I have been a member of Massage Envy since it opened. I go once a month. If you have a membership the cost is very reasonable. It's one monthly fee and then you tip your therapist at the end according to the service. Every therapist I've had at this location been excellent. The front desk is so nice. I've been seeing Zoltan for years and he is amazing. So are lots of others like George Cortney, Doug and Ramon. And extra kudos to the manager Beth. Joined ME in 2010 In Connecticut, moved to Florida and became a client at this location in 2016. At this time I also signed up my husband as a member. Now this location is charging us for two memberships a month. Let me say this place has been one disappointment after another. Canceled appointments five minutes before session begins. Switching facial to massage at last minute on the spot due to lack of staff. I'm flexible and worked with them. But if I am ready and on time and reliable why can't they be? They repeatedly charged me for missed appointments due to their poor scheduling. This happened multiple times..... Then they started to charge me $5 to transfer each one of my husbands credits to me. I asked them if this was a corporate mandate or a Palm Harbor money grab? There was no response! I checked with corporate and didn't see this $5 transfer fee anywhere?!!!! The last time they charged me for a missed appointment I was out of the country and found out about the charge after the fact. I emailed this location and said if they did not refund the charge I would cancel my membership. Next thing I know all my appointments are cancelled and I was basically fired from the location. No call no email, zip! The owner/manager lack professionalism and common courtesy. Talk about a bad attitude! I do not recommend this location. They also treat their staff like crap. The staff were constantly complaining about how cheap the owner was and how poorly they are treated. read more

I have been to this location multiple times and have had Maryann for every facial service. She does an amazing job at making you feel comfortable and is a great listener. She makes sure to focus on any skin complaints I have and my skin always looks better after each treatment. I'm a massage therapist. So what do I do when I need a rub down and can't do a trade with a friend? I utilize my membership at Massage Envy at the Fountains. In truth, I've been coming here since just before I got my license. They have some damn fine therapists that work there! My favorites are Tony, Karen and Diane. Each of these therapists are going to listen to what you need, do what they know your body needs and leave you feeling rejuvinated. There are some draw backs, though: It's a membership place. Some people don't like that. They up charge $10 for Bio-Freeze (WHY? it's $16 a bottle retail), $10 for Aroma therapy (most oils, even special blended oils don't cost that much) and $16 for a foot scrub... yeah. There are some pluses: They're open from 9 am to 9 pm, they have a lot of locations and a lot of different therapists to suit your needs, weather you like it gentle or are like me and need a little tough love. Either way, I'll be back at least once a month, because I work hard, and I deserve some touch therapy. SO DO YOU! read more

I have been a member here for years and I love having a standing monthly massage. I had a regular therapist that I went to for several yeas but she left so now I am with another great therapist. Not everyone is as good as my two favorites but no one does a bad job. I have never had any problems with the front desk staff either as others have indicated. This business is awesome! I really needed help with my sciatica and boy did these people help! I went for my first ever massage and it was alright. I left sleepy and happy. However, it didn't really help and was more of a rub down for fun. The second time, I called beforehand to ask if there was something someone could do to help with my sciatica. They set me up with a different therapist and she worked my lower back so well that it was no longer numb upon my departure! This was unbelievable to me and I was soooo thrilled and was able to go 2 months before the pain started again. Unfortunately, that wasn't the best idea and I shouldn't have waited that long but I was on vacation our of state. I just finished my third massage with a different therapist who was so so helpful and explained everything. She was definitely more like a doctor type of therapist because she had me lay different ways to align my hips as well as stretch my sciatica. She worked it so hard that I was dizzy when leaving and it was a good kind of dizzy! She told me I will need to ice it and it is sore, but I know it will feel better soon! read more

It was my first time at this location and they didn't offer to let me sit in the "dark/calm waiting room" instead I waited in the main lobby, staff was noisy. DO not every go to this place for a massage. The manager is a complete liar and treats the therapists like garbage. She is never around to help with consumer complaints. Every time you find a therapist that you like, they get rid of them. The turnover is ridiculous. I had several therapists confide in me that they were sexually harassed, and the manager wouldn't do anything about it. They only get paid like $15/hour, so in a way, it's no surprise that they would quit. I tend to come in late, and by the time someone gets to me, they are on their 7th massage. That's ridiculous. Talk about over worked. So I'm not surprised that I can't get a real good deep tissue. They say that they can't get you booked at a certain time, because they are understaffed. But every time I go in there, all I see is a lot of massage therapists just hanging around. read more

Massage Envy is a chain massage center. This means that there are some good things about it and some not so great things about it. The First Impression: The place is very clean, well lit reception area, the people at the front desk are friendly enough and chatty. The rooms are clean. Everyone is in uniforms so it is easy to identify staff from customers. There is literature about their services in the front with a full price list and of course, whatever specials they may be pushing (literally--we'll get to that in a moment) that week. The Annoying: I am not good with commitment. I don't like memberships and I REALLY dislike being pushed about having one, especially when I know my schedule, my life and how often I will or will not use something. I don't want to sit there and discuss the benefits of membership after I have just had my massage quite honestly. I just want to pay and go on my merry way. I understand they have to push these memberships as part of their jobs, but I really just want to get home and unwind after a massage. I should really only have to say "no thank you" once. The weekly emails I continue to get since my one visit there with their friendly reminders to sign up do nothing more than irritate me further. *unsubscribe* The Dollars: They are pricey without the membership. Probably the most expensive massage place I have been to, short of any I have ever gotten at a resort. This DOES make the membership worthwhile, IF you know you are definitely going to use it. For me, it makes no sense. My closest ME studio is simply too far for me to commit to. It is near my bestie's house though, so membership makes great sense for her. The Ambiance: Meh. There's nothing zen about these rooms. They are cold, sterile looking rooms with a doctors office appearance. Sure, there is nice music being pumped in at an adjustable volume, but that's about it. At the place I usually go to, there is soft lighting via (fake flame for safety) candles, nice aromatherapy going on, a well decorated room with drapes hanging and interesting wall hangings. Also, there is a fresh towel to wipe yourself off with (excess oil or sweat, whatever), a can of deodorant, a bottle of body spray to freshen up with, make up remover pads (should you have smeared your make up), tissues (some people get weepy during massages), a fresh comb to fix your hair and your own bottle of water. Just little touches like that make the experience much nicer, but again..."chain" massage center. Get them in, get them sold, get them out. LOL My Tech: I wish I could remember his name. He was a nice enough kid and his massage skills weren't bad, per se. But, we got off to a not so great start. I am HIGHLY allergic to tree nuts including almonds. Often, massage creams and oils contain almond extract. As he grabbed the bottle of lotion I said, "are you SURE there is no almond in that liquid?" He had NO clue what I was talking about despite the fact that I filled out a very detailed form out front and must have underlined about 3 times how DEATHLY allergic I am to Almonds. "Why do you ask," he said. I nearly hurled my naked, fat ass off the table. Seriously, dude? I explained about how imperative it was that he not use almond oil on me or I'd kind of, you know, DIE? He said, I'm pretty sure it's fine...but I'll go check again. Well, great. Thanks. If I wasn't tense before the massage, I sure as hell was now! [Sidenote: No almonds in the oils] I have to admit, I wasn't comfortable with the fact that I felt he didn't read my intake form. The Massage: The massage was just fine. He gave a good deep tissue massage, kept me appropriately covered at all times and was very professional. Took my cue of silence and was respectful of it. Told me where on my body he was moving to next before moving to it. All the right practices. The next day, I felt a little beat up...the sign of a good deep tissue massage. No complaints here. Overall experience: I'm giving them 3 stars for A-OK. 1.5 was removed for the almond incident (because, you know...DEATH?) and half a star removed because of the blandness of the facility and the 10 minute post massage membership discussion. However, this WAS a lovely treat from my best friend and if she wants to go back there again, I will happily join her, on me this time. SHE had a very good experience with her therapist and it's closer to her home so membership for her makes sense. I may take her up on the occasional "guest pass" reduced rate if she joins. Hello, I've been a member for the past 14 years and I find that this locations is very helpful and care about their clients. I have been to a few other salons and wasn't taken care of as much as I get at the Palm Harbor Fl. location. My favorite's are Doug ( whom I call Dave-Doug ) and Kim M. As for my membership love, love, love it. There has been times I don't get to go every month so they allow their clients to bank the free month we get when we are on auto pay membership. I have a bank of free massages waiting for me because with working 3 jobs it's hard to go in for a massage. As long as I live in the area I'll be going back to this location... A therapist at Massage Envy Palm Harbor LITERALLY saved my husband's life. He has a thick neck, but the therapist was doing her job well and noted a 'lump'. She could have been thinking about her weekend plans and ignored it....she could have been thinking "I'm tired and want to get out of here" and not said anything. But she asked about it...we immediately saw the doc....it was cancer. A 12 hour surgery and 7 weeks of radiation later, (and over a year to heal) he is alive and well. Obviously, I love this place and particularly this therapist. Overall, I think they do a great job. It's fairly easy to get an appointment at the last minute which is very nice. Every therapist I've had has done a good job. The place is clean. I think the fee is very reasonable....an hour of a professional's time? That's not cheap if they're good and these folks are. I am a member and glad that I am. I don't take enough time for myself anyway and the reminders are fine with me....makes me do what I need to do! The chain part I think is actually good as there is a lot of commitment to quality across the board....I never have to guess, 'will this be good?'. But my first paragraph trumps it all. My husband might have died had this therapist not been doing her job....the tumor was massive but hard to find as it was largely hidden under bone. When professionals practice as they SHOULD in any area, they save lives in many ways. My husband's alive because of Massage Envy. I thank God for them every day! read more

Wishing I could give this Massage Envy NO stars because my plans for Valentines Day weekend were ruined, but I couldn't submit a review without giving it a star.. Ugh. I purposely booked this massage appointment the day after Valentine's Day to avoid the craziness of the holiday itself. My appointment was at 1:00pm and upon arrival I was notified that my couples massage was cancelled because the massage therapist had called out "about an hour ago" according to the receptionist. Soooo... If the massage therapist had called out "about an hour ago," why was I not notified immediately after he/she calling out? Why was this establishment understaffed on a weekend, especially the weekend of Valentine's Day? Unacceptable. I will not be returning to this location nor will I refer anyone here. read more

I was gifted two hours at Message Envy for my birthday. I made the 1st hour appointment a few days in advance and was running late on my way from Tampa. Without mentioning anything up front, I got a 30 minute message instead of an hour with no option to reschedule or heads up that it would be cut short. I made the second appointment only a few hours in advance and got there early. The message was terrible. The messuse was a young girl who was probably new. I asked for deep tissue around my neck beacause I have a lot of knots and tension there and instead she applied pressure in random spots and barly got any knots. I am on vacation and fly back home tomorrow. I thought getting a massage at the end of the week would make my vacation complete. I have been to massage envy before but never one like the one on us 19 in palm harbor. They told me I CAN NOT make an appointment on Fridays this month because its member appreciation month. What about potential members or just people who can't afford it every month so they go when they can? I feel discriminated against.
