I left my massage with the same level of tension as I arrived. I specifically requested medium tension when I booked, during the lobby consultation, and when I spoke to the massage therapist. When my massage began, he neglected to ensure I was comfortable including a neglect to adjust the leg pillow. He started the massage out with light tension and after two reminders I gave up. Once I laid on my back, he neglected to remove the head pillow and only massaged my feet. There was no shoulder, neck, or scalp massage. Entered 20 minutes early as i was told to get there early to do paperwork. Someone in an office adjacent to the lobby was talking SO LOUD on what i am assuming was a phone call that there was no way the environment could be considered relaxing. After a few minutes the "paperwork" was presented to me in the form of a few question doc on an IPAD. I waited in the lobby until my scheduled time and then I HAD TO APPROACH the receptionist to question why i was still in lobby. She told me that my therapist was running late and would "get to me as soon as she can." HUH?????? First- why did I have to come seek you our for that info? Second- why wait until AFTER my appointment was supposed to start to tell me I may be running late- I have things TO DO. I understand things happen but you are in the biz of providing customer service and this was the OPPOSITE of that. And I really loved the "as soon as she can." The rating is not a reflection of the overall facility. The customer service is actually very good. The masseuse I had was just not tailored to my personal preferences. Her style was very fickle, more like just rubbing, the massage didn't last the full hour which was what I paid for. She had gloves on, a personal preference of hers, so the latex was cold. And she frequently asked me how I felt, I like a more quiet massage. The good professionals can gauge how you feel. So I'm not sure if she's new, but if I ever came back I would look out for a different massage therapist, because from the quality of her service, there may not be any masseuse at the location. I was a member of the Toco Hills location for about 10 years. I retired and moved to North Georgia. Toco Hillls would not relase my membership to my new location. Last summer when they closed for remodeling they did not notify me which stopped me for booking appointments at my new location. Now I am trying to transfer 60 minutes of credit as a gift. 3 calls to Toco Hills and left voicemail message starting yesterday and 2 text messages and no response. Compared to my current location this is a no service location if you don't go physically to Toco Hills. If you are thinking of moving in the next few years, this is not the location for you. read more

However, what truly bothered me was the fact that my therapist concluded the massage 11 minutes earlier than the scheduled duration. This left me feeling disappointed and frustrated, considering that I had paid for a full 60-minute session but did not receive the complete allotted time. During the massage session, Nikki dedicated a significant amount of time to massaging one of my legs. However, when it came time to switch legs, she only spent about two minutes rubbing the other leg. This pattern repeated multiple times throughout the session. Upon leaving the massage room, I found it confusing and somewhat unprofessional that the massage therapist was not present to walk me out. It is customary for the therapist to guide clients out of the room and provide any necessary assistance or information. Furthermore, I experienced persistent pressure from the front desk staff to purchase gift cards and sign up for a membership, despite expressing my hesitation and need for more time to consider such commitments. Despite my clear indication that I needed more time to think, I felt continuously pressured to make a decision or spend additional money. Additionally, I informed the receptionists about my skin allergies and explicitly stated that I did not want an aromatherapy add-on due to this reason. However, they proceeded to ask me about it three more times, disregarding my initial request. This lack of attention to detail and disregard for my preferences was disappointing. Moreover, the cleanliness of the bathroom was subpar as there were no paper towels or soap available. This lack of basic amenities is not only unhygienic but also reflects poorly on the overall maintenance of the establishment. Lastly, the ambiance in the massage room was uncomfortable due to excessively loud music playing through blown-out speakers. The intention behind creating a relaxing atmosphere was undermined by this oversight, making it difficult to fully enjoy and benefit from the massage experience. I have a membership and this spot is my home site. Location and parking access is great. Staff is friendly and professional. I've visited a few times for massages, which are always wonderful. Yesterday I went for a microdermabrasion facial. I was really pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable my session with the esthetician (Kristian) was. She took great care in being gentle and deliberate. Afterwards my skin felt fresh and was glowing. In the before and after pictures attached I'm wearing makeup, but you can see my skin looks smoother! I will definitely return additional services. Clinic is under new management & I believe her name is Kristin! She was so sweet and understanding especially during these hard times. I was hesitant about coming in for services but her and her staff ensured that everything was sanitized and safe. I was 1st seen by David for a 90 minute massage & omg I was IN HEAVEN. David was very sweet and accommodating to my needs. I had a very bad crook in my neck & I left feeling amazinggggg! I received my full time & will be back to see him very soon! I was then seen by the esthetician Ms. Daniella for a microdermabrasion facial which I enjoyed as well. Ms. Daniella was very sweet & knowledgeable about all the products she used on my skin. I even purchased the Jan Marini line that girlfriends rave about! All therapists wore face mask & the esthetician wore a face shield as well. No explanation, no personal phone call to reschedule; I would have been a first time client. When I contacted the location I received a call back from Jasmine who left a message. As I work two jobs my schedule is pretty hectic...she never tried to reach out to me again or return my calls to discuss the situation. Earlier this week I went in personally to the location to obtain a refund and the manager, Jasmine was at the front desk. She said she must never have been given my messages, but that she did recall discussing my issue with Anna after one of my calls. That it was a corporate error that caused my appointment to be cancelled. She also stated that if they refunded the gift card it would need to be refunded to the person that purchased it. I told her that was absolutely fine. I gave her my number, she said she would reach out to her regional manager and follow up with me. Left another message on their answering machine and still have not received a call back to date. I emailed guest relations and here is the very client oriented response: Per the gift card terms and conditions, gift cards are nonrefundable. This is agreed upon before the purchase is made. All gift cards hold a dollar value. They can be used towards services or products in any Massage Envy. I apologize for the inconvenience and have a nice day. This was my first visit to any Massage Envy. I had never been inside one, so I was surprised by how sterile their décor is. I felt like I was arriving for a first time doctor visit instead of a relaxing one-hour massage. The massage room was also as clinical as the front area with a poster of muscle anatomy and bright white walls. (Note: The therapist darkens the room when your massage starts so the bright white walls are not distracting.) There was also a poster advertising Murad which is the skin care brand they use for their facials; I thought it was a bit tacky, and again, reminiscent of a doctor's office advertising medication. I found the room to be un-relaxing while I waited for my massage to begin, which is too bad because they encourage you to relax before and after your massage. My massage therapist, Dion, was great. Very informative and communicative during the massage about her process and what she was doing. She also regularly asked about the level of pressure, especially when working on my difficult back. They offer a membership plan for $59 a month that entitles the member to one massage a month (or a facial for $10 extra) and additional massages/services at a discounted rate. The membership is a pretty good deal. If I liked the look and feel of this place more, I would have signed up for it. I've been getting massages for years, and I prefer a less clinical feel to a spa, so I wouldn't come here again. But if that doesn't bother you, you'll be fine. read more

I wish that when I was going for a spa treatment like a massage, that I would be taken to a room with lockers where I could change into a robe and put my clothing in the locker. I want to sit in the relax room until it is my turn. I want to be given an option to shower and rinse off the stinky oil after my massage. I do not understand why this is not a standard. Look, a Massage Envy in one location is much the same as a Massage Envy in another location. I think they do a great job with consistent branding, but your therapist can be hit or miss depending on what you need. What makes the Toco Hills location stand out for me is Ronald. If you're looking for a frou frou spa massage where someone rubs a feather on you for 90 minutes, Ronald is NOT your guy. However, if you have tight muscles, knots, etc, and need someone to do some real work, Ronald is THE ONLY guy, in my opinion. From the conversations we've had, it sounds like he has some great experience that he brings to the (massage) table. He's able to get into the muscles and release the tension and toxins that you're holding on to, but I have never left feeling beat up, like you sometimes do after a deep tissue massage. Ronald does a great job at slowly approaching a problem area and working through it one layer at a time. If you need some real massage therapy, I would recommend booking at least a 90 minute session with him. You won't be disappointed! read more

I drove all the way to this location to pick up a gift certificate, arrived at 9:20 AM, and the place was dark with a locked door. I knocked and someone came to the door and told me that they don't open until 10:00 AM because of covid. She is saying this to me as I am literally reading the sign on the door directly in front of me listing the "new hours of operation," which states that they now open at 9:00 AM (instead of 8:00 AM) on Saturdays. Went yesterday for a $50 introductory massage and had the pleasure of getting matched up with Russell. We discussed some neck and back pain I've been experiencing and he was very insightful with regard to the root causes of my issues. He was respectful, approachable, and overall just a nice guy. Easy to talk to. The location itself is nice and everyone was very pleasant and not pushy at all. I read some questionable reviews about people feeling pressured into getting a membership and I honestly did not have any of that at all. Everyone was super pleasant and friendly and not once did I feel anything negative. When they asked me for a desired intensity for the massage, I marked "Deep" and Russell double confirmed with me that this was indeed what I wanted, saying that he was pretty strong and that he would not hold back. "Great!" I thought, and Russell got to work. I have had some relaxing massages. This was not one of them. And that's *exactly* what I needed. (and to be clear, that's what I asked for...) Russell found every problem area and thoroughly and efficiently worked out the kinks. After an hour of this, we were done and I was feeling great. Utterly destroyed, but great! Before I headed out, Russell even gave me some pointers on how to prevent this type of pain and irritation in the future, recommending an Epsom Salt bath for recovery, lots of hydration, a foam roller, and a good book that I'll soon be picking up off amazon. 24 hours later I'm feeling the after effects of yesterday, feels like I had a full body workout. Good stuff. Do yourself a favor and take advantage of the $50 intro massage and ask for Russell. Circle the word "Deep" on your documentation and get ready for the best massage you've ever had. When checking out of my session Friday, I was informed that I could no longer use my credits/points to pay for my tip and the enhancements they offered. I also had to provide my card to pay for the enhancements and tip. Previously I was able to use my credits/points to cover this. The front desk rep told me they had changes about two weeks ago and more changes were in the works. When I asked to identify what changes are being made, I was told she couldn't say. So why mention it. As a member for over a year, if changes are being made, we should be notified instead of being in the dark then alarmed at check out time. Everything is simple and to the point. Massage therapists and estheticians are attentive and customize your experience to your needs to the best of their abilities. I went in for a massage this past weekend with Shauna (sp?) and it was nearly life changing. I exercise and lift weights a good amount but am never very good with stretching and foam rolling. Also being a student, I'm hunched over my laptop and phone for hours every day. Shauna was able to work my neck and shoulders so that I felt like my posture was completely transformed when walking out after my appointment. I also really liked how customizable the experience was (opted out of foot massage because I'm as ticklish as Elmo) and how ME made the experience about my needs and preferences. I was scheduled for a 90 minute massage and didn't get the whole time and then I was sucked into a membership. As I was going through the e-forms, I was told that I would have 30 days to cancel with no problem and what a scam. I was only given a free enhancer on the next service for the shortened time and then after I wanted to cancel the membership, I was told by the assistant manager that I was locked into a 1 year contract, even after she told me that I had 90 days to cancel. They all seem to be all over the place and don't know what they're talking about and who gets locked into a spa contract like that?!?! The assistant manager told me that she would send me a copy of the contract that I signed but I didn't get it when I was told. I would NEVER EVER recommend this spa or go back for any service!!! I wasn't using my membership because the location was just not convenient to me so at the end of my contract I canceled it and was told that the services I had already paid for would be redeemable when ever I wanted to use them. I was mis-informed. Upon making my next appointment I was told that they had all expired. Apparently you only have 60 day to redeem any paid services. So basically I just lost almost $200.00. What a rip off!!! You can't do that to people! I asked to speak to the manager but she wasn't in that day but they took a message and said she'd call me back as soon as possible. Well it's been a week and no call from NO body. I want my money or my services!!! I paid for them!!! I am the owner of a hair salon and if anyone paid for a service ahead of time they would always have that credit. This company is a scam to get your money. They will not let you out of their contract even if you're unhappy with the services! The services are mediocre and are not an hour, it's 50 minutes and you can tell the therapist is watching the clock. I only found one good therapist that worked there. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Sunday was my first time at a Massage Envy. It was an okay experience. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment to fill out some forms. On said forms I said I preferred for my head not to be massaged - who wants to leave with lotion hair? I don't know if the lady didn't read my form, but she asked if she could. Since it was late in the day and I had 2 day old washed hair, I told her she could. I also told her once we were in the room that my main pain/focus needed to be on my back. I wish she would have spent more time on my back and not done my arms/legs. I left with knots in my upper and lower back which kinda sucked. Overall the massage was pretty good! The massages are okay. I went to a facialist three times and didn't see any changes in my skin. The service here is horrendous. I was pressured into getting a membership in March or April. They are truly relentless when it comes to the memberships. I WAS NOT informed that once you sign up for a membership, you have to retain that membership for an entire year. I called to cancel it because my job moved and it's no longer nearby, and also because I'm trying to cut back on bills, at which time I was informed that I had a one year membership and couldn't cancel it. I was super upset having not been told this when I signed up (and I know that I asked b/c I was thinking to myself "what's the catch?") and the response from the lady who I tried to cancel with was "well you should've read the brochure before you signed it." You're right I should have - and I typically do - but after asking a million questions about it, I didn't think I'd be BAMBOOZLED into a contract. I was upset - this conversation happened maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago - and supposed to receive a call from the location's business manager which never happened. How can I enjoy what's supposed to be a relaxing treatment when I was basically forced into paying for it? I can't. So I've been giving them away and even to transfer, it costs $10. Honestly, the services are just okay. You get what you pay for. Chemical peel - don't recommend. It's an additional $40 for the after-care kit (mandatory) which is completely unnecessary given how docile the chemicals are. On a scale of 1-10, the sensation I got was zero. I've had chemical peels with my dermatologist and felt a 7-8. If you want a professional chemical peel, go to a professional. I have been going to this Massage Envy for about 2 years. I transferred to this location from California. I really like the reception staff here. They are very friendly and helpful. They are very accommodating and make you feel welcomed and comfortable. I am always offered tea or water while I wait and offered to go into the tranquility room if I want quiet before my massage or facial. I can usually get an appointment for the time I request or close to it. Don't get me wrong they can get busy during typical busy times and there have been times when I called and nothing that worked for my schedule was available but most of the time (85%) that is not the case. The parking can be a little annoying because they are in a "strip mall" with some other popular stores and sometimes I have to drive around a couple times to find a spot but I have never been late or missed an appointment looking for parking. I just have to park further than I would like (i.e. not right in front the store) but it is not bad at all. I have gotten both facials and massages here. All but one of my massage therapist have been very receptive to my feedback and addressing my concerns. I am very satisfied with my massages and usually fall asleep during the massage. They only have one esthetician at this location at a time so if you don't like the person you will be out of luck but I like the person they have now. I have noticed that there is a high turnover with the massage therapists and estheticians so if you want a set person forever and all time then this is not the place for you. I can usually find 1-2 people I really like and keep them for 6-12 months before one or both of them leaves and then I find new people. They always have several to chose from and like I said they are all good it's just finding your right match. And the receptionists people that have been there a while can help match you up with someone based on how you like your massages. That is usually how I find a new person if my regular person leaves or isn't available. That is the only reason I don't give them 5 stars. My only complaint and criticism is that they don't keep a steady staff long enough for me to really work with a therapist longterm and establish a relationship with them. Other than that I don't really have any complaints or suggestions. As far as the other reviewers comments about the place not being "spa-like" enough for them or that there are no showers, Massage Envy is for people who really just need the therapeutic effects of massage therapy and facials. The environment is totally conducive to relaxing and being comfortable for your massage but if you want the whole fancy spa experience this is not for you. Places that have all the bells and whistles have prices that reflect that (ex. Spa Sydell, Chateau Elan). Massage Envy is an affordable place for people who enjoy massage therapy on a regular basis and don't need all the special fancy spa stuff but really just want a good massage. And when it comes to quality of massages I have gotten as good or better massages at Massage Envy than any of the upscale spas I have been to. As spa places go yes it may feel a little "doctors' office-like" but for those who have not been to a true spa then massage envy is spa enough. It's the same difference between getting a manicure and pedicure at a traditional (typically) Asian nail salon and getting a manicure/pedicure at a spa. You don't expect the same facilities and decor at a nail salon that you would a spa because the service goals and target customers are different and the more fancy it gets the more pricey it gets. I can appreciate a place that cuts out all the extra stuff and I can just pay for what I want. I purposefully book late appointments because I usually go home after my massages and if I want to take a shower or soak in a hot bath I can do it in the comfort of my home plus I don't particularly care to use public showers anyway. One of the things I LOVE LOVE LOVE about massage envy is that I can book an 8pm or 9pm massage and then go straight home, shower, and go to sleep. Very relaxing! As far as the decor, it isn't going to matter when you close your eyes and enjoy your massage. As long as it is nicely decorated, clean/sanitary, and comfortable I am happy. I love relaxing as much as the next person, maybe even more so since I have been a Massage Envy member for the last 4 years and have been getting massages 1-2 times a month for the last 4 years with occasional facials. I enjoyed the facial I received from Tracey. The entire time I was thinking that I would enjoy coming back for another facial or massage until I checked out. My entire check-out process was frustrating. The person checking me our kept trying to sell me on buying a membership. this first attempt I understand but after I said no I was not interested, her response was "why" then she went into why I should buy it again, I said no again. After my second "no" she again tried to almost guilt me into buying a membership, i said no for the third time, then she moved on to me buying their skin care products which I declined again as well.
