I bought a gift card for my girlfriend. You get a great deal on the first appointment. The atmosphere was very clean and calming. The staff offered a relaxing room to wait while she was getting her message but I had shopping to do. From what I gathered, they offer a variety of services and a monthly membership. She was nervous because it was her first massage but she said the masseuse was very nice. She asked what level to push on each area and played calming music. After she finished she gave her some water and told her to make sure she stayed hydrated as she would have toxics making their way out of her body. As a member I've been to several ME locations and I think this has been my best visit thus far. The front desk staff were friendly welcoming me and my guest as we entered. Checking was swift and my masseuse was in place ready to escort me to our room. Cliff was an excellent masseuse. He first inquired as to what my needs were and what type of pressure I preferred. During the session I actually woke myself up because I heard my own snoring! Special attention was shown to my arm which had muscle ache from a recent injury. After getting dressed, Cliff was waiting outside the room with a cup of water. Check out was also swift. The lobby as the typical products available for purchase and the restroom, as well as the entire shop was clean. I have gone to this location a few times. They have some great (and not so great) massage therapists there, but the office staff leaves a lot to be desired. The office staff has scheduled me for a day that my therapist wasn't even working on, then told me that I had the wrong date, even though they wrote it on a card. They are not that friendly and when they try to be, it sounds really rehearsed, as if they are about to try and sell you something. If you ask for a specific therapist, double check before arriving, they have booked me with someone totally different then who I asked for as well. I have had massage therapists there say that other clients have complained about the same types of issues. Even if you have to drive out some or pay a little more...which I doubt, because they aren't that cheap, try somewhere else. The staff is friendly and helpful. Very welcoming atmosphere. I checked in and used their iPad to confirm things about the appointment. The process was quick and easy. My masseuse Josh was great. I felt comfortable and relaxed. The masseuse also let know that can let him know about the pressure points and what was happening during the massage. The massage was for an hour. When the massage ended I was given water and tips for stretching which was helpful. Overall this a great Massage Envy location. They make you feel relaxed and comfortable. Parking is pretty good. Beware! I am perfectly healthy, middle-age woman who went for a relaxing massage only to be in severe pain hours later, and develop a kidney infection requiring an ER visit & multiple medication's. I started bleeding, passing clots & severe flank pain from bladder spams. My masseuse was very rough on my lower back & kidneys, causing bruising, i.e. trauma. I reached out to Massage Envy to let them know what had happened to me and have yet to receive a call from management only reassuring that lack of care and apparent lack of knowledge for anatomy that led to my ordeal. Not only that, the so-called manager acted very incompetent and lacked effective customer service skills. Update from previous post: I have a membership therefore I'm at this location often .. things had seemed to be getting better since my last review, the therapist were coming out to get me on time and everyone was welcoming... Then today happened.. My 1 hour massage was scheduled for 3pm, I arrived at 2:50 checked in and went to the waiting room.. 3pm rolls around and nothing. At 3:05 I go back into the lobby and confirm my appointment was for 3pm she reassured me that my appointment was at 3pm and someone was on their way up to get me. Once 3:15 came I went back into the lobby to get an explanation, the receptionist looks at her computer and tells me nonchalantly that I was never checked in, she walks to the back then returns to tell me the therapist is on his way up and that I could go back into the waiting area.. that's it. No apology. The therapist came out around 3:20 and was very apologetic about the mishap, he informed me that his schedule was booked for the rest of the day so he couldn't give me the full hour because it would interfere with other appointments. We had to rush through my appointment in 30 mins yet still had to pay full price. The massage was great while it last but the overall experience has me feeling cheated. This location is awful. Showed up for a 10am couples massage which had been made the Tuesday before. When we got to the location the front desk staff had a really snotty attitude that my appointment was made for June 25th over a month in advance. When I informed them that there must have been a mistake, the front desk staff replied "nope, that's the date it is and there are no couples appointments." When originally booking the appointment, I confirmed with the lady twice that it was for THIS SUNDAY - to make it even better there was someone riding in the car to confirm what was said. We were at the location, spent our time and gas to get there to basically be told that there was nothing that they could do other than to put us in for back to back appointments later in the day. When she was told that wouldn't work she would only give points to our account. This is not the first issue with this location, they have refused appointments because "they did not realize that we were members" after they had been told blatantly at the start of the conversation. When we pay money ahead of time, there is the expectation that the services will be paid as agreed to by the company (Massage Envy). Additionally, there have been several times where the clinic has not honored preferences stated as terms of the appointments - such as requested genders of therapist, couples rooms, etc. I encourage you to spend your money elsewhere. read more

Today, I visited the Massage Envy Stockbridge, GA location as a guest of my sister who allowed me to help her use her membership visits, because she had not been able to use her very much needed massages due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. She was afraid of contacting the virus and exposing her Veterans that she care for, to this deadly disease. I am a Registered Nurse caring for patients on the front line as well. I very much needed the massage due to the increased stress I experience every day. After my visit, I asked the Manager on duty this morning at 11:00am, if there was a possibility that the additional fee for transferring the visit could be waived for my sister to allow my visit today, she became offensive and immediately told me that "she signed a contract that stated what the fees were when she joined". I told her that I understood, but was wondering if Massage Envy had made any modifications during this Pandemic to help their members. I told her that I was only asking the question, because I felt bad for my sister willing to give her massage appointments away and still have to pay the additional fees to do so. I understand that policies must be enforced, as a business owner myself. However, the COVID-19 Pandemic has caused millions of businesses to modify how business is done today. I also understand that policies can be changed, even if only temporarily. This manager said she would speak with another manager, then came back to tell me, saying...."No we will not be making any modifications to our policy before COVID, during COVID nor after COVID". I told her that I understood, checked out and left my gratuity for my therapist. She seemed offended that I would ask for a "Waiver" of the transfer fee on my sister's behalf. We are caring people, that care for people. Her harsh tone towards me was unprofessional and uncaring. My experience was extremely unprofessional. I had my consultation asking about a chemical peel. I was told it would take up to 5 treatments but I would see results after my first. Well, I did not. I made a appt with the lady who did my chemical peel. I was running late called the receptionist asking if it was still ok to come in she said yes. When I got there she said lady wasn't there. Really back customer service and scheduling issues. The people I spoke to were kind but the first time I scheduled; I called a few days before my appointment and they said they had no record of my appointment. I emailed my screenshot of record showing I had scheduled and they agreed to give me an enhancement. I called back a week or so later to schedule over the phone for my birthday. I did that and then a day before my appointment I get a text saying my appointment is for tomorrow with Eric (or another male therapist). I wanted a female therapist and so had to reschedule again. I requested off work for the following week to come in to have a massage with a female therapist. I got dressed that morning and excited and ready to go get my massage and then get a text message at 8 in the morning saying my therapist has to cancel. I purchased my husband a gift certificate for a massage that he finally decided to use. He made what would've been his first appointment and unfortunately was 13 min late. They told him he could still be seen, but he would only receive 30 min so he opted not to. A few days later he received a charge for $45. I have called this establishment numerous times to speak to the head manager about an issue I experienced from this establishment. I have made several appointments here and I have waited at least 15+ minutes for my therapist to come get me from outside. I do understand Covid is an issue and they must sanitize and clean the room. However, the issue is the communication. I've overlooked all the times that I've waited given that it is Covid. I even overlooked the times my appointment was scheduled wrong with no apologies given. This complaint I have regards the time I missed my appointment due to a family emergency during the time of appointment. I had the last appointment of the night and I could not call in the middle of the crisis I was in. I decided to call the very next day to let them know my situation and the manager was completely rude to me. I asked her is there a possible way that I could get my refund back and she replied no. She told me on my next visit I could get a free enhancement. I told her I appreciate the offer but could she at least meet me half way given the crisis I was in and I could not call to let them know. Half way meaning half of my credit/ money back. I even told her I didn't receive a reminder for my schedule appointment as I normally do. She verified that and still refused to meet me half way and said the enhancement is better than nothing and I should take it. I then asked her to let me speak to the head manager. She replied the head manager is not in but I could call back another time and request to speak to the head manager. She hung up immediately after that statement. Very unprofessional! Moral of the story, it is okay for this location to make numerous mistakes but when the customer makes one mistake that is completely out of his/ her control it's our responsibility to deal with it. This was very irritating and to me very unprofessional. About a week ago I was sent an e-mail reminder for an appointment for the next day. Not so relaxing visit last night. Checked in for my appointment and was instructed to have a seat in the "Relaxation Room". There were signs up regarding being quiet to encourage a more relaxed atmosphere. I sat to look down and see paper cups over flowing the garbage can and a few on the floor and papers here and there. Clearly the room hadn't been maintained. On the other side of the wall apparently was the staff office where there were staff seated. I sat in the relaxation room for about 10-15 minutes prior to my appointment and the entire time all I heard was the staff laughing and talking VERY loudly about random things. I'm not saying they couldn't chat amongst themselves and laugh but the level of voice should not be that loud where clients can hear you like that. I didn't like it at all. Also, a member of the staff was ordering chicken wings with the speaker phone on and I could hear the lady at the store telling her about all the wings specials they had as she placed her order. It just wasn't an environment conducive to relaxation which is what I had been anticipating. read more
