I'm sure there were other things I'm missing too. I made an appointment for a Friday morning and dropped my car off at 8am. The owner, Mark, was very friendly. They told me it would be ready by noon and it was ready by 11am. When I picked it up I was amazed. They did an awesome job. Every nook and cranny was cleaned spotless. Inside the cup holder, every spot of the carpet, EVERYWHERE was cleaned. I don't think it was even that clean the day I bought it! It was worth every penny and I can't wait to go back.

We have been customers of Scrub a Dub for 40 years! We are Scrub a Dub believers, enthusiasts, and…read moreloyalists. The nuts and bolts of the Chelsea Scrub a Dub tunnel car wash are very good; the quality of the (tunnel) car wash is very good, HOWEVER: (1) The Chelsea car wash is a high volume car wash/operation for Scrub a Dub. Commensurate with high volume, comes income and profitability, which, in my opinion, commands high levels of Scrub a Dub "management's attention," on-going maintenance, and efficiency. The latter is lacking at Scrub a Dub's Chelsea car wash, and has been on a downhill slide for several years. For example, why pay a lot of money for a car wash, to exit the car wash to a "pond/lake," that, as soon as your car exits the car wash, trashes your clean car? See the attached pictures of the pond/lake, at the exit of the tunnel car wash. This condition has existed for 3 years. How could that be?; (2) Speaking of maintenance, and monitoring systems, how could it be that the lights behind the car wash feature signs in the tunnel wash, are constantly burned out, and one can't tell what add-on their car is receiving, or the add-on that one asked not to receive? This, is, again, another sign of Scrub a Dub Chelsea's failed maintenance and monitoring (an Absentee Landlord!); (2) The self-service car wash bays are in a constant state of disrepair. For example, the other night, as is often the case, I went to apply pre-wash or pre-clean/soak to my car, and all I got was a minute of compressed air, no solution. This is a regular event, not an unusual occurrence. How could this be? I wonder, does Scrub a Dub's management, cycle through the car wash as "their customer would/does" to live the dream of their customer? After 1 minute of lost time on the meter, I came to the conclusion that I was not going to get pre-wash or pre-clean/soak. Then, to make matters worse, when I moved the dial to the wash cycle, the machine dispensed no soap. This is a regular event. In my opinion a sign of failed maintenance program, and an Absentee Landlord. This by the way, was after pulling into two prior car wash bays that had equipment that was broken or disassembled; (3) The "car mat clips" remain, often inoperable, over-used, and worn out. They do not support even the skinniest of car mats, including the most popular brand of car mats, Weathertech. The "car mat clips" are old, long ago in need of replacement. Maintenance? quality assurance? it does not exist; (4) The gangs, blaring music, trespassers are an ongoing liability to the Chelsea Scrub a Dub car wash; the staff (including Scrub a Dub's "Security"), entirely disregard unacceptable behaviors (like car wash bays that are occupied by thugs who are not washing their cars, blaring music, alleged music that is nothing but shouted expletives, etc). In my opinion, the Scrub a Dub Chelsea car wash needs regular visits and oversight be Scrub a Dub's best and brightest leadership and owners.

Here's wht happened to us. Driving by, going north, we saw gas $2.69 and planned to buy gas there on the way back south from our northern destination. Yes, returning south we stopped there for gas and started filling up the tank. After filling, my friend happened to look up high above her and saw that $2.69 IS THE PRICE ONLY IF YOU ALSO BOUGHT A CAR WASH AT THE SAME TIME. If you did not buy a car wash, gas costs $3.89 / gallon!! The lower price is posted above the higher price, so that driving by at Lynnwy speeds, you are easily fooled. The two different prices and service options (gas, gas with car wash) are not listed on the pumps. Their advertising is false and is designed to charge the ridiculousy high price of $3.89 / gallon if you don't hang around and read their very tall. highway-height price signs to learn the scam they are perpetrating. I live in North Andover, so I don't really live close to this business…read more But I was close by today and was intrigued by the $5 Car Wash & free Vacuum signs during my many trips down Route 1, so I gave it a try. It's kind of confusing finding out where to go, after pulling off of busy Route 1. I pulled up to the towel man and he directed me to the rear of the building and I went into the wash and asked for the Basic - $5 wash. He took my credit card, gave it back to me and mopped down my car with some sudsy stuff. I usually go to Haffners near my house and they usually do more mopping prior to the wash, but my car wasn't that dirty today. I'm not sure if they're more diligent during the slushy winter season. The equipment looks similar to Haffners - nice touch - at the end is a sign telling you to put your car back in drive when you reach the sign. Next, either left to the vacuums or right to the towel man (per the sign posted) So I went over to the free "turbo" vacuums. Wow - best vacuum set up there are outside "bays" many of them. When you pull in there is a trash receptacle and a place to clamp a placemat on to vacuum. There us a sign with a reminder that the free vacs are for car wash customers and that any music being played should be at a respectful volume (probably a nod to previous reviewers). There are two hoses available on either side of the car - very nice. I went to grab a hose and found that the vacuums are on all of the time and are so strong that you have to forcibly pull the nozzle from it's holster. I hung my mats on the placard for a vacuum and then used the vacuum on the car interior. Nice powerful vacuum. I wish this car wash was closer to me.
