I would give them zero stars if this was an option. After hiring Mastino to manage our community a few years passed and we learned of the lawsuits against the company and followed the case progression. Just google it and you will find the judgement. Anyhow, we nicely moved to a new management company and during this process learned that our HOA hadn't filed taxes for multiple years putting our 501c3 status in jeopardy, they don't have our financials, design guidelines, or architectural guidelines, and have simply not provided our information to the new company - my guess is they don't have it and simply pretended to work all of these years. I just saw that Mastino finally went bankrupt after being sued for stealing from one of their clients. It's far overdue. They were the worst property management company ever. They mismanaged our money, but luckily not as bad as the one they are currently being sued for -- $700K stolen. The news article says it was spent on a new car and luxury items. Unfortunately, Colorado laws are so lax that it's easy for them to do this. Even before that, they didn't do their job. When they were actually on the property -- which was rarely -- they did nothing. Nothing got fixed and nothing got done until we finally started doing it ourselves. They failed to pay many of our bills and we finally had to take over and self-manage the property because they were so bad at their job. If they are still operating in any capacity, I'd recommend leaving them and finding a reputable property management company. read more

I currently live in a condo with Mastino Management and Kim Bacon as HOA managers of both of our HOAs (pool and condo). Nothing--and I mean NOTHING--has been taken care of. Bad landscaping--if any, rare snow removal, dry rot on the stairs and roofs, water damage inside of the condos (my condo has mushrooms growing on the inside because of the roof damage), the mailboxes have been broken for over a year--since April 2020 (it is the HOA's responsibility to replace these so the mail can be delivered securely), the parking lot has huge potholes, and the pool is (finally) open (last year because of Covid, but no reason not to be open on Memorial Day as it has been for the 8 years I've lived here). Because I wrote a previous review, Kim refuses to respond to my rental management company about exchanging the previous pool key for a current one. They have contacted her by phone and email daily and weekly for the last month. I finally went to an HOA meeting so I could exchange the key at the end of the meeting. Kim told me I had no right to be in the meeting and because of that, she wouldn't exchange the keys. I didn't talk, vote, or ask questions in the meeting. This was the ONLY TIME and PLACE we knew she would be at to exchange the key. She said she reported me to the police for trespassing, but that was a lie. Residents, people who have rights because they live on the property, cannot be charged with trespassing. Mastino and Kim Bacon are currently being sued by The Villas at Meridian Village for mismanagement and misappropriation of HOA funds (The Villas believe , after a forensic audit, there is missing revenue of $81k). There is no transparency in spending. In fact, Kim refuses to communicate with all the residents, meaning the ones that rent. When she responds to people, she says this is fake news. We were on Denver7 because things have gotten past a tolerant level. Coding came out and said they would like to condemn parts of these condo buildings. Kim thinks less information shared would lessen people writing reviews like this. She is wrong. Controlling information, being unforthcoming, and being angry and vengeful only makes people not trust her and become more suspicious. The most incompetent and racist HOA. We closed the house for a whole month and call multiple times, they did not give us the access to the HOA portal until way later. We submitted the architecture design, we waited nearly another month just to receive ambiguous letter of denying from Kimberly Bacon. The whole association should be shut down or get sued. The community needs people that can do the job and know what they are doing! This Mastino HOA is exactly the bad image that everyone has when it comes to HOA. I am writing a response to Kim Bacon's response to my original post. Kim, Yes, you had emailed some of the documents to me, but they were not inclusive. I later had more questions, but you did not furnish or direct me to the ones to which I was entitled legally. You directed me to an irrelevant page. This statement is misleading and incomplete. You and I had NO mediation. I was in mediation with a neighbor, who refused to mediate, and the mediation was dropped. This statement is a lie. There was NO alleged trial in which you allege that neighbors were going to testify against me. This statement is a lie. I have not attended METRO Board meetings yet, as your rules require me to sign up to speak before the meeting schedule is even posted, depriving me of knowledge of when the meeting will be held, and assigning a deadline to sign up which is prior to the release of the meeting schedule. This statement is a lie. The only truth in your post seems to be that you send me a few emails. You have, however, committed libel. As I have seen a number of inaccurate posts from you, it seems your style is to lie, hoping people believe you. Yet you get mostly 1's in reviews about your company. This company negligently managed our community's funds. We were left with over $159,900 of debt that was not paid to contractors. We're all being asked to now pay additional monthly HOA dues plus a bulk fee because of their error. We as citizens don't deserve this as we followed through on our end of the deal. The company won't take calls or respond to emails and it's a shame. Our swimming pool was always in disrepair, the community common grounds look awful in some parts of the community, and all because someone wants to line their pockets. This is fraudulent and we're stuck between a rock and a hard place because if we pursue legal action we're paying or if we just go about our business, we're paying. I have been trying to get a resolution since July 15. It is now Sept 18. There is a hole in the outside wall above my bedroom that wasps were building a nest in. Since it is the outside wall, i have to work with the HOA company to get it taken care of. I have been getting the runaround from them and Orkin ever since. I don't know what is going on but somebody is lying. Nobody from Orkin had ever called to schedule an appointment, but they told Mastino it was taken care of. Mastino never checked with me to verify. There was also some back and forth about a contract before Orkin would schedule. They are apparently either waiting for me to give up, or is a scam between the companies to give Orkin our HOA's money without Orkin doing anything. Shady and irresponsible. I hope we don't renew our contract with them. This happened on another part of the building with our previous management company. It was completely handled in 5 days. We were emailed today that this this Management company mismanaged our funds and owe people (contractors, landscapers, etc.) $159,000.00 and aren't responding to our current Management companies emails or legal letters. Kim Bacon, the owner needs to be held accountable. Highly recommend going with any other management company if possible. read more
