This place has become very problematic lately. I have a mortgage with them, and they recently…read moredeleted my auto pay. They called and left me a threatening collections message. When I called them on it, they said that I had never made an electronic payment which I had regularly for the last 8 years! After a couple of days and some bugging, they researched it, and finally admitted that it was their mistake. They said that they had deleted the auto pay information for another customer with a similar account number but deleted my information instead. If you ask me they get they need to get some new employees who can read numbers! Their employees are not trained very well and they treat the members like crap. I also have to wonder why an Alaskan based credit Union contracts a company in New Jersey to do their mortgage loan servicing this doesn't make sense to me!

I still recommend this credit union for checking, they are the best place to do personal checking…read morein Anchorage...by a long-shot! For a loan, they are terrible. TLDR: they did a hard pull on my credit, asked me some details, and then ignored me for going on 10 days now. 2 weeks ago: used the form on their website to apply for an auto loan on a vehicle that's lease was almost up. I get a notification from my credit monitoring service that a hard pull has been done on my credit. Few days later: I get a follow-up email from loan processor S.F. (on a Saturday) asking for more details about my car and when the lease expires. I email back 25 minutes later giving her all the details she requested and letting her know the lease was expiring soon and to please let me know if the time table was too aggressive. 5 days later: no response, so I send a follow-up email about the status of the loan. 3 days after that: my lease is up, I need the money, and I still have no response. I ask S.F. what I can do better next time to make the process go quicker. I don't know why I was ghosted in a down economy by my own credit union, it's sad and disappointing. Be aware, if you try to get a loan here they will quickly ding your credit, respond to you a few days later, then ignore you. At least that is the process that was followed here.

I came in over the weekend to do a debit card cash advance to pull out $10,000. I have a savings…read moreaccount with NSFCU but my main bank is USAA. I swiped my debit card and the bank teller told me my transaction didn't go through, so he tried again and then it said insufficient funds. I looked at my bank account on my phone and the 10k has been taken out of my account labeled cash advance NSFCU. Well NSFCU had no record of it and because it was a weekend no one was available to call. So I wound up walking out of the bank that day with 10k less. Tuesday rolls around and the CFO reached out to me and told me they have no record of the transaction and my money was lost. USAA has verified that the payment was made to the bank and it has already been posted in my account. So 10k just disappeared into the sky according to this CFO, never in my life have I heard a chief financial officer say sorry your money is just gone. What the hell is wrong with that guy. He told me to dispute the charge with Usaa which I did, and the day after I had 10k back in my account. But the money didn't come back from the dispute, NSFCU reversed the payment and sent me my money back. So they got the payment the whole time, but no one could see it or tell me where my money was. If that doesn't scare you away from this pos bank then idk what does. They have been reported to the FDIC and hopefully someone looses there job over there, 10k to some is a life changing amount of money. Absolutely unacceptable.
