... read more

WORST massage I have had in my life. I get massages regularly, and I have never had one that wasn't even semi-enjoyable. But this was just awful. I could get a better massage from my dog walking on my back. I went in with a horrible headache, told my therapist this and not once did she massage my scalp or my face. The entire massage, all I could focus on was how loudly she was breathing, and how bright the room was despite me telling her to dim the lights, again because I had a horrible headache!! Every massage I've ever had, they put an eye mask over your eyes with hot stones or something of that nature. I asked her if she could put something over my eyes and she put a cold random towel over my face that kept falling off every five seconds. The bed was cold after 10 minutes. I would never recommend this place to anyone and will definitely not be going back!! Only good thing about my experience was the blonde lady at the front desk Carolyn (I think was her name) was extremely nice and welcoming when I walked in. Other front staff had nasty looks on their faces and didn't even say hello when I walked in. First time customer, and definitely LAST time customer. read more
