Had service done on 90 hp Honda. Supposedly changed and replacement ed water pump and thermostat. Went to real boat shop in Costa Mesa. There in Costa Mesa l watched them drop lower unit and the bolts for thermostat were rusted on after work to replace in August. Big lie and the water pump impeller housing two bolts had to be heated to be taken out obviously never done. Most likely blew compressed air thru system and billed me for total replacement. This place is a better boat shop than the two other boat shops I've been to in LA. At other shops, I felt taken advantage of. Here: I've felt AND SEEN that the owner takes his time to do a great job, after EXPLAINING EVERYTHING to me thoroughly. Birch always shows me what he's going to do,, before he does it. I bought a 2016 Robalo in October of 2019 from a guy in Texas. The boat was in great shape but needed a few things added and few things fixed. I thought I would be able to do some of the work my self but, with a busy work schedule, I didn't have the time. My brother in law took his boat here and had good things to say. Berg was great. He added all new electronics, VHF radio, Fish finder/chart plotter. Also added new trim tabs, replaced the bilge pump and float. They also resealed both bait well pumps and resealed the through hull. He also suggested that I do the impeller service since I wasn't sure if it was ever completed. All and all it wasn't cheap,(it was a lot of work) but the work was done well and in a timely manner. I took my severely neglected 04 18ft maxim to master marine to get it back workable shape. Very transparent about everything and did an exceptional job. I couldn't recommend master marine enough. Ended up redoing the entire interior, impeller service, rebuilt carb, steering cable, sound system, and a tune up. It is running better than ever! read more

Excellent service. The owner communicates very well. I needed my boat fixed quickly because I was going out of town. He helped me right away. I got a call within 2 hours with the problem and the solution. He txted me photos and videos of the issue along with pictures of the new parts being put in. I'm not saying Berdj is a total rip off owner BUT the trim on my boat was not working properly. It would go down sometime and get stuck. Took it to this shop and after their inspection I was told the fluid lines had a leak. The cost was going to be close to $500 for repairs. I decided to pass and drive it out to Perris CA where I bought it. I only went to Berdj because it was so close to where I live. Anyway after the Inland Boat Center's inspection * I was told all is need is a new reservoir cap because the one on there now is damaged and fluid is leaking out the top. NO COST other than MY TIME. I have to admit I did not think Berdj was going to fix my 4 seater see-doo. It had been "repaired" several other places but just wasn't running as well as it did new. Berdj serviced it and tuned it up and said "there's nothing wrong; it just needed to be tuned up". I was pleasantly surprised when I got it on the lake and it ran better than ever! I had my boat serviced here a few weeks ago for the first time by Berg and think he did a great job. He changed the oil re built the carburetor and serviced the impeller. This place is a scam. I called to check to see how much would it cost to replace a power trim /tilt solenoid. Owner picked up the phone and told me it's about $180 to replace a $14 solenoid. read more

My experience with Master Marine has been a waste of a lot of money and time trying to fix the damage that was done to my 2 skis that I took there. Berg tried to make it right when I took them back for a 3rd time to put in the 2 new impellers that he previously charged me for, but didn't put in. There is major fiberglass damage caused by them putting in a wrong, used impeller. He tried to fix the damage with silicon, also didn't work. They are now at another shop getting fixed right. I also had to buy 2 new batteries that he charged me for but didn't put in. If you want to lose your season and spend money on work that never gets done, but charged for, this is the place for you read more

I decided at that point to try and sell it and Berg found a buyer for me and even kept my boat at his lot without any charges. Don't waste your time. I was really disappointed as Master Marine is really close to my house. one of the first things that hard-ass Berge said to me was why don't you get a new boat? I love my boat. After that it was a battle about work I wanted done and work he thought needed to be done. so if you like being treated like a kid and reprimanded for all the things that you don't know then go ahead have a good time because he will make you feel crappy. On top of that he didn't put my boat together and left it dirty with chips in the gel coat. Greasy Footprints and handprints all over the deck and gunnels. read more

I have a used Parker 1801 with a Pacific trailer. The boat is my baby. I have only used a mechanic in San Diego so when it was time to get my 100 hours service on my Yamaha 115 I was unsure where to go in the Los Angeles Area. I found Master Marine Boat Service on Yelp (with no reviews) and spoke with the owner Berge and decided to go with this company. I am very happy I did. The manager (forgot his name already-cool guy and very knowledgeable) walked me though what was done, they also own Axel Pro's next store and my trailer was in desperate need of a complete new brake job. Berge noted that the condition of my rotors and shoes was no less than dangerous (mind you these guys also own Axle Pro's-so they are experts) and when I arrived to pick up the boat and trailer they showed me the terrible condition of these parts (CRAZY BAD RUST/CRACKING/CORROSION) (Salt water only for my baby-salt water is HELL). Couple of sides: I happened to provide my own YamaLube and was not sure how many quarts my 115 required-I brought 6, but only required 4.75...they returned my unused YamaLube (small thing but I was impressed). They also had to hunt down the specific parts for my Pacific Trailer. It was a pleasant experience and I felt well treated. Plus my "baby" is ready for the Kelp Bass again! read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. Burj was nothing more than a grimy repair man who charges an outrageous amount and does not follow through with the work. On our receipt it says that he put in brand new impellers, which is false we just had to pull out the impeller after only 1 trip on the water due to Burj putting in the wrong part Not only was it the wrong part; but it was also used. So we payed for new and got used and broken. Due to the wrong impeller being installed (installed improperly) another part on our sea doo broke, this part that broke is next to impossible to find as Bombardier doesn't make it anymore. As for the other sea doo there is body work that was not done properly, as after one trip there is paint on the bunks of our trailer. He also stated that he would do work on our trailer, which he did; but did it the cheap and easy way out. And after just one trip the repairs he did are already broken and had to be fixed again. There were many other small things he claimed he would fix that never got done. End of story Burj says he will "hook you up", ends up charging you top dollar (which is fine if the work gets done properly) and does a sub par job. Save your time and money and take your boats and jet skis to Berts Mega Mall or any other boat repair shop! read more
