$130 an hour for a massage is reasonable high but they don't tell you that you only get 50 minutes. They include 10 minutes of dressing and undressing as part of your massage. I've had many massages and never ran into that one! Never will go back. read more

Terrible communication/awareness of remaining useable credits after membership cancellation. "It doesn't show them"...allegedly. 3 credits were wasted because of miscommunication and there's nothing that can be done about it. Hopefully they enjoy their donation. This location is a joke. First they sold my husband a gift card for me for a maternity massage as a surprise for me. Then called to cancel it because they don't have a qualified masseuse. And not just that day, no one at that location!! Now post-pregnancy still trying to get an appointment to spend the card and can't get in. read more

I have had numerous massages here, but recently I came in for a 90 minute specialized facial with Cindy. My skin has never looked or felt so great! She walked me through each step of her process and also gave tips on how I could do the same things at home as well as explaining what products she used and why. This is a great Massage Envy location in Hoover, AL. The services at this location are always good. What you should also know is that this location has great management. Reagan, the manager, is very kind and responsive and obviously cares about providing a good customer experience. I know this personally because I had some issues with our account dating back to 2014 and Reagan showed immediate interest and helped us get the issues resolved. read more

Massage Envy is a must to visit when I'm in Birmingham. The staff is wonderful and you can't beat the price. I was recommended to Will to be my massage therapist and it was a great experience. I usually go for the sports massage due to my high activity level in sports and working out. Although I've had the deep tissue and hot stone treatments and now Will helps me decide which is better for me on that day. I enjoy Massage Envy in Atlanta (piedmont Rd.) but when I'm in Birmingham I find my visit to massage envy very relaxing every time. I don't write a lot of yelps but the ones I do are on places that are either very good or very bad that I come across. I have never felt compelled to review a business establishment before, but I must RAVE about my experience at Massage Envy in Hoover. I called for an appointment today because of chronic neck and back pain due to arthritis. I was desperate for some relief. The front desk staff a was very knowledgeable and professional . They assessed my condition and put me with Scott as my therapist. When I came in, they took even more time to find out what was going on with me to pass along to Scott. I have had massages with many different therapists, and i have to say, this was the best experience ever! They really understand chronic pain and know how to help. AMAZING! I had recently cancelled my membership and am also in the process of moving. So with no off days from work I scheduled at 5pm. They call the day before to cancel so I reschedule for the following Wednesday which is my only day off from work. Call me the morning of at my work number to cancel. Now I only have a few days left to use my last massages, no off days and about to leave the state. I asked for a call back from a manager and never received one. read more

This was my first visit at massage envy and I am so glad I went. Chris massage all the pain out of my shoulders, neck and wrist. He applied the right amount of pressure that I like and I was not sore. I had an overall good experience. I did not get pressured into getting a membership and I went there to sign up for one. The girl at the front desk told me to take a brochure and think about it and decide when I come back. After reading the reviews I will wait on a membership, but I definitely will be back. I paid less than I was expecting because of the introductory price not shown online, so that was a plus!! I am looking forward to my next massage. I have repeatedly asked the staff to cancel my membership and I constantly being put off and lied to with regards to a member of the management team contacting me. First off, let me begin by saying that I am not the type of person to complain. In fact, I've never even left a review before on any type of media in my life. Massage Envy in Hoover, however, deserves this one. Back in December, I received a free $25 gift card because I spent several hundred dollars buying gift cards for my family. This week, I finally made the time to get a massage (which is rare), and I have been looking forward to it all week long. I had not been to Massage Envy in over a year, so I received the $55 introductory rate. Upon my arrival, I was told by the extremely rude front desk lady (wish I would've gotten her name) that "THERE AIN'T NO MONEY ON THAT GIFT CARD YOU RESERVED WITH." I calmly explained to her that I received this gift card because I had spent so much money in there in December. She continued arguing that there was no money on the gift card (extremely rude). I told her "I understand that, but there must be a mix-up, because I have not been to massage envy in over a year, and the gift card has been in my wallet since December untouched." She continued arguing and said that some lady named ****** had used my gift card. I told her I had no idea who that person was, and I must have received an already used/$0 gift card by mistake. This conversation continued on for several minutes. Continuing to be her rude self, she told me "I was welcome to get the massage today but it would be $55." This was laughable. $55 is a CHEAP massage, but did she honestly think I was going to spend another dollar in that establishment after basically being called a liar and a thief? I don't think so. I told her I would pass on the massage, and that I/my family/my friends would never be spending another dollar at Massage Envy. I don't know how this location continues to stay in business with her handling the front desk. I have never been treated like that in my life. If I was a business owner, whoever was working at 12 PM on April 26, 2018, would be released from that position and never work in a customer service position again. I scheduled an appointment at the Massage Envy in Hoover over a week in advance and received a reminder phone call and voicemail the day before my scheduled massage to confirm the time and date. I arrived at the location at the scheduled time and they claimed that my appointment was on a different day. I told them I had received a voicemail confirming that the appointment time was, in fact, when I thought it was. They "apologized" by telling me that they have made the same mistake in the past and there was nothing they can do. They have a policy stating that clients must cancel at least 1 day before the massage to avoid wasting the therapist's time and I find it disrespectful and unprofessional that they don't hold themselves to the same standards. They were unapologetic and appeared unconcerned by the mistake. Don't waste your time on the poor customer service at this Massage Envy. read more

I put in a request for an appointment on Wednesday for Thursday. They never got back to me so I called them Thursday morning. When I called they said they did not have a slot open that is why they did not call me back, but they would see what they could do and call me back. They never called back, so I called again and they said they could not take me. So I found another place to go. Then they called me back again and said they were responding to my original request that I put in on Wednesday. I was so confused. It should not have been that hard to communicate. They may give good massages and at a good price, but I need folks to be straight with me and organized. It was frustrating. read more

It's been five years since I went to massage envy and now I remember why I just avoided that completely. My massage therapist Bradley was amazing as far as his professionalism and being sweet. But I didn't feel like he wanted to be there and I didn't feel like he wanted to be working on me. I hate to say this but the massage was very boring and basic just like it was five years ago. I didn't really appreciate the fact that I felt like I was being pressured to do a membership. Over the phone they were so excited because I thought I was going to do an ember ship they thought I was going to do a membership but when I got there I realized that I just did not need to do a membership. She wanted me to sign up for membership before I had even had my massage. So thank God I waited until after. After my massage I came out and I decided that I do not want to do a package she gave me the introductory price which was very kind of her but the massage was not worth the money at all. The only thing that felt good was the foot massage and the scalp massage. The membership is a total waste of money to be completely honest. This is why if you find a really good massage therapist you got to treat them right take good care of them the way they took good care of you and I should've taken my $50 to a foot massage place. I would strongly discourage getting a membership here. My husband and I have had a horrible time finding appointment availability. When I finally find a massage therapist that actually knows what they're doing and doesn't have body odor or smell like cigarette smoke, they leave. I showed up once for an early morning massage and the receptionist didn't show up, so the therapist and I couldn't enter the building. Recently, my 90 minute massage was cancelled 25 minutes prior to the start-time. I had arranged my entire day to accommodate this massage since available times are limited. This massage had been booked over a month in advance. I requested to have the manager call me to discuss and still haven't heard from him. We've tried to cancel my husband's membership for months and they just can't seem to get the cancellation request processed correctly.
