10/10 food, drinks, service, and entertainment! Came here soon after arriving to Tulum for the first time and will definitely visit again! Cute indoor/ outdoor ambiance in a great part of the hotel zone.

This place usually is jam pack during the nights, but I can tell you that it's a very decent place to go in the afternoon. There are fish bites are outstanding. They always have a fresh catch of the day which will get you something nice like mahi-mahi or tuna or whitefish we also took Tacos they were super good. They have different type of salsa that you can try on their services. Great there's a good vibe, but they don't have air conditioning. It's an open seating so if it's hot, you're gonna be sweating all the time their fans are not very effective. I'm had some difficulty with translating what we wanted, but we made it. The food was great.

Very good meal. Excellent service from Facundo. Loved the ambience with the open air and fun decor. We ordered fish tacos, quesadillas, drinks and more. Definitely worth checking out when in Tulum.

Excellent tacos at a good price, for for about 300 pesos. No mix-and-match though. Prices in dollars and pesos. Great place for lunch.

I could drink these cucumber drinks all day everyday

The best place to watch sports in Tulum. I came here for the NFL playoffs and had a great time! I live for the cucumber drink. I was not impressed with their food- the wings and the coconut shrimp were very underwhelming, I would stick to just drinks next time. The service is fast, prices are a bit high for a "sports bar" but I did go during high season.

My favorite little spot to relax and people watch

Dreaming of our annual Tulum vacation this year and I know one of the first stops will be Mateo's! A great, casual spot- and it was across the road from our villa- perfect! My boyfriend and I absolutely loved sitting at the front bar, chatting to the staff and often making new friends who were vacationing also! I don't drink- but the coffee was delicious, and the beers served cold (for him lol). My favorite was the live music at night! It's not every night so be sure to check- but it is well worth it to plan around. I just all around like the friendly energy of this little gem! Can't wait to be back soon!

2 drinks for $200 pesos, what else can you ask for? (Before 7pm of course) Also a nice treetop view of the sunset. Pina coladas Tequila Sunrise

Fun little stop in between the north and south beaches of Tulum. Patio seating facing the main road that goes through Tulum. Fish tacos were very tasty and flavorful even the grilled version. The guacamole was also yummy and a good snack on our bike ride journey to the south of Tulum. Prices aren't too bad and you can sometimes get lucky with a 2 for 1 happy hour in the afternoon on drinks.

Great fish tacos! We were walking by and the decor of the place caught our eye, with the large open space, and colorful decorations. We started with drinks and they have one of the best mango margaritas I've ever tried- so refreshing and the mango chunks were a great touch. They also have cheladas and micheladas. For food, we ordered guacamole and ceviche to start. The guacamole came with the tomatoes/onions on the side so you have the option of mixing it in yourself, if you'd like, so its great for people who dont particularly like tomatos or onions. It also came with a spicy salsa, and homemade chips. For our entrees, we all tried the chicken tacos, fish tacos, and shrimp tacos, and the whole table agreed the fish tacos were the best. They brought our food with 4 different types of sauces: a spicy green one, a white creamy "secret sauce", a sweet tamarind sauce, and a spicy chipotle. It gives your dish some great variety to play with. Highly recommend: mango margarita, grilled fish tacos (a la parilla).

Just @iamteddycastro just hanging with his peeps. Good times.

We stopped in to check out the sky view seat have someone happy hour and food. I have to say the sky view on 3rd level roof is super cool with great 360 views. We order a couple 2x1 happy hour drinks as a group and wanted food. But they don't serve food up there. So just drinks it was. Worked out anyway. We stayed for a bit and enjoyed. #teddycastro ig: @iamteddycastro

This place is a sports bar with a restaurant mixed! The food was amazing. I ordered a carne burrito. The meat was seasoning and it was packed with rice and cheese! We were give complimentary chips and salsa and boy was it delicious! The spicy salsa was yummy. The place gets a little smoky with them cooking food in an open kitchen and the smell can be overpowering. The service was okay! I felt extremely rushed as the waitress gave us our bill without knowing if we were done ordering. Almost like she wanted us gone!

Came here to the rooftop bar during sunset and it was such a nice view! They had live music at around 6pm as well. I recommend the mixed ceviche and the sautéed/grilled fish tacos. It comes with a side of rice, beans, and mango salsa. The tacos are street style sized and come in an order of 4 when you order with corn tortillas and 3 when you order with flour. You have to dine here knowing that this area caters to tourists, thus the prices are more expensive and the food isn't as authentic as you would get in the city. Mateo's doesn't have the BEST food but it's a great option if you're in the area and want a nice view.

If you are visiting Tulum, you need to try Mateo's. It is a great outdoor restaurant with awesome tacos and drinks!

Maria and I shared (a meal unto itself) the veggie kabob. She followed that up with a massive veggie burger and I the fish tacos.

If you're on a tight schedule, definitely give yourself extra time. Service can be slow, especially during busy hours, and it can take a while for food to come out. That said, it's a nice spot if you're not in a rush and want to relax. The food was delicious. I had the peanut butter bowl, and the açaí ingredients were fresh and high quality. I just wish I had tried more items. My husband really enjoyed his breakfast burrito and said it was very satisfying. The latte was just okay. They use syrup from a plastic bottle, which I personally didn't love, so I wouldn't recommend coming here specifically for coffee. Tried a tumeric shot instead and that was yummy! One of the best parts is the location. It was super convenient for us since it was about a block from where we were staying at Azulik and within walking distance of everything cute in the area. The upstairs seating is great for people watching, and the overall vibe is very tropical and relaxed. The servers were okay, not especially friendly, but I get that they probably deal with a lot of tourists every day. Overall, it's a good spot for tasty breakfast bowls and burritos in a great location. Just come with patience and skip the latte.
