He loves the program as well as my husband and I do too. The whole team is awesome. Mrs. Howard is very detailed and great at communicating everything to us about the program and upcoming schedule. Mr. Howard is an awesome teacher. He is so patient (more than I would ever be teaching kids) and knowledgeable of Martial Arts and training. His crew is also top notch. Mr. Ali and Mr. Bucholtz have been with the program since my son has started (1 1/2 years ago) and very dedicated to the classes they teach. The staff at the Y club does not require IDs however, if you go in the staff at the front desk, always ask for a photo ID and will not take my safe at home ID, which is what I am required to carry. Every single time it's an issue and they have to call Courtney over. When you pick up for aftercare the gentleman that is always there sits at a makeshift desk and refuses to get up to come to your car to have you sign out your kids, not a big big deal but when you have an infant in your car all the time it's very inconvenient and I do not like leaving him in the car alone. I say this every single time and every single time he refuses to come to my car so I can sign the girls out. There have been a couple other instances and I'm hoping the school year just goes a lot smoother.

Grandmaster Tae Hyen Park is an 8th degree, 8th Dan, Black Belt certified by the Kukkiwon in Korea and teaches every day of the work week at his two schools in St. Louis. Some of Grandmaster Park's students have started their own schools. In those 21 years at Parks I have watched 10+ Martial Arts schools in the area go out of business - you do not want to start your training at a school that hasn't been in business at least 10 years. You want to stay with the same Grandmaster during all of your training. I started here about 11 years ago when my 2 boys were little, we took some time off and then came back about 3 years ago-am I glad we did! We all got our 1st degree black belts 2 years ago, and my 17 year old son and I just got our 2d degree. It's great to have something that a 53 year old mom can still do with her 17 year old son. It has been an inspiration for me to watch him grow from a little boy beginner to now being a full instructor. That's one thing I really like about Park's Martial Arts, it's for almost anyone. Students from little kids to teenagers to those just out of college to parents are all able to reach their full abilities at this school. Special needs kids also take classes. Even though there are many different abilities, everyone can get a great workout. And, no matter what ability you have, discipline and respect are expected from everyone.

When I arrived Leslie created me and was very friendly as she introduced me to the gym. I was excited about an intro class and was pleasantly surprised (and scared) that it was a 1:1 session. After checking me in Leslie had me jump right it, she did a full 30 min circuit with me not only to instruct but motivate. The workout itself was superb, it gave real life practical exercises to protect yourself in an attack while still giving you a great, quick workout. One thing I took away was immediately seeing where I needed to grow stronger, if an attacker was on top of me would I really be able to fight them off right now? I'm excited to take my learnings and return to 30min hit to keep getting stronger. This women-focused, women owned gym is a hidden gem! Everyone needs to try it out!
