I really like my masseuse at this location, this is not a complaint about her. My complaint is that my massage was cancelled and I did not receive a call about this, so I drove the 1-hr round trip to find out in person. I have chronic pain and longer car rides hurt my back, so I was very much looking for the relief of the massage after the drive. I do wish there was an offer to comp part of the next massage, but all I received was an apology and an offer to reschedule. Look out for your clients, Massage Envy! read more

Monthly massage - works for me. What better way to shake off stress and get a little relaxation, even if only for a short while. Desk staff is friendly and outgoing. The biggest problem is high turnover of massage therapists. I've been fortunate. After finding one I meshed with, I make sure I book her regularly. Totally hooked on their mind monthly membership to get one massage a month for such a steal! Not only that, they offer military discount so I'm sooooo happy! I should've done this long time ago! The staff is always courteous and friendly. The spa is filled with fragrant oils and cozy. The therapists have always been very attentive to my specific need which I really appreciate. You can add on an aromatherapy for only $10 and you get to take home your extra scented lotion. I think that's also a steal. I am so so disappointed in Massage Envy as a customer for over 10 years): When I joined over ten years ago they placed my daughter and myself on the same account. Believe me, Massage Envy made much more than two memberships off of us as we sometimes came in 4-5 times per month due to back injuries from a car accident not to mention the many people I have referred to them over the years. Out of the blue, the Rio Rancho location decided (rudely I might add) to renig on our contract. I have canceled my membership as a result which is a loss of revenue to them and shows no loyalty to a long time customer and referral source. Honestly, I am not surprised, I have had several friends cancel with frustration. It's all for the best, because now I am supporting a local massage therapist and not a corporation who cares nothing for their customers. Not a fan. read more

The worst massage I've ever had and I've been to many places. The reception area is fine. The massage room was cold for my preference. The bed was lightly heated. You are covered with a sheet but its cold when they are massaging. The massage therapist was a mouth breather and had a cold and was constantly sniffing. This was a first time for me to have a massage therapist sit in a chair for the massage. It is hard to apply pressure sitting. I feel the massage therapist did not know where she was supposed to be rubbing. It was as if she found a bone and pushed on it and avoided any large muscle areas. I absolutely love my massage therapist Jessica. She was previously at the Massage Envy in Rio Rancho and I signed up after my first massage with her. She moved to Riverside and I moved my membership! If you are in the market for a deep tissue massage or even just a relaxing massage after some holiday shopping, call and schedule with Jessica. The front desk staff is just okay. They are friendly but nothing to write home about. They ask how your massage was and I was never pressured into additional services or memberships. There is usually a manager on staff (I think) but they're always in the office with the door shut. A few are young so I give them a little slack in their comments and that's why I gave 4 stars and not 5. If I was rating Jessica.... it would be a 5. I've never had a massage with anyone else at riverside, so I cannot attest to any of the other styles available. This was a pleasant experience. My husband and I were gifted a massage from a member who has a monthly membership, and I was gifted a massage from same member last year so this was my second visit to this location. My first visit started off well enough, the lobby is nice, but has a bit of a sterile corporate feeling. The massage itself was subpar, I tried to communicate with my therapist to use more pressure several times but ultimately it never delivered. After the massage, I was met with high pressure sales in trying to interest me in a massage membership. My most recent visit in February was better. The staff was friendly, and it was easy enough to schedule the appointments. The quality of the massage was much better this time around, the therapist was knowledgable and responsive to my communication, and she offered some suggestions following the massage which I appreciated. There were no high pressure sales after the massage, and the overall experience had definitely improved. read more

The front desk had told me the massage therapist was a light or medium pressure when I made the appointment but after talking to the manager, she was actually only a light touch. I moved to ABQ a few months ago. I had regular appointments with a private massage therapist until the move and needed a deep massage. Massage Envy was nearby so I wanted to give them a try. While the reception area is welcoming, the receptionists were not. Their "professional" approach was to not smile and to give directions. In my pre-massage "paperwork", I selected "medium" level of massage since I couldn't select "deep"- that was not an option. After my massage therapist brought me back, I explained the areas that needed attention, in particular the hamstrings, neck and shoulders. Long story short, this was not a massage. I got a back rub and she rubbed my calves. Hamstrings and shoulders were never touched. I'm still looking for a massage therapist. read more

We have been going to massage Envy/Riverside for about a year now. The staff is always professional, friendly, and the location is clean & inviting. There are many great therapists there, sorry, not gonna tell you who my fave is or I'll never get back in to them! Was having extreme back pain so I decided to check them out. Toby my massage therapist was wonderful. He listened to all my requests and was able to massage my tension, stress, and aches away. I paid extra for aromatherapy, to be honest, that wasn't worth it. My foot scrub was okay; I was expecting a little bit more massage for it. I got the introductory price but I didn't want to sign a contract. The girl working the desk seemed annoyed I didn't want to jump at the opportunity to sign up for a membership and kept reiterated how much more I was going to pay next time. I haven't made up my mind if I will come back. I'll try a couple more places before I commit to one place to help me de-stress. Hopefully not one where I have to sign a contract. read more

Management is sub par to say the least. The goal of this branch is to take as much of your money as they can, and ignore your requests to be removed from their membership program. I actually physically went in to cancel my membership last year (because they were trying to charge my dues to a strangers account) and the staff magically "lost" the paperwork. Now, the manager refuses to cancel the membership unless I go in and sign off on another set of cancellation paperwork. Plus, I now have a total of 14 unwanted monthly charges on my credit card. Sounds great, especially since there's a global pandemic ravaging the world right now, right? My advice, spend your time and money elsewhere, and avoid the incompetence and lack of professionalism that plagues this business. read more

Idk why all the bad reviews of this place. I've been here a few times and they have some amazing massage therapists here! Actually I think they have the best masseuses at this location but im on the east side so I usually go to the other locations. I've had the best massage of my life here actually. They have good cust service and their prices are pretty decent if u have membership. The front desk has always been nice and worked with me (especially when I was out of the country and had to put my membership on hold for 5 months). I've never gotten a bad massage here. At Wyoming location I have but the manager refunded me so no biggy :). I signed up for the 1 massage/month deal because...well..I've been telling myself I would since I got out of college (8 years ago) and it was just..time. Time to start taking care of myself. They have people that specialize in different kind of massages including deep tissue and hot stone. One sixty minute massage will run you about $60/month (less than average for this town) with your first massage only being $40. You sign a contact, of course..for a year..but you can freeze it for up to 6 months if you need to (I think). read more

I am a member as well as my husband. I have been coming to this location for a few yrs now and we really enjoy the massage therapists here. We have been to other locations and find that this one has the friendliest front desk staff. this location for us has been great, and the staff has been very accommodating with our accounts when I was out of a job. I would recommend Megan, Rosalie, Lyle, and Karen, although they are all great I recommend them because they work the evenings and perform firm pressure. read more
