So glad I did. it was pretty packed when we got ther, we were able to get a high top table after just a few minutes wait. Ordered the beef tartare and schnitzel. Be forewarned, they don't skimp on the portions here. The tartare was delicious and came with a salad and about a half of stick of butter, which was interesting. Schnitzel was big enough to feed at least two people and left me feeling like I had finally experienced a real local meal. Wine was also great and made me wish I could have stayed there drinking it all night. But alas, I had an early flight to catch the next day...

A few years ago it closed down, which broke my heart but I'm happy to say: they're back! Although their servers (at least back in the day) didn't speak English, they were very friendly and we managed to get our order through quickly. I'd highly recommend their garlic soup and any of their traditional Halusky recipes. The portions are HUGE, but Czechs don't mind you asking for a doggy bag. ;)

Besides Schnitzels, they have a lot of other traditional comfort foods. I had the schnitzel cordon bleu. The meat was perfectly fried and stuffed the ham and cheese was delicious. Don't forget to ask for extra lemon to put on the huge schnitzel! It also comes with a side salad which was average. This restaurant is little off the beaten path and I wouldn't necessary come out of my way to eat here. But if you are staying in this neighborhood, it's a good choice The service here is really friendly and it feels like a family owned business.

It was a Thursday nite so it was kind of quiet when we arrived. The food was the most delicious food I've had in Austria...but that's not saying much. I found the food to be mostly tasteless in Austria. I had the American Cheeseburger with a side salad. The burger was pretty good but the salad was excellent. I asked for the fries to be well done & they were and were very tasty. This meal worked with a delicious beer. Loss of a star because the waiter walked past my table & bumped into my elbow while I was drinking my beer causing the glass to knock against my teeth & jarring my head. He looked back & offered just a tertiary apology for his bump. Not what should have taken place. Food was good however.
