I'm beyond furious to have to say that I was secretly recorded while undressing by a long time massage therapist, Kennerh Spears at this location inside of Hamilton Place Mall. I was a paying member of this Massage Envy for 7 years & received many massages from Kenny including 2 massages AFTER he was captured on his own video, setting up his phone in the massage room to secretly record me. As a monthly paying member, I trusted that I was safe & that measures were in place to ensure my safety however there were none. I was a sitting duck and didn't know it. Be aware and watch your back because Massage Envy showed me that there was nothing in place to protect me from being secretly recorded by a propped up cellphone in the massage room while I was undressing & absolutely expected privacy. read more

Wasted my time coming here. It's states EVERYWHERE that they take walk ins. But you go in and the first thing they say is " welll...we arreeee appointment based" that's fine. My father was so excited to get his scheduled (tension relief session) with Oriental. On Friday October 25, 2024 his appointment was confirmed for his 11:30AM appointment on Saturday, October 26, 2024. He was contracted a hour before his scheduled appointment to state his appointment has been canceled. But, if the client cancel same day they will still charge you for the service. They didn't offer to reschedule him to a later time today or help him contact another location for same day service. He was disregarded as "oh well stuff happens and your schedule appointment is canceled". The lack of empathy was unbelievable! read more

Excellent service. The staff at front desk is very friendly. Wanted to mention after my appointment, when I was in my car, I realized I forgot my jewelry. I was the last appointment for the day , so was worried the place had closed. I called immediately and was able to speak to someone. The person at front desk ( sorry forgot names) waited for me outside studio to come back to get my jewelry. I appreciated it very much and big shout out to therapist for turning it in. Had the best 90 min massage from Stephanie. She did a deep massage and knew exactly the areas to focus on. She will be my person to ask for. Highly recommend Stephanie!! read more

Terrible experience! Not worth the time and money. I went for a 60 min massage yesterday. My appointment was for 7:00 pm. She did not come and get me from the waiting room until 7:10. I requested medium pressure with focus on my shoulders and back. I have been having chronic shoulder pain and was looking forward to the massage and was also planning on getting a membership. Once she came back in after I was undressed she had food in her mouth and was trying to give me instructions. In the beginning of the massage she was chewing her food which was not relaxing. During the massage she barley touched my shoulders which was what I was there for. She also just rubbed the oil on me and then I was done. There was no pressure at all even when I requested more. The massage ended at 7:53. So she got me late and she ended early. I left there and did not join the membership because if that is what is acceptable then I'm not joining. read more

I went to this location a couple of months ago and left feeling irritated and not relaxed. I paid for an hour massage not knowing I was actually paying for a 45 minute massage and a 15 minute "consultation" They start the time the minute you walk in their front door. Very disappointed. Along with the misleading times and pricing they shove their membership down your throat the minute you walk in as well. The white haired lady at the front desk was very pushy and made for a very unpleasant experience. Will not try this place again. read more

I had Brandon for a 60-minute massage, and he was so sweet!! I'm very active and need bodywork done regularly, and he was very accommodating and attuned to what I needed. He even ran through the parking lot after I left to give me a necklace I had forgotten in the massage room. I will be coming back! read more

My first massage session at the Massage Envy Hamilton Place was outstanding. I had lots of leg and arm pain from my neuropathy when I went in and Austin my therapist was a Godsend. Service truly is hit or miss with the massage therapists. It is very difficult for me to get appointments due to therapists' schedules, I'm noticing. Receptionists have been known to not answer the phone and scream at customers (yes, you read that right!), though they seem to have hired more professional personnel. I've been considering canceling my membership for months now. read more

The 90-minute massage was more of a 75-minute massage. The sad part is, I was okay with being shorted 15 minutes, because it was not relaxing or enjoyable. The only way I know to describe the experience is mechanical and militant. I have had a lot of massages in my life and this ranks among the worst I have ever had. The therapist started on my left arm and shoulder, and I thought she was doing going to spend the entire 90-minutes there. When she did finally move on, it was rushed and not relaxing. I specifically asked for focus on shoulders, lower back and feet, and those areas got the LEAST focus. And the best part.... This crappy service cost a whopping $173!!!! I almost choked when I was given the amount. I would TOTALLY expect to pay that at an upscale spa or salon, but at Massage Envy??? Really??? They're like the Dollar General of spas. If you're going to charge those prices, HIRE SOME BETTER THERAPISTS and elevate the entire experience. What a waste of money! read more

This place is pretty awesome when it comes to getting a massage. I tried a few different therapists at first, trying to find someone I feel comfortable with, and after about 3 I finally found Kennesha. Kennesha is the best massage therapist I've found. Funny thing is my sister loves Kennesha too, and neither of us recommended her to the other. I'll admit I did sign the 12 month contract, but I honestly have enjoyed it and it has improved my life to regularly take time and do something for myself. read more

I previously had a terrible massage experience with a different company so when my husband gave me a gift card for this location i wasnt thrilled. I am 8 months pregnant so he convinced me to give it a shot. I expressed to them how painful and uncomfortable my previous massage experience was and they listened and expressed my concerns to my massage therapist. I had a wonderful massage and she was very gentle with me as requested. When i was checking out i was offered a 3 massage package to get the most out of my gift card rather than some pushy sales pitch i read from previous reviews. To much competition in the city to put up with foolishness! I received a gift card from my husband for Christmas and I waited a while to use it bc this would only be my second massage in my life and I've always been uneasy and nervous about it anyways. So I decided to finally make an appt and I called over the phone, conversation was short, no questions were asked (what I preferred, if I'd ever had a massage before, etc) we picked a date and time and that was it. Showed up that day for my appt and was super excited bc I work out quit a bit and I'm super active at work, so I was excited to relax and finally feel better after being so tight and sore for so long! Walk in and I'm greeted by a girl who quickly takes me back to the "waiting area" where I'm handed a tablet to answer some questions about my body. I get done, set the tablet down and start checking the place out, at that point I notice a male worker walk down the hall and suddenly I'm overwhelmed with anxiety! Now don't get me wrong, I'm not a crazy feminist or anything! But the thought of a man touching me just gave me the creeps! A few moments later the girl walks back in to ask if I'm done with the questions and I say yes, then I ask if I have a preference as to if I have a male or female masseuse?! Then she gets an attitude with me saying I should have said that when I made the appointment?! ARE YOU KIDDING?! I was shocked that she said that! When I called to make the appointment she clearly could see I had NEVER been there before and how could she know this wasn't my first massage ever?! Massage Envy should come up with BASIC questions asked when someone calls! Have you ever been here before?, Is this your first massage?, WHAT IS YOUR PREFERENCE? MALE OR FEMALE? Don't count on your appointment being serviced! I had scheduled a massage for my husband and I a few weeks ago and got a call this morning that our appointments could not be serviced. Note to massage envy... DON'T schedule your employees on their day off!!! First thing is we live out of town and 2nd this was a surprise for my husband for our 13th anniversary. I'm so disappointed!! I was having severe neck, back, and shoulder pain. My chiropractor suggested I get a massage. I did a 90 minute with muscle therapy with Stephanie. She was so great. She asked about my concern areas and made sure to focus where I really needed the massage. During the massage she made sure the pressure was comfortable. She is really great at her job. I have not had severe pain since I've been there (just a dull ache). At first I thought the price was pretty high but I see why now. They reel you in with a $40 1 hour introductory massage but they don't let you leave without an aggressive sales pitch for their "health club." My very first question to the sales associate was "Is this a contract for a certain period of time, or can I opt out any time I want?" She emphatically waved her hands and shook her head, "Oh no no no! We don't do contracts here! You can terminate at any time, you'll just save a lot of money on the massages you get while you're in the club." Ok, sounds great, why not sign up? I'll take part of the blame for not reading all the fine print on what I was told was simply a waiver to join the club. But, silly me, I just assumed a business wouldn't look me in the eyes and tell flat out lies to me. I signed, then after a month realized I was not going to use the health club membership enough to make it worth it, and I really don't have the funds to just throw away on something I won't use. I called to cancel. The girl at the desk couldn't help me but said a manager would call me back and she could take care of canceling the membership. I never received a call, so a couple days later I called back and was able to get the manager on the phone. She said I signed a 12 month CONTRACT and could not terminate unless I moved more than 25 miles away from a Massage Envy or had a doctor's note stating that I couldn't receive massages for medical reasons. When I told her that her employee lied to me about the terms that I was agreeing to, she said "I can send you a copy of what you signed." I asked whether she cared at all that her employees were lying to customers to get them to sign contracts and she, again, responded with, "I can send you a copy of what you signed." What a joke!!! I am extremely disappointed in this company. For an entire year I paid my $60 fee every month and Massage Envy had no issues with collecting their money on time. As a single mother, I found that I was not always able to find the time to make an appointment to go in an use one of my accrued massages so at the end of my contract I had 5 massages in bank. I called them in a timely manner to have my account deactivated to avoid additional monthly fees charged to my credit card. This was the first of October 2015. I went in to the location at Hamilton Place on November 7th only to be told that I no longer had any massages available to me because I canceled my membership and failed to use them within 30 days. First problem is this, if a person accrues 5 massages over a 5 month period and does not have the time to use them all, how are they supposed to use them within 30 days?? Secondly, it is of my opinion that when you take money from people and do not provide them with a service, then you are stealing from them. At $60 a month for 5 months, that is $300 that Massage Envy took from me and have failed to deliver the service I paid for. Stealing is stealing, even if you attempt to wrap it up in a pretty little bow called "policy". Massage Envy is one of the most unethical businesses I have ever dealt with and will tell anyone who will listen from this point forward to run for the hills before agreeing to let this company charge, I mean steal, from them every month. read more
