After my first visit in April, I had a root touch-up and trim with Laurin. Overall, I was really happy with the cut and color. However, I left the salon with hair color stained on my forehead, which wasn't great because I had a couple errands to run on my way home. I mentioned it to Laurin, and she apologized, said it would come off in a few days and that toothpaste could help remove it faster. She also said she'd make a note so it wouldn't happen again next time. Unfortunately, at my appointment on June 22, it happened again. This time, there was enough color on my skin that I was wiping it off with a napkin while still sitting in the chair. Even so, I later discovered additional staining on my forehead, ears, and neck when I got home. What disappoints me most is that I shared this feedback in the text message I received after my appointment and haven't heard from anyone since. Honestly, that's the part that surprised me. Mistakes happen, but after it happened a second time--especially after we had already discussed it during my first visit--I would have appreciated at least an acknowledgment or follow-up. I almost didn't bother writing this review because the whole thing has been such a bummer. I'm only leaving it here as information for anyone who might find it helpful.

My hairstylist, Dina, gives me the best cut and color of my life. Every time I leave I know that my hair looks the best it can, and my color is gorgeous. My color also consistently fades out in a way that looks intentional between coloring, and remains vibrant for many weeks. I've never been happier with my hair. I've also seen other stylists for blowouts between visits and every stylist has been great. Karla cut my niece's hair and was wonderful with her. You can book online, and you can text with the receptionist if you have to change your appointment which is great. The only downside is that there's no dedicated parking, which isn't their fault and I've never had a problem. Just be careful if you go on a street sweeping day.

Imagine that paying over $200 for your hair service which lasted 3.5 long hours and not one single person offer you something to drink! When I brought this up discreetly to the salon manager in hopes of providing constructive feedback, she responded defensively by calling and complaining to the owner Nesha. While the salon has potential, my overall experience was deeply disappointing. My future appointments were suddenly canceled after sharing my feedback LOL! I hope the management reconsiders how they handle client feedback and prioritizes respect and professionalism moving forward.

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Jane. She responded quickly to all my messages, and the booking process was simple. She was easy to reach and answered all my questions. I had my hair and makeup done for a grad photoshoot. Makeup isn't my thing. I can count all the times I've worn makeup on one hand, so I was a little nervous about getting my makeup done professionally. I wanted a very natural look, something that complimented my grad attire yet didn't make me feel too done up. Jane delivered perfectly! She did a very light look that worked stunningly with the two dresses I used for the photoshoot. The hair came out perfect as well! It was set so strongly that I was able to use the curls for an event I had the next day. Despite how well set the curls were, my hair didn't feel crunchy at all, and the hair products had little to no smell, which was a major plus for me! With a week's notice, Jane was able to provide individual hair and make up service for a Bridesmaid. With over 20 year expertise and my personal knowledge of make up, she made me look flawless. She made a beautiful half updo with my short hair come alive. The make up look was crafted with individual eyelashes. I used Jane for make up and hair for my nine year old daughter. I have used her twice. The first time was for a photoshoot and I wanted my daughter to look as natural as possible and Jane did exactly what I wanted. The second time was when my daughter went on stage for a major industry showcase. I wanted my daughter to look natural, but more pronounced for the stage and lights and that make up and hair should stay intact for 5-6 hours. For context, I requested hair and makeup for my civil ceremony/elopement, which cost $700 (imo on the higher side of the quotes I received) and took slightly more than 2 hours day of. 1. From my initial reach out to Julie, she wasn't very responsive and often took multiples day or follow-ups from me before I received an answer via email. At some point, I was worried that she wasn't planning on showing up the day of my elopement. 2. The week before I got my hair and makeup done, I was told that I would be working with a different artist. Though the other artist turned out great, I'm a little disappointed that this wasn't communicated upfront. My impression was that Julie would be working with me and not outsourced to someone else. In addition, while the other artist was great, she didn't have all the information that I shared with Julie (eg. That I'm having a civil ceremony, that the location is a home not a hotel, when I needed to be done by) and I had to re-communicate the information to the artist. I'm so glad I communicated proactively to the artist; otherwise I might not have been ready in time to my civil ceremony!

Before the wedding, I had a trial with Kristie at her salon. I really liked the high quality products she used, and she was very careful and took her time to do a good job. She was collaborative, receiving feedback and trying different things. Her makeup style is natural and polished, highlighted with shimmer and feminine colors. She has an eye for what will look nice when photographed. After the trial, Kristie remained responsive, and I mostly communicated with her over text and email. Her pricing was competitive with or even more affordable than other HMUAs of similar style. We had a large group needing hair and makeup, but she assembled a team of experienced professionals and created a schedule to stagger everyone. My party's hair and makeup looked beautiful; everyone still looked very much like themselves, just enhanced. My groom has a perm, and he was pleased with Kristie's styling which made his hair look full and neat in photos. My hair style was an elegant up-do and the face framing curls were gorgeous. My makeup stayed on all night, even after a lot of dancing. I am so pleased to have found Kristie for my wedding. We look so timeless in photos and felt great because of her and her team!
