I would like to take a moment to thank Mathias and provide a helpful review. My 17 year old follows Mathias on all his social media platforms. Prom was fast approaching. She had a particular wish for her special day and she wanted the one and only Mathias to do her hair and makeup. I was put in a compromising situation. He paid close attention to her prom dress, her accessories and asked her about the style she was going for. To our surprise, he did her hair and makeup all while shooting a video production of it as well. During the process he explained each product and why he was using it. He even took the time to explain the product and how to use it. I never expected this long time celebrity artist to be so humble, down to earth and informative. I was used to the snooty, dressed in black, ego manic artists from the stores at the mall. Each step was explained thoroughly and easy to understand. He made Karina feel like a celebrity on her special day. It only took a few hours and the finished masterpiece was amazing. She looked breath taking. I could not believe that this was my little girl. She looked like a movie star. Kids, parents, teachers, and even the neighbors all complimented her. Both our Facebook pages were flooded with compliments. Karina is not new to getting her makeup done. She has being going to stores and counters since she was a freshmen, but has never gotten such numerous compliments like she did that night. She has never looked so flawless and glamorous in her life. She looked like she could be the next Miss America. He brought out her natural beauty highlighting what she already had The whole experience went like a fine tuned orchestra that delivered the most beautiful masterpiece I have ever seen. He is a true artist that makes his art shine on beautiful canvas. Mathias made her prom special and unforgettable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart! What you did for her was priceless. When people are going to look up a make-up artist on yelp, generally one of the first things they are concerned about is pretense; is this person going to look down their nose at me and judge whether I'm worth their time, are they really going to put in all of their energy and effort into making/my loved one feel as beautiful as their skills can make me? Thank you so much, Mathias! I have been using all of the tips that you gave me during our teaching session in LA.....I'm no longer in a "beauty rut" and I have you to thank for that! I first came across Mathias on YouTube while browsing for bridal makeup and his channel was FULL of great knowledge so he won me over instantly! I found him on other social media networks and followed him as well to keep up with him and one day on Instagram he posted he would be flying to ATL, GA for a weekend and would be doing a seminar or private 1 on 1's! I live in Mississippi but the drive was NOTHING compared to meeting a pro celebrity makeup artist and doing a class with him! When I tell you I was so nervous but I had my friend with me and she really helped calm my nerves! I met Mathias last year on a in-person consultation when he was in S.F. I only had watched his YouTube channel for a few months. Over the last three years I've spent a lot of money and time on trying to find my drag face and persona, and use both to do some occasional performing. Being a person of a certain age, I was beginning to wonder if I was really too old for this newfound artistic expression in my life. I happened to stumbled across Mathias's YouTube channel a few nights ago and I honestly can't stop watching him. He is EXTREMELY knowledgeable in cosmetics and skin care across every shade and skin type (dry, oily, etc.). What astonishes me even more is how he has videos for a vast range of viewers. Whether you are a beginner and looking for basic tutorials or an experienced MUA looking for the season's latest trends -- he has you covered. Probably my favorite thing about him is how he takes time and responds to almost every comment on his channel in a timely fashion. Mathias is a high quality person of exceptional character!! He is a promoter of confidence in self worth. Just his presence and his "others oriented" personality is a huge character builder to those he serves as well as to his peers and colleges. I got married 5 years ago and needed a makeup artist; Mathias was recommended to me by my hairdresser. The instant Mathias and I met, we clicked, he has amazing energy. I absolutely love Mathias and his amazing style and technique. I am a older woman and spent 80% of my time as a child playing outside in the sun. So as one would imagine covering the sunspots and trying to fill in the cracks while trying to keep a natural finish was quite a task. But then I found Mathias on Youtube.
