I went to Massage Envy for a free facial and was really looking forward to it. The place was nice and clean, and the staff was cool too. They even had some light refreshments which was a nice touch. When I told them I had sensitive skin, they seemed to be understanding at first. The esthetician started the facial, but halfway through she stopped and said the products might be too harsh for me. It kinda sucked cause I didn't really get the full experience. I get that they didn't wanna risk irritating my skin, but I wish they had more options for sensitive types. Felt like a waste of time lowkey. They did encourage me to book a full facial so that I could customize my products I can get but I'm a little afraid to go back . I've now had two disappointing experiences at this massage envy (midtown union Ave). The first time 6-19-25, my wife booked me a hot stone massage, but I never received the hot stones and no explanation was given. Today 7-15-25, I booked my wife a full body massage and a foot scrub massage. She only received the body massage, even though both services were paid for in advance. This isn't about the quality of the massages themselves, but about the lack of attention to detail and not delivering what was promised and paid for. When this happens once, it can be an oversight. When it happens twice, it shows a pattern of poor management and disregard for the customer experience. It's very frustrating to spend money on specific treatments and not have them honored or even acknowledged. I hope the business takes this feedback seriously and improves its booking and service process so others don't have the same experience. read more

Be warned and Beware!!!!!! As a member I scheduled an appointment for my sister at the midtown location. After inquiring if I could give my appointment as a gift, I was informed it would not be an issue. However, there is a $10 transfer fee (which was not disclosed, but fortunate enough for me, I read my initial contract) that should not have been an issue. I confirmed appointment via telephone as well as text confirmation prior to appointment. After sister drives across town to indulge in what was thought to be climax for her Sunday afternoon. She was met with the most unpleasant employee conveying to her I must authorize appointment. I called ME to authorize only to get telephone prompt "business not taking calls". After contacting my sister who after 15 of disclosing confirmation emails as well as expressing the $10 is not a problem she, of course left establishment. Not once did the employee welcome her to massage (especially after already having debited my account) that was clearly paid for. Nor did employee reach out to me, via call or text. ME has great masseuse but this franchise is a rip off. read more

I booked an appointment and never received the confirmation. So I called at least 5 times on the day of the appointment to ensure all was well, I got no answer - phone goes directly to voice mail. I drove to the appointment, waited in the lobby for approximately a minute before the young lady came from the back (she was on a personal call). October 29, 2022, I had a massage scheduled for this particular day and you all called the day of and called and cancelled due to the therapist being out. The unforeseen happens in our life all of the time and we attempt to explain this to you as establishment but you all will still penalize us and take away a credit from us so with this being said it is only fair that we as paying customers and or patriots get the same fair treatments as such. You all cancel my appointment on the same day as my appointment so there should be some type of reasonable accommodation made to me as well. This is only right and fair. I give 4 stars to this location and 5 stars to my massage therapist Dalicia. I have a monthly membership, which is well worth it. It is decorated very nicely and there is a special tranquility room for customers with monthly memberships. They offer an assortment of beverages (different teas, coffee, and water) and candy (mints, butterscotch). The candy bowl reminds me of candy my grandmother would have in her purse (lol). This location sometimes have events and I think that's really cool. It took me about three tries before I found the best massage therapist; some are too rough, don't do enough, or don't apply enough pressure. Dalicia is the best! I love getting my scalp massaged and there are some therapist that don't do it or consider to ask. I never have to ask Dalicia. If I ever win the power ball, I'm taking Dalicia...sorry Massage Envy lol. read more

This place is convenient!! They don't have everything on sight or with available times for what I really wanted. Overall Mrs. Williams was great. She was professional, great personality and experienced massage therapist 10+years. She deserved the gratuity. Only complaint I would have overall is the music, TRASH!! I want some calming music if I had known that I should've bought my headphones I would've. I just couldn't relax fully with the awkward music it was more for a doctors office or waiting room not the actual massage. My husband and I flew in on vacation and went straight for a massage after checking into the hotel. Tria was fantastic! She had read my notes from my home based location and had everything set up. She offered me a chest pillow that takes the pressure off a woman's chest during a massage, I live in a tourist destination and we don't even have these. If I could give a negative score I would. I was a 10+ year member. I loved my therapist, Shirley, she's the best. I canceled my membership because the customer service was horrible and that included the management. They constantly had new staff and the good people never stayed long. The front desk staff was unprofessional and untrained. I've seen sitting at the desk eating breakfast in the morning and hot wings in the evening. From reading other comments, I see that I'm not the only one to have bad experiences with the Union location. The bad customer service made it difficult to relax during my sessions. I'm unsure what happened the last four or five years, but the customer service was horrible. .....completing the surveys don't mean a thing because you're NEVER contacted. Very rude staff and horrible customer service- I received a gift card for a 60 minute massage and made an appt in person several weeks ago which was completed by both a manager AND receptionist. I received the texts to confirm my appt which I did. 3.5hrs prior to the appt I was called by a very rude staff member informing me that because my appt was scheduled in a 90 minute slot that I would have to either arrive early (which I could not) and pay the 30 minute difference or cancel my appt. I was confused as to why I was being penalized for the scheduling error on their part to which the staff member just sat in silence then again asked if I wanted to cancel or come early and pay extra. I again voiced my frustration as it seemed they had the time to accommodate the original appt but would not. Unfortunately, there's absolutely nothing good to be said for the actual massage. I went here one off-weekend when I couldn't get in to see my regular massage therapist at my place of employment. To be honest, I had heard all the negative, but it was cheap and given that I get massages pretty cheap at work, I'm spoiled (what can I say, at least I admit it) and refuse to pay a lot to get them done. Didja ever see the episode of Friends where Ross decides to massage Phoebe's old man client, has no idea what to do and starts poking at him with kitchen utensils? That's how I felt. There was no pressure - and I don't even like heavy handed massages. I was totally uncomfortable within the first 10 minutes, simply because either she had no clue what she was doing or she just didn't care. The place is clean and everyone was friendly enough, but it just doesn't do a massage justice. If you've never had one before, you could go here and be none the wiser. However, if you get massages frequently, I would guess you'd be as disappointed as I was. read more

The best thing about Massage Envy is the price. It's relatively inexpensive to get an hour-long massage. Sadly, with massages, you get what you pay for. I got two massages there. They both felt pretty good, but they didn't actually seem to relieve any of the tension and stress in my back. I've got some major knots and Massage Envy didn't do much to get them out. It's a nice place, but it definitely feels like a chain from the design to the signs pushing for tips, to the effort and skill of the therapists. I'd recommend finding a local or independent LMT to get the job done better. read more

After searching out the other reviews I have to say I must have been lucky. My massage was with Ty. She was great, made me feel very relaxed. The price was great after getting a Valu Pack first time massage for $49. The beds have warmers and the relaxation waiting area, not a full spa experience, but better than Goulds waiting area. Overall I feel more relaxed and my shoulders are less tense. The price was reasonable. I would go back and I'm considering the 6 month rate. They have deals for couples. DO expect to provide a credit card at the time of your reservation. read more

I've been a member here for a while. And yeah, there are some therapists there that aren't all that great - with those, you definitely do get what you pay for. But there are a couple who do have really good hands. The key to this place is finding someone you like, and just sticking with them. The 20 minute of what should've been a 50 minute massage was great. Overall I'd give it .5 stars. The therapists had some confusion...I ended up placed in a random room and the therapist didn't know who I was. And of course the therapist made it seem like it was only my fault. They couldn't take care of any type of compensation since I only got a 20 minute massage (10 minute complimentary foot and 10 minutes out of my 50 minute Swedish massage). I hope I spelled his name correctly. He was absolutely AMAZING!!! I had a 90 minute deep tissue massage. I woke myself up snoring a couple of times! Then I forgot that it was still daytime outside. Came here for a massage with the BF today, and I just have so many mixed feelings about the place! First off, the staff here are great. The girls at the front were incredibly nice (wish I got their names!), and our masseuses, Marquis and Ebony, were very polite and professional. The massages in itself were good -- 4 star material. When I booked on the phone, I was informed of an add-on service that I would get on my hour-long massage. BF and I both opted for the sugar foot scrub, but only he got that with the hot towels. Unfortunately I didn't know that I missed out on this until we were walking out of the room and BF told me he got it but I didn't. Booking was relatively easy. When I booked on the phone, I told them that I had two gift cards that I wanted to use, and I wanted us both in the same room. When we got there, we were put into separate rooms, but quickly put into the same room once I said something. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that it was a $40 upcharge EACH to be put into this room ($80 extra total??) until after the appointment. I expected it to be a little bit more, but I certainly didn't expect "a little more expensive" to be $80! This was a little bit of insult to injury since I missed out on the sugar scrub. One redeeming factor was that the girls in the front informed me that by getting the 3 month membership, I would essentially be paying todays cost for the both of us, and still get one more massage! They were so pleasant and helpful in explaining the membership to us... Especially since we were a little out of it after the massage! All in all, service was great, massage was good! Only had space for a 1 hour massage but Shenika worked all my tension out equal to my usual 1.5 hour. Have tried ME facilities all over the US. The key is always the individual therapist. I joined Massage Envy for myself and my Mom. I want to say up front that the therapist David (my appointments) at the Mid-Town location is absolutely the BEST! He gives a professional massage that is everything a massage should be. And he doesn't miss appointments. Thank God for David! However, my poor Mom has had no luck yet finding a good fit, after a couple of years worth of visits. Excellent therapists who either quit or were moved to another location or spa (my sincere apologies for misspelled names!): Deshae, Ebony, Marlena, and Shirley. And for tomorrow's appointment, scheduled a month ago, we just learned that her scheduled therapist has had an emergency and her appointment has been cancelled. This has happened, I think, twice before for Mom. No available therapists to pick up the slack when someone calls in or otherwise doesn't come to work that day. Why not hire some "floaters" to be on call for missing therapists, sort of like substitute teachers? That way the client wouldn't be left high and dry once again. I will still come for my appointment (because I have an excellent and dependable therapist), but there is a sour feeling when Mom's appointments get cancelled because her therapist doesn't come in, or when she finally connects with one only to find out the next month that the person no longer works there. So disappointing, and makes it difficult to put trust in being able to enjoy a monthly treat. So I say go on and try it, but be prepared with extreme flexibility regarding your appointment happening or not. read more

When I asked why they said they had a schedule change after I booked my appointment. They had no other openings and told me I could call the chenal location to see if they had something available. I showed up for a massage only to find the door was locked and nobody was there to open the store, even the employees didn't know what was going on as my massage therapist, David (who was great by the way) was standing outside too. I was able to reschedule for later the same day and everything was fine. I was supposedly comped a massage for the inconvenience and the girl at the front (who was doing school work instead of paying attention to working) typed a note on my account and scheduled the next massage for me. My husband had 2 recent scheduling issues as well, so I decided to call before my next scheduled massage to make sure all was ok. The girl who answered the phone was rude and said nothing was listed on my account (even though I was standing there when the girl did it). I decided to just cancel my appointment, take the loss, and never go back there again. Before all of this, I had a membership that we used monthly. Awful experience. They tricked me into the year contract and then wanted more money after 6 months. Was not happy 2 months of masssages, so I tried to cancel. There would not let me. The massages are not 1 hour/60 minutes, like posted. They won't let you use your monthly credits for anything else. If you try to give them to firends, you are charged a transfer fee. Also, anytime, in the begining, when I wanted to go get a massage, they never had anything available. Also, they wanted me to show up early for my appt., but then made me wait and wait. read more

I tried three different therapists and while the price was good, the quality of the massages I received was not. One therapist at least was very nice. The others were grumpy. I had two services, facial and massage. Both were gifts. One was at the Germantown location. The other was at the Collierville location. Both services were relaxing and absolutely wonderful! The scheduling at both locations was a catastrophe! One service involved a transfer from a member. When scheduling, the front desk staff could not locate the transfer in the computer. I alerted the member, who called, and informed me that I "was good to go". After my arrival, the staff could not find the transfer in the computer! While waiting for service and casually conversing with a member, I learned of a different scheduling issue at that location for her, as a member! After receiving a later service at the other location, the front desk staff asked me to pay. After being reminded that I had scheduled with a gift certificate, which I was informed I did not need to present since it was in the computer, the staff did not associate it with my reservation and had difficulty finding it. This incident followed two previous calls to the spa. During both calls, including the call to schedule, the gift certificate number was confirmed as being in the computer! Although the services were "top notch", the stress associated with scheduling and securing services caused stress that the services were designed to alleviate!! read more

I had a great experience when I went to Massage Envy. At the time it was under a promotion they were offering; who could beat a $39 hour long massage! The receptionist was "plastic"... she had an I'm only smiling and being "friendly" because I'm being watched and rent is due next week so I can't afford to be fired type of attitude. However, after I got into the back I forgot all about her "plastic" attitude. The guy who massaged me was very nice as he came to introduce himself and explain a little more about the massage other than what I was informed in the waiting area. The soft music that they play is extremely relaxing and has a calming effect. He was very attentive during the entire massage and occasionally asked if I were okay or needed anything. The best part about him was that he informed me of where he would be massaging next and I genuinely appreciated tha Sometimes it's the "person" that makes the experience a 5 Star experience. The other reviews I read are hilarious lol You don't sprain your ankle or hurt your back and expect a massage parlor to fix it...That's why there's this little place called the doctor's office...they'll politely refer you to a Physical Therapist ;-) read more
