My wife and I went here on separate days and both had lackluster massages. First they rescheduled her appointment twice and on the 3rd try she was given someone who "specializes" in facial/cranial massages although she was there for a full body massage. Needless to say he focused most of the time on the head and not enough time on the full body. The girl who ended up massaging me was very young and fresh out of "massage school" and that was evident. I mentioned my lower back needed attention and she skipped that all together. She and the intake specialist mentioned face and head massage and she skipped those areas as well. This place is definitely not a spa and the push for a membership after that experience was laughable. Of course they show a full body on their tablet stating the whole area has a lot of stress. How would you know that when you skipped areas? Do not go to a retail spa in a strip center; the location is poor, parking is bad and the masseuse does not listen to your concerns. Customer Service training 101 should be implemented here. read more

At first we enjoyed but this has ended up being a nightmare. None of the massage envys can retain staff. If u get busy and the appointment build up there is no satisfactory solution. They charge each month for frozen account. They charge to transfer over massages to a spouse. If u cancel only have 30 days to use your built up massages. The staff are wonderful. Marie at the front desk is one of the best. Always friendly and helpful. I've been going to Amy Wellington for over twelve years for my massages. I have fibromyalgia and degenerative disk disease. She has helped me more than any medicine or physical therapy to ease my pain. She has the perfect touch and I leave my massage feeling invigorated and pain free. I don't know what I would do without her. I have been a long time Massage Envy member but I cancelled my membership in May. I had a 90 min massage w a male therapist. He was discussing vaccine (he is anti) and told me about "CDC conspiracy". When I tried to present him a different perspective, he got mad and discontinued the session. It was bizarre and unreal lol - I was not planning to talk about the sensitive topic and I was there to relax, I'd rather have no conversation at all, his unprofessional manner and inability to listen to different opinions appalled me. When I tried to talk to the front desk person, no one was at the front. I waited for a while before a girl came out from inside and wrote down my name because I said I wanted to talk to the owner. 2 days later I heard nothing. I called again and they told me they have 72 hours to respond, and 72 hours later after the call, the manager Rachel called me. She said she will investigate and I didn't hear about anything for another week. No specific apologies or any attempts to make it right. I cancelled my membership. I'd be careful to get a massage if you don't know the people who work there and if they vaccinated or not or believed in conspiracy theories. Very bizarre, and not a good experience when you try to get a massage. read more

I have been consistently disappointed by this location, the quality, cleanliness and customer service are not as expected. There are many other places in the Dayton area that are a better option. They are always trying to sell you a membership which I was eventually con into. I never was able to make a appointment so it was useless. Appointments I did have they would cancelled on me. When it came time for my membership to be up it wasn't up on said date since I wasn't able to come in to cancelled my membership with my sick baby and autistic child so therefore I was auto renewed for another month. So I joined their program in December. They had deducted $70 in Dec, Jan, Feb, March, April, May and June. I've only been there 3 times. The COVID slowed them down but they still collected their money. My appointment today was cancelled with no notice because my account was up to date. It appears you owe me 4 massages. My card was stolen so I had to cancel it. You would think if I was coming in today, I could have updated it. But no, this money hungry place just cancelled the appointment. Denied me service--March 2016, and then they refused to issue a refund for the gift certificates my husband purchased for me! They had FOUR people at the front desk gang up on me about the issue for which they denied me service, and it was absolutely ridiculous. If they are going to deny me service, then I want my money back so I can go somewhere else and then use the money for a massage from someplace who IS willing to give me service!! I've had much better treatment from other massage therapy places. I've been getting massages across the country since 1996 from Minnesota, Arizona, Texas, Maine, Ohio. I have never once been asked by any of the other place if I had "an infection." This place denied me service just because I had a finger infection as a result from peeling a cuticle back too far. I put Neosporin on the infection, and it was gone by the next day. But these people wanted a doctor's "permission slip" AFTER it cleared up before they would be willing to service me, which would cost me 3 hours of times to call, drive and sit in a doctor's office and then be charged the bill for visiting the doctor in the first place. Absurd! So do they also want a doctor's permission slip for the OTHER cuticle infection that I had on another finger last week? Or from a month ago? Or from the first time I had one in 7th grade? These people are too concerned with "liability" rather than allowing adult paying customers to make their own decisions for themselves. read more

BEST MASSAGE I'VE HAD IN A LONG TIME!! Excellent personal service and very calming atmosphere. Got a year membership, no pressure to buy it. Not the cheapest in the area but definitely not the most expensive. I feel they have good prices for what you get. $49 for 60 minutes with the first time promo, for any massage type. Membership is only $60 a month (1 massage a month) and you get discounts on additional massages. Without the first time promo and without a membership, a 60 minute massage is $80, so it just makes sense to get the membership. With the membership there is also massage roll-overs, so if you can't get one done one month you can get two done the next month at no extra cost. read more

My husband and I are members and have been coming here for years. I went in to get my 90 minute facial only to find out it had been canceled. I completely understand things happen, but this isn't the first, second, or even third time we have had appointments canceled. I drove 40 minutes to get here on my day off work and the front desk manager was nice, but she didn't offer to make it right. She just asked me if I wanted to cancel the massage I had scheduled at 4:00. My husband and I both have a massage at 4:00 so I kept it and told my husband we need to use up our visits so we can cancel our membership. Such a shame, because the concept is really good, but they need to have a back up plan so cancelations don't become their norm. read more

I was having back problems and since I thought the physical therapy wasn't working, I decided to try massage. I like Massage Envy, and Sara, my massage therapist, is the BEST! However, I don't care for the hard core stipulations of the membership plan. You get a membership for 12 months, but it's impossible to get out of until your 12 months is up. It's easier to get a used car. LOL. Otherwise, the service is great and it's a very tranquil environment. read more

My masseuse, Robin was very good. Nice music, nice ambiance, but when you compare it to Woodhouse it is like the difference between McDonald's and Ruth Chris' Steakhouse. For example the room you rest in before is a pale version of the one at Woodhouse with its chaise lounges, its available flavored waters , its throws if you want to sit back. There are no robes here, they just show you into a tiny room and tell you to undress and they will be back. There is a chair for you to put your clothes on or one hook with one hanger. Aromatherapy costs extra, so if you want some essential oils in your lotion you have to pony up more here. I do not remember anyone suggesting anything extra at Woodhouse and the oils and lotions are definitely scented already. Since massages at Woodhouse cost slightly less I cannot imagine why anyone would go here instead of there. If you live somewhere there are no other options it is a good bare bones massage. read more

My girlfriend bought me a membership here. I wasn't sure what to expect, I've never had a professional massage before. I am hooked! We go at least once a month. They're always nice and show us to the waiting area and it's usually just a few minutes before the massage therapist comes and gets us. I have a regular massage therapist now, Laura, but I've seen a handful of other who are awesome. Laura is my favorite. She is good at explaining why I am sore in the areas I tend to hurt and she helps my back feel better. I feel great after 90 minutes with her. I would highly recommend Laura! read more

There was no hard sell for the membership, the associates are always friendly. helpful, and consistently provide excellent service. The masseuse listens to my feedback and identifies areas that need work. When I had a question about billing the manager went out of his way to research it and quickly provide an answer. read more

I went beceause of the intro offer of $40. It lacked the ambience that some of the nicer salons have as far as lighting and music. The therapist did a decent job, but did not use much lotion which made it rough. There was also no head/face massage at all. read more

My husband and mother in law got me a gift card for my birthday. I booked an appointment online and they called me the next day to confirm. I had to give them my credit card over the phone to hold my reservation which I wasn't a fan of but I did it because they said they had to. Before my massage they tried to get me to buy the essential oils which was $10 more. I declined. My massage was nice but it wasn't anything spectacular. I think my husband could do about the same if he tried. Then after my massage the girl went through the monthly package and really pushed me to buy it. I said no and we went to the check out. Then the other girl there tried all over again to get me to sign up. I did not like how pushy they were to get me to sign up. I was there to relax for my birthday and after my massage they stressed me out again trying to get me to sign up for their package. I will go back once more to spend the rest of my gift card but then I definitely will be finding another place to get massages. read more

I have been a Massage Envy customer since 2002 and have spent alot of time in the massage rooms in Chandler AZ and Zionsville IN. I really love Massage Envy and all that it offers to its customers. But, I have had several TERRIBLE experiences at the Massage Envy in Dayton with the manager and the front desk. The massage therapists are pretty good at this location. Today, I had another scheduling problem and when I asked to speak with the manager she told me again it was my fault. When I asked how to resolve this ongoing problem she said "DON'T COME BACK TO THIS MASSAGE ENVY! WE DON'T WANT YOU AS A CUSTOMER." I have never been treated so rudely as I was today by Stephanie, the manager, and Josh LeBlanc the front desk representative. Stay away from the Dayton clinic. Hopefully the good message therapists will leave soon.... This clinic does not represent the good customer service standards of Massage Envy... read more
