Anytime I visit Remedy, I always feel genuinely welcomed by staff and well taken care of and that's why it's become my go to spot for relaxation and self care. The most recent visit was for a facial with Emily, who's an absolute expert in her craft. Shoutout Capricorns! During your session they assess your skin and let you know what they are doing and using. It's so calming that I often find myself falling asleep by the end of it. They have private tubs you can reserve for an hour if that's more the vibe you are feeling, but you can also use the hot tub before or after your appointment to soak which is so relaxing. I do appreciate the touches of tea kettles and tea in the lounge area that are complimentary. They also have snacks and other things if you are there longer. Remedy is such a sweet serene spot right in the university area that you'd kinda forget where you are because it's so peaceful while experiencing it, and that's why I can't recommend Emily and Remedy enough. read more

I received a $30 gift card for my birthday and before that I hadn't heated of Remedy Day Spa before. It's in Nob Hill which is my favorite part of ABQ. I loved the space inside, it's very relaxing, clean and comfortable. I booked a private one hour soak for my wife and our friend. The tube was hot, clean. The tube doesn't have jets but was nice. I've been here two times for a massage and had great experiences both times. Both times I had specific problem areas that were addressed fully- they will spend more time massaging areas if you point them out (e.g. shoulders, a specific tight spot on your back). In the middle of crying and packing to move, my best friend calls me up and says "meet me at Remedy in three hours" (not the ideal time) but self care is important when stressed. ;) Oh boy , did I love this and may be hooked. They said I had to go in person to cancel. When I went in person and asked to cancel the monthly fee, they said I had to meet with the manager. I went in person several times to meet with the manager, but they said the manager was not in to cancel my monthly fee. They took more than $700 from me without services. Very bad experience. Receptionist was THE SWEETEST, funniest, most helpful woman- hooked us right up, friendly greeting, rearranged the soak time because we arrived late- no Ubers. WONDERFUL private soak and cold pool. Chris, another attendant, brought us the food, offered us drinks, checked on us throughout our stay matching the SWEETEST woman from the beginning. This place has a ton of reviews, so I'll make it short and sweet. Beautiful facility, with a lovely and relaxing atmosphere that I could enjoy all day. They're attuned to clients' needs and, had they been more generous with towels (they provide only one, and it gets soaked after the first shower or dip!), provide almost everything you could want for the day... except maybe a snack menu (but they do have trail mix and dried fruit at the tea table!). Staff are very pleasant, serene, and inviting (including the kitty-cat), with calming and helpful vibes. Services had some higher prices than I tend to go for, and I was a little disappointed by the lack of oomph with the massage and the facial that consisted of not much more than a massage and moisturizing treatment. I booked a private tub a an infrared sauna for a Mother's Day gift and I unfortunately received neither. When we arrived they said the tub was "no good" so we were forced to soak in the communal tub (which was murky, had algae growing, and full of dead leaves). We also booked 30 minutes in the infrared sauna and when we went to get in the sauna at our appointment time they said it wasn't hot enough yet so we'd have to wait another 30 minutes. We didn't, we left and safe to say the Mother's Day gift was a fail. They comped the visit, as there's no way I would've paid the $100 that would've been charged. If you're looking for a relaxing spa experience try Betty's Day Spa, or some up north like Ten Thousand Waves or Ojo Caliente, I've had much better experiences there. read more

This is my second time visiting the Remedy and it truly is a hidden gem! It is totally worth discovering! My wife and I had a couples massage here and both massage therapists were amazing. My wife was pregnant at the time, so she got a much needed prenatal massage. She felt so much better afterwards which made me happy. My massage was also fantastic. The Remedy's ambiance is truly spa inspired. You would have no idea you are next to the university or close to Route 66. When you walk in the doors there is a very relaxing vibe. It is quiet, dark and warm. Not to mention the fabulous patio! Yes, they have a patio with a hot tub, sauna and some areas to lunge outside and enjoy the sun. In many ways it is all about the experience. Hubs and I make a habit of going to spas while traveling. We were able to snag a couple of last minute appointments. As we entered the facility, the area is welcoming, environment sets a serene tone, the smells are delicious, and the staff is very friendly. Go to the locker room area, and I am unable to locate a robe as there was not one in my locker. Part of the experience is putting on a spa robe and waiting on your service. When I went to the front, I asked about a robe. They said it should be in my locker - I said unfortunately it was not - they told me they are probably in the dryer as they had a wedding party earlier in the day. ... understandable ... however my experience is saying "Note wedding party more important than non-wedding party" - Hubs did not have one either. Massages, for both is us, were fantastic! He added hot stones and I added a mint scalp massage. It was a wonderful experience. Mine was done before his so I waited in their quiet area. Experience wants a quiet room, with comfy chairs, and water and/or tea. The area is right in the middle of spa traffic... constant flow of people walking up and down the wood floor and the entrance to their laundry is right there too. It's fine; the experience you might want would be a quiet meditation area. They have private hot tubs in the back so we booked a private soak. Tubs were perfect temp and the little alcoves are great. Experience... someone placed their used gum on the deck next to the water... so staff needs to check area. There is a large cool water tub if you want to jump in; however it hasn't been vacuumed in awhile as there was quite a bit of dirt at the bottom. Will we go back when in the area again.... maybe as the massages were outstanding however first choice would be to try another spa in the area. For the first time my girlfriend and I visited Remedy Day Spa on the referral of a trusted friend. The staff was very helpful and kind in confirming our reservation and showing us into the space, a good start. We were told someone might reserve the adjacent area private tub and would therefore walk through our reserved space to get to it. We thanked the woman for the heads up and began our soak. Ten minutes in I was ready for the sauna, Shawna followed a minute later. Just then we heard some very loud "dude/bro" talk coming through the door. They did not just walk through and they weren't accompanied. They explored the entire area, mostly the space we had reserved. They were NOT WEARING MASKS. Shawna notified them that we had this space until 6, one dude in disbelief said "she said 530, I'll go check." They then came back, picked up their things and went to the private tub where they continued to loudly laugh and exclaim. We decided to try to ignore the volume and enjoy ourselves nonetheless. At no time did any employee come by to attend to the fact that there was obviously some reservation confusion, which the bros had masklessly brought to their attention. We were using the clock above the tub to gauge our time. We had just ten minutes left and wanted to soak it up. Then a third bro enters the scene. NO MASK. Shawna says to him. I'm sorry we have this space till 6, he glances his phone to say it is 6, the clock is slow and he'll only be using the sauna, drops his things and pops right in. Still no staff has come this way to clean, sanitize or oversee any new patrons entering the areas. We're starting to feel unsafe in addition to the bit of rage. Just then the third bro pops out of the uncleaned sauna... "Ethan is that you?!" "Dude!" "BRO!" "This is my spot man." And just like that all three of them were in the sauna in the area we had paid to reserve while we were still trying to gather our things and get the hell out of the space. We showered because it was the cleanest and safest thing to do, and then went to check out and tell of our experience. I told them the customer service earlier and our arrival were handled very well. We went on to explain and ask about the loudness/respect amongst patrons, the rented space in question, and showing people in. The manager was immediately defensive in favor of the BROS, as they are regulars and should know the process, don't need to be walked in, were supposed to wait in the locker room until their reservation time and lastly do not need to wear masks outdoors, even if they are walking through an area that someone else has paid $50 to privately be in. She also mentioned how busy they've been all day. This now makes us feel that they haven't been properly sanitizing all day, not just this instance, not just for their bros. She told us the 6pm dude was supposed to wait until 615 to come out so they'd have time to clean, however we had showered and changed and it was well after 615 at this point and neither staff on site had seemed to head in that direction. Mostly the manager assured us that these frat boys were regulars, they normally rent the patio in its entirety (so likely we were impeding them???), that trusting them to know was enough for her, and that she wouldn't go out of her way to ensure anyone else's comfort or safety. She also pointed out that she wouldn't require patrons to wear masks if they were outside even if passing thru another groups reserved space. As a restaurant and bar manager that has been running patio service for a pandemic year I can't tell you how infuriating that is. As a Spa manager during a pandemic, you might be more receptive to the feedback about a patron feeling that safety precautions aren't being upheld, uncleaned/non sanitized areas being used at user discretion, and the unsupervised transfer of space amongst strangers in a common environment. We did not pay for these services, as I think it would've been absurd to ask us to after all that, however I had to be the one to suggest it. Instead of providing any solution or "remedy" to our concerns, she found something to point back at us and shamed us for not saying anything sooner. That was nice. Though our cleanliness complaints came from the conclusion of our experience and scared us retrospectively. She also made it abundantly clear that as new patrons our concerns and complaints didn't hold a candle to the comfort of these well seasoned Princes. The remedy has a lovely list of covid safety protocols listed on their website and I can unfortunately say we watched many of them crumble in real life service. This place may be widely visited, but it's choosing to be busier at the price of cleanliness, safety and apparently customer service. Or at least for certain patrons. As someone who manages for a local company, widely supports local companies and greatly supports paying to sit in hot water, it's a real shame this is how this all turned out. read more

This was mine and my wife's first time here. We are frequent visitors of spas around Albuquerque as well as New Mexico. We were thoroughly impressed. The hot tubs are awesome and made out of wood which is something we have never seen before. The water temperature was perfect as well. My wife had her massage from Alexis. She said her massage was very relaxing from the atmosphere to the actual massage itself. She will be returning to see Alexis. For my massage, Sara was amazing. I told her where I was having aches and tension and she really concentrated on those areas. I prefer firm pressure and that is exactly what I got from start to finish. First off I lways rate money spent with a massage therapist as "Five Stars," the best money invested in my personal health and well-being. Massage Therapy is preventative, palliative and beneficial to my well-being in so many ways. So I was really pleased to be able to book an appointment at The Remedy Day Spa, my first therapeutic massage since the arrival to New Mexico of Covid-19 . Let me get the protocols out of the way immediately; they are excellent. I answered some questions about my health and exposure ("have you been in contact with anyone confirmed to have Covid-19") when I booked my appointment and answered the same questions again when I arrived. Masks are required, hand sanitizer and hand washing is encouraged and there's very minimal contact with anyone other than your therapist - who has theirn temperature taken regularly. Although I wasn't asked I would be perfectly willing to have my temperature checked coming in, too. It's terrific that the therapists are protecting us and we also ought to have enough respect for the therapists to protect them. My massage was on a Sunday morning, so I told my therapist, Sarah, that she was The High Priestess of the morning's spiritual healing experience. I told her that at about the halfway point through the massage because it was truly a beautiful experience. Before Sarah started she asked me what I needed and I told her about particular pain points and concerns resulting from my work ergonomics, past injuries and all the things that tighten me up - and I asked her to "wring out my internal organs" - which she was able to help with) and that I trusted her to find everything else. And she did. Also, shout out to New Mexico School of Natural Therapeutics: I asked Sarah where she learned massage and told her I could almost anticipate the answer because the excellent techniques used by NMSNT students is unique - and truly awesome! While I did pay more for the up-sale, it didn't increase the time of my overall session at all. I paid an extra $20 for a neck massage to add to my service while not getting the full hour for the service for which I paid. They also up-sale products upon checking out. Loved this spa not only was it quaint they also offered yoga glasses with the most amazing people. Enjoyed the rustic surrounding and the adorable outdoor area which is where the outdoor jacuzzi and sauna was with great comfortable lounge chairs. Have been there three times on this trip along. Got a great massage and attended a Vin yoga class on Tuesday which was great for stretching my body and I went to a fun acroyoga class with the mot amazing people that totally welcomed me into their circle.
