What a perfect hidden gem! I was looking for a good sports/deep tissue massage this past weekend, as I'm in the midst of training for the Boston Marathon and have hit some bumps in training with some IT Band issues. When I found this place online, the prices seemed reasonable, and the staff seemed knowledgeable and experienced... plus they had appointments on Sundays... in the afternoon even! Upon arriving, I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but Angela greeted me, and we discussed what was troubling me at the moment, and how she planned to tackle the hour I had signed up for. The place was small and cozy, welcoming scents of relaxation, and a perfect background soundtrack to put me at ease. Once I was settled in for the massage Angela got to work. I don't think my IT Band/legs have ever received such attention; everything was that, hurt but feels good feeling... if you've ever had sore muscles, or tight muscles, you know what I mean... Nothing was to a point of actually hurting, but I could tell my body needed this massage more than I thought. The hour seemed to fly by, but she gave equal attention to my trouble spots, and gave me an in depth discussion post massage about her observations and how I should continue going forward to help these issues. I definitely plan to follow her advice, and to see her again before the marathon and most definitely afterwards! This place is worth what you pay and very personalized attention! The massage therapist that I had been going to for years moved out of state and I thought I would never find another that would be strong enough or willing to put in the effort it takes to unknot my messed up neck and back. Major props to this unpretentious little shop on the outskirts of beautiful Wrentham. The scenario--on Saturday I'm feeling a serious kink in the neck, and call for a Sunday appointment. With only a day's notice they graciously accommodate me. Then I want it later in the day--well, 3:45 is past closing time, but let us see if we can find someone who can do it...a little later they text me and I'm good to go! Amazing customer service. Linda was my therapist and was excellent. First time I've told a therapist where to focus and the person actually applies the attention right where most needed. I booked a deep tissue massage at the recommendation of a fellow CrossFitter after complaining about a few aches and pains. Online scheduling was as easy as it gets. I was surprised and excited to see that they had Sunday hours. The place has ample parking and is very cozy. This was my first deep tissue massage, so I had only booked a 30 minute session to ease myself into it. Angela talked with me about what I was looking for and was clear about what we could do in 30 minutes, so I knew exactly what to expect. She made me feel very comfortable right away, explaining the techniques she'd use and emphasizing the ones that some clients may shy away from. It was only mildly painful, not nearly as bad as I was expecting, but very effective. She found some trouble spots that hadn't been giving me issues in a while but were obviously still problems. I was very disappointed with my prenatal massage. Three separate times (in the comments section of the online appointment, paperwork I filled out, and verbally) I had discussed how I do not nor did I want my thighs to be touched or massaged. However, the masseuse put heavy focus on those areas. After 20 weeks, a pregnant women should NOT be lying on her back, especially for significant periods of time. I spent the majority of my 90 minute massage on my back which left me in so much pain. THe worst part was the masseuse did not pick up on my body cues (tensing my body, moving away, cringing etc) and continued the horribly deep pressure. I will take part of the blame by not speaking up but at the same time, the masseuse should have noticed. I left in worse pain and the day after, I can barely walk. I will be calling my doctor regarding the condition I was left in. read more
