Leaving a review because Betty's truly my favorite spa in the WORLD / happy place/ special treat when I go home and I am shocked by some of the recent negative reviews.... I've been to many spas in NYC, LA, Boston, etc. For me personally, nothing compares to Betty's! The ambiance is welcoming and calming, the prices are reasonable and the team is experienced. I typically get facials and ALWAYS leave feeling over the moon, relaxed and happy. The massage/facial beds are heated and all of products are organic and smell AMAZING so it's kind of like 2 in 1 aromatherapy as you're getting your facial :) They clearly state that the sauna/hot tub is additional on their website, so for the folks griping about that, it's probably best to simply read the info while booking rather than rip them for something that is stated upfront! I never expect to sauna or steam going into a facial service anyways, that just seems like an added perk/not to be expected. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE They no longer offer the ability to soak as a part of your normal services, which is not advertised anywhere on their website. This is standard practice at any SPA, no matter what part of the world you are in. Doesn't matter if you are at the Ritz, Woldorf Astoria, Four Seasons, or a resort in Europe, Asia, or South America. When you go to a spa, you automatically have access to all the spa's amenities. This includes tubs and saunas. There are no spa amenities here. If you are paying premium prices, you would expect a premium experience. Keep looking because you are not going to get that at Betty's Day Spa. To make matters worse, their customer service is horrendous! One would think that, if there is a medical emergency, they would allow you to at the very least reschedule your services. They do not. Thank goodness I do not live here and can go back to my normal masseuse next week. read more

I came here after hearing so much positive about Betty's. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, aside from a nice, relaxing space. When entering, I liked checking in and getting a robe, slippers, and guidance to the locker room. It was a nice space where quiet ambiance was maintained. I waited in the designated area and was greeted by my therapist. I appreciated the assistance on and off the table as a 8.5 month pregnant lady with adjustable tables. The massage was fantastic and I especially enjoyed the time after the massage where they allow you to just rest and relax for a few moments before you get dressed. I was very disappointed with my experience at this business. The first issue is that there is no way to speak with anyone directly. All communication is handled through text messages, and responses often take days. In my experience, they also send important messages over the weekend, when many businesses are closed and people may not be monitoring work-related communications. I had scheduled a spa day for five of my employees. The week before our appointment, we confirmed the reservation with a representative at this location and provided the names of everyone attending. In addition, we provided our credit card information to hold the reservation. At that point, I believed everything was confirmed and ready for our Monday afternoon appointment. However, on Sunday (when the office is close and they are texting an office cell phone) they sent another text asking us to confirm the reservation again and stated that if we did not respond, our appointments would be canceled. Since the reservation had already been confirmed the previous week, and they had our business credit card for any cancellations, I did not expect that another confirmation was required. When Monday arrived, I learned that all five of our appointments had been canceled. I contacted the manager hoping the situation could be resolved. Unfortunately, there was no apology and no effort to accommodate our group at the original appointment time. Instead, I was told the only option was to schedule each of the five appointments at different times, which completely defeated the purpose of planning a spa day together for my employees. As a result, I took my business elsewhere. I would not recommend booking with this business. If a reservation has already been confirmed and a credit card is on file, customers should not have to reconfirm it again the day before--especially on a Sunday for a Monday appointment. Clear communication and better customer service would have avoided this entire situation. read more

Overall, not worth the $200+ (with tip) for a 75 prenatal massage. The place is cute for sure. Lots of lotiony stuff and jewelry in the front area. Check in was easy and painless as was booking online. They give you sandals and a robe, you go to a locker room to change before meeting your masseuse. Felt like overkill, I just wore a robe to walk down a hall. The room was fine, I could hear the front area chatter for most of my massage. Since it was a prenatal massage they had a table with a belly cut out so you can lay on your stomach. While it was nice to have that accomodation, there weren't any indents for my boobs, which started to burn about 15 mins into the massage from smooshing them onto the table. The blankets they use are also super heavy. So when I was on my back my feet were forced to splay quite wide. The massage was just okay. I asked for more pressure, was told it would be increased, but it wasn't. And she never checked in to see if it was improved. Honestly that's mostly why I stick with a massage place and I have such a hard time speaking up so the fact that I asked and nothing changed was a huge turn off for me. I also asked for a big focus on my legs and hips. Felt like they were 10 mins of the total 75, also a huge bummer. I won't be back.. still in search of a great prenatal massage. read more

I wanted to leave a review for anyone considering this spa. I do want to start by saying the woman who did my massage was very kind, and I don't want this to reflect negatively on her personally. However, I've been getting massages since I was 17 years old, and this experience was extremely disappointing especially for the price. I planned a birthday spa day for my daughter since we're both athletes dealing with a lot of muscle tension. After looking around Albuquerque, I chose this spa expecting a higher-end, therapeutic experience. We each booked a 75-minute massage, and I added a 15-minute scalp and foot treatment for my daughter. I've been to many spas over the years, including in Manhattan, and have never paid anywhere near this much for what we received. I was willing to splurge, expecting the service and amenities to match the cost. Unfortunately, the massage itself was not therapeutic at all. There was very little pressure mostly just oil being applied without any real muscle work. While it was somewhat relaxing, it did nothing to address tension or soreness. On top of that, the session did not feel like a full 75 minutes. Between getting settled, repositioning, and transitions, it felt like we lost about 20 minutes of actual massage time. Afterward, I assumed we'd be able to enjoy the spa amenities, like the bathhouse, to make the experience feel more worthwhile. But those are all separate add-ons, which was surprising given the already high price point. Spending close to $500 for a spa day should absolutely include access to basic amenities. I've been to nicer spas, paid less, and had far better experiences including full access to relaxation areas. That's what makes this especially frustrating. If the amenities had been included and we had time to truly relax and enjoy the space, I might not feel as strongly about the cost. But for anyone looking for an actual therapeutic massage, I would not recommend this spa. I came with a friend for her birthday celebration, where we rented out one of the private tub areas. It was such a fun little treat and definitely something I would do again. Betty's is really cool from the start. You walk in and they have somewhat of a gift shop area with a variety of beauty products and fun little trinkets. They give you robes and some slippers and you can change in a group area. Changing rooms are gendered and pretty open. We then were taken back to one of the tub areas where we had access to a hot tub and a sauna for I believe a 90 minute period. You're allowed to bring in your own food and drink, which is awesome. I believe the only rule is no glass and no alcohol. Overall, it was really fun experience and I would totally be interested in checking out some of their other services. My massage therapist was Katherine, and she was amazing. I had a package with an hour massage, a 15-minute hot oil scalp massage, and a 15-minute foot massage. From the moment she brought me to my room, she was professional, and the room was inviting. The bed was heated, and she assisted with me getting onto the bed and ready for my treatment. My massage treatment was perfect. She listened to my trouble areas and paid attention to those areas. Everyone was so nice and our experience was better than we expected. The locker rooms were a tad old but clean. You can tell they take care of keeping the spa clean. read more

I wanted to share my experience because I think it's important for others to know what to expect. I received a notification advising me to arrive at least 15 minutes early to complete paperwork, so I came even earlier to ensure I had plenty of time. However, when I arrived, there was no paperwork to fill out. Since I was early, I asked if I could use the sauna before my 2:00 pm appointment. I was told that everything was fully booked and that access is included within specific timed packages only. That was disappointing. When I think of a "day spa," I expect more of an experience -- a place to unwind before and after services. Many spas offer seating areas, quiet relaxation rooms, tea, light snacks, or open sauna access before your appointment begins. Unfortunately, there was no designated relaxation space, very limited seating, and it felt quite crowded. It felt more like arriving for a single service and leaving immediately afterward, rather than a full spa experience. Additionally, if you purchase a tub package, your allotted time includes sauna access, rather than offering flexible pre-appointment access. That structure makes the experience feel very transactional. In comparison, spas like Ojo, Hotel Chaco, and others in the area provide a more immersive, relaxing environment where you can truly enjoy the space before your treatment begins. If you're looking strictly for individual services, this may work well for you. But if you're expecting a full "day spa" experience with amenities and relaxation time, you may want to clarify what's included ahead of time. read more

Bad business policies. I booked an appointment online on accident for the following day. I selected a weekend which was a few days out on their site but was still left on the next day. I selected the time slot that worked thinking I had the right day. Went through everything and booked it. I made a mistake due to their website and tried to rebook but their policy states you cannot rebook if the appointment is within 24 hours. With that they said I have to pay them in full and am still being charged for a service I never got. When I spoke to them they told me sorry it's your fault but I can book a new appointment for you. So not only are we going to take your money but would you like to book with us again? No I would not and no I do not recommend them to anyone nor will me or my wife be returning. If you go there I'd recommend finding a better business to give your money to rather than this place. No good. Response to Mgr: I did not want to cancel, I asked to reschedule it because I found out it was not scheduled when I thought it was. Only to finally get a call back that they cancelled my appointment even though I spoke to the front desk and was assured all was fine. I really needed and was looking forward to the appt. But obviously day of couldn't book anything. Not only was the appt cancelled the process of trying to book and talk to a human was incredibly stressful and annoying. I booked a facial online and requested Casey as the aesthetician. Parking is easy, right behind the spa. The entrance to the spa easy to find and the lobby is tranquil, well organized with welcoming staff. A staff member provided the plush robe and slippers, led me to the changing room/locker room, an airy, comfortable place. I met Casey once I had locked up my things. She was terrific! She began with questions about what I wanted, my history regarding skin care, health issues etc and moved quickly to the facial itself. I've had many in my life and this was the best ever-my skin felt soft, plump and looked cleaned up, glowing, more even. There were no scraped or raw areas, no feeling of being scoured yet the effect was that my skin looked refreshed, smoother. Casey is knowledgeable about skin routines and procedures that make a positive difference and spoke from her own experience and from observations of other women's skin after they had undergone treatments. She never tried to upsell me; she did provide plenty of facts so that I can make informed choices about other options in addition to facials. Will I return to Betty's? Absolutely. Will I request Casey? Absolutely. Betty's has lots to offer and everyone seemed pleased to be there, clients as well as staff. I would love to stay longer next time, get a massage, enjoy the pool, hang out with a friend. Can't wait! read more

After going to a few different spas around the state lately, I felt like I needed to give Betty's a shout out. While I wish there was more lounge space and a communal tub like Sandia Casino has, Betty's is the best for so many reasons. I've never had a bad service, and I appreciate the spaciousness of the locker room and shower spaces. I recently went to a few places that charged $5-20 for a rented robe, but Betty's gives you a complimentary, thick, luxurious robe and sandals as part of your appointment, in addition to water and tea throughout. This is the most welcoming, most relaxing, most clearly guided spa experience in New Mexico I have come across so far, and I'll keep coming back! They also have the best gift shop. read more

One of the best facials I've had! I chose the Custom CBD 60 min because I didn't want to chose between skin concerns and added a 15 min scalp massage. I was taken right back to a changing area, it was not private but there were two restroom stalls for more privacy. The robe was plush and warm, and Esmeralda greeted me and took me right back to the treatment room. Very comfortable treatment table, all of the products smelled amazing and Esmeralda built the best facial for my confused skin. She told me everything she was doing, and gave very clear instructions for aftercare. She did not try to sell me on their products, just advised how they could help my skin, and I liked that. She was very calming, and the entire thing was extremely relaxing. The staff at the desk were great as well. Prices were as expected for the service; good spa services should not be super cheap. We had an amazing experience at Betty's - I am so glad we decided to take some time for R&R during our vacation in ABQ. Going during COVID is certainly different as there's no real open public bath area anymore, which frankly was fine by me. My fiancee and I reserved a private soak tub for 45 minutes and enjoyed a 30 minutes couples massage. We left feeling SO relaxed and were able to fully take advantage of the sauna, dressing room, sanctuary area, and of course the outdoor (now private) hot tub. If you're in ABQ and looking for a spa experience, I don't think you'll do better price-wise and experience-wise than Betty's. The staff here is so attentive and it was the best massage I've ever had, even though the briefest at 30 minutes. We paid ~$150 with tip for the whole experience, which felt super reasonable for a full afternoon of relaxation. Make it part of your trip! read more

Staff noted that the gift was coded as a "walk in" and subsequently a name was not attached to the gift card. When I purchased the gift card, I was told that the card would be attached to a name. I am glad I was able to find the card or else I would have been out a significant amount of money due to staff losing gift certificate. When my friend checked in for their massage, the front desk staff couldn't find the appointment tent and it took them ten minutes to find the appointment. The ten minutes were docked from my friend's massage. Clean facility. Great massage. I felt that the front desk staff seemed kind of disorganized in that they were unable to find scheduled appointment and/or gift cards on file. If you purchase a gift card here, make sure to not lose the physical card (despite the front desk saying that the physical card will be tied to your name). read more

Thoroughly enjoyed a lunch time massage at Betty's. I was gifted a 60 min blissful massage and was able to book an appointment for the very next day. Wow, ok maybe lunch time is the best time! I've been here before and the spa is pretty much set up the same however, no communal hot tub to bliss out in before or after your massage. I was told over the phone that you can reserve a private tub in advance though. I checked in and received the robe and sandals. Looks like they got new sandals and they are more comfy. The locker room was empty when I arrived and that was kind of amazing. My massage therapist found me in the waiting area right on time, her name was Jackie and she was sweet and the massage was really wonderful. I would definitely recommend her and request her next time! The shower area is clean and roomy, there are several showers with soaps and shampoo/conditioner available. It's nice to be able to rinse the massage oils off a bit and tame the massage hair. One thing I would change would be the robes. I think it's time for new robes. read more

Such a relaxing way to end our visit to Albuquerque! My husband booked us some facials for my bday and after a long day in the sun and riding bikes a facial was just what I needed. The person doing mine was very knowledgeable and provided me with info on how to treat my skin based on my needs. Loved that the beds were heated it made me feel like I was wrapped in a cocoon and had to fight sleep. Definitely worth a visit. It's a little hard to spot as it felt almost tucked away and lost alongside the other buildings but just look for the sign and you should be fine! read more

My girlfriend and I had been talking about our plans to go to Betty's for some time.... we could not wait for December to finally get here. A half day off of work and the day began. A nice lunch and we were on our way! We arrived early to soak first. They checked us in and immediately there was this warm feeling from the attendants. It's like they had known us forever. We went into the women's tub and just soaked for about fifteen minutes which was plenty of time to loosen up before our treatments. We sat in the waiting area and each of us were greeted by our esthetician. Esmeralda did my facial. She went over what she was doing and offered an assessment of my skin along with some recommendations. I was so relaxed and my favorite was the rose mist which felt cool and smelled wonderful. It was time for the next treatment. My massage was amazing. The masseuse asked what kind of pressure and that was all I had to say. No conversations just pure relaxation. 60 minutes later I felt like I had just gone through a day of pampering. As always I asked myself why I don't make more time for this....
