I'm not surprised that Mathis home only has 2 stars. We bought a mattress and a bedroom set for over $13,000. Both nightstands were defective and had to be replaced. We went back to the store 37 days after purchase and noticed they reduced the bedroom suite price . We talked to a manager named Anthony and he said he wasn't able to give us the difference in price because it was over 30 days. Super disappointing. What a way to keep a customer happy . Absolutely the WORST customer service possible!! We purchased the furniture protection and can not get anyone to help us replace the faulty piece despite over THREE WEEKS of calling and emailing. They have not responded to our messages a single time. We last purchased a sofa from Bob Mills with the same protection program. When our dia frame broke, they replaced it within days!! I really wish I didn't feel so strongly to write this. I just left and had the worst experience. I was so upset and annoyed by their sales people I barely even looked at what I came to look for. I was so flustered! They target you before you even have one foot in the door. I got asked questions before I even had my bearings. and they just KEEP following you! I told one lady ( Debra) I didn't need any help.. I turned the corner I over heard her bad mouthing me to her colleague. So frustrating. They treat you like a sales transaction and nothing more. Terrible experience. Store representatives were rude and not knowledgeable. I was never notified about my delivery time, which led to me having to cancel the day of and move the delivery date. I spoke to several people on the phone about the issue and they were not helpful at all, and clearly did not care. Unfortunately, I spent thousands of dollars at this store, but will not make the same mistake in the future or ever recommend this OKC store to anyone. Simon Li "leather" reclining sofa not yet a year old. Drive into OKC sat am to actually speak to someone. Nice lady, nice song and dance. We'll see how it goes but I am not holding my breath. I think they sold me a bonded "leather" sofa -see photos. Bubbled and blistered synthetic looking material under opened areas. Also whiteish colored spots that won't come off. Two days ago I submitted a review. I sent you all the information you asked for, Two days ago and again yesterday. I sent photos of the actual paperwork, along with address , contact numbers. Not a word from anyone! Same exact answers... None. This is actually sickening.. When we moved here 11 years we thought great... There's a nice furniture store. Great selection however just pray nothing goes wrong because you most definitely DO NOT get the same customer service after delivery. So now what? Worst experience ever with the delivery service of Mathis Brothers. Ordered a dresser and night stand through Ashley Furniture online on 1/1/23. Night stand was delivered, no problem. Then the games began. Conflicting emails from Ashley and Mathis on delivery. Mathis says they don't do assembly. Ashley offers that service which I ordered. So this issue caused more problems. Mathis emails from Amber and Sandra, say they haven't been able to reach me by phone to schedule delivery. Ashley gives me a delivery date. Amber and Sandra never called me. No record on my phone of calls from Mathis. More emails from Mathis. Calls from me to them, no reply. More emails telling me to ignore Ashley emails about delivery. Called Ashley on 2/1/23 to confirm delivery for 2/2/23. Yes I was told to expect delivery. You guessed it, no delivery. Another email from Sandra today, she is trying to schedule my delivery. Called her, no one answers, let another message. Email from Ashley today, they have scheduled a delivery for 2/9/23. Once again, conflicting information. By this time I am done with both companies. Through the virtual chat on line with Ashley, I was able, through threats, to get the order cancelled and a refund. I told them I would dispute the credit card charges if they didn't cancel the order. Such frustration could have been avoided if the two companies talk to each other and the customer. I had to do all the calling with no response of any kind. We shall see if I get the refund in full. I did tell the customer service person at Ashley to please not take my rant personally. I bought a home in November and special ordered a sectional and at that time I was told 4-6 weeks possibly 8. Of course Covid made this impossible which I understand and ended up not getting my furniture for over 12 weeks. I unfortunately was without anything until then and wasn't happy but, I understood. The day it was finally delivered was supposed to be a good day but, there were runs and damage on the chase base. I was given the choice of 25% off of that item or for them to remake it. I opted for the remaking of it and would just use the damaged one until then as I was told 12 weeks this time. The day for the new one to arrive came and went and I waited and waited and after 2+ hours I finally called and was told the truck broke down and it would have to wait until the next day. Nice to get a call but, I guess I beat them to it. The next day came and I waited and waited and finally called them myself again and was told they were running late. I waited and finally they showed up and AGAIN there was DAMAGE to the chase. This time it was the large cushion. Someone decided it would be a good idea to tape a velour cushion. Adhesive so deep on the cushion it felt like glue. Completely ruined. The cushion to the old chase wasn't damaged so I kept it instead and there was only a small spot of adhesive on the base. I honestly didn't want to deal with this company again so I was just done! What made this even worse is the customer service acting like no big deal and I am so sorry let me give you a 75.00 gift card. Sure and thank you is what I said because I just am not rude but, seriously that is all you can do??!! 24 weeks and I still have a damaged chase that was almost 1000.00 for just that one piece. I will NEVER buy from this place again. This has been the worst experience ever buying furniture and I have bought my fair share of sofas. I totally understand COVID caused a ton of issues with production, materials etc. But, come on this was just plain carelessness and wasn't caused by anything other than someone being lazy and not doing their job correctly and not giving a crap about their work or others peoples property and honestly why should I pay for their mistakes! Service just sucks. Bought 2 recliners back in April one was delivered the other backorder. Then was discontinued no one bothered to call we drove 50 miles just to find out where it was. They got the money so it didn't seem they needed to contact us anymore. Come to find out it was sitting in Tulsa for months finally get the other chair in July noticed a spring was poking out in Nov called needed do do a warranty on the lazy boy sent the photos and being the holidays I gave it time. Called in Dec 12 come To find out they just deleted the request. Called later a manger was suppose to call back never did. It was not delivered with the other items and I was assured it would be delivered when in. 2 weeks later I call to cancel it and the gal says "it's been in stock, just come get it". First of all no one notified me it's in stock and 2nd it was to be delivered. Fast forward 3 weeks later and my statement is still showing the item as not paid after I canceled it!! I have been buying furniture from Mathis Brothers for 20 years now. Due to an unforeseen circumstance I had to return the furniture I recently bought. The salesman and delivery personnel have always been great. I must say the return process is in need of some serious overhauling. I was told it was in processed. after almost a week I went to the store to find out it hadn't been processed, they needed my card. I paid a portion in cash and was told it will be 7-10 days for a check to be cut and mailed out. It has now been 7 days but they will not tell me anything other than to wait for the 10th day. They wont even tell me if the check has been cut and waiting to be mailed, or if its even been cut at all. UPDATE: Just tried to call Rick and his voicemail says he is out until the 20th. My wife and I have a home in Maryland were most of business is done. We purchased a second home in Blanchard OK and bought furniture to furnish it from Mathis Brothers in OK City. The furniture was delivered 9/7/21 to the front door as they charge EXTRA to bring it inside (this should have been the first warning flag to me). My wife returned to Maryland a day prior to delivery and I stayed. The furniture was delivered and I set it up with my son. In this purchase were TWO Lane Rocker Recliners set up in living room. I flew back to Maryland 9/13/21 and only sat in one recliner. I came back to OK on 10/19 to accept some other orders and have some installs completed. I sat in the same chair as before with no issues. I returned to Maryland on 10/28 . In the mean time NO ONE has sat in the second recliner. My wife and I returned to Oklahoma on 12/27/21 and know one has been in the home. My wife sat in the second recliner and the arm seemed very loose. At the time I didn't think much of it because both of us were busy unpacking delivery's and setting up the house. On 1/5/22, I decided to flip the recliner upside down to see what was going on as my wife flew back on 1/4/22. I found a very cheaply constructed piece of furniture with broken 1/2 inch CDX plywood broken that used staples to hold it together. On the side rails 1/8 inch cardboard was used to hold the foam in to form arm rests. The listed price was $ 723.95 discounted to $ 651.56 because of other purchases. I had also purchased the No Use No Use protection plan for another $ 209.00. I called Mathis Brothers Customer service about this and asked for a replacement. I was told that they would ONLY REPAIR and I had to bring it in. I mentioned to them that I would only be in town for a few more days and what would happen if I couldn't pick it up after the repair for a month or two. I was told I would be charged a storage fee ! So I protested saying Mathis SOLD A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT and I paid for a furniture protection plan and still have to pay more and bring it in for a REPAIR and not a replacement . I spoke with the store manager as my sales person no longer works there and was told there is nothin he could do ! I spoke with customer service again and made sure they had my SALES ORDER # 53A198541 Document Date 9/04/21 correct. They then said they would waive the storage fee (how nice) if I would just call them to let them know. I again explained that I wouldn't be able to pick it up for over 30 days as I wouldn't be in town when the repair is completed. I am Certified Licensed Property inspector, 45 yr. licensed home improvement contractor, Real Estate Agent and never have I had a such poor product backing from a supposed reputable company. When we called they explained it would be a couple days before they could get them out to us. My newlywed wife and I spent our first nights on the ground in our new home, thanks Mathis. When we complained they said they would rush the parts and bring a gift card with them for our troubles. Not only did they forget the hardware for the parts they also forgot the gift card. We finally got the hardware and bed together. We called about this so called gift card and they were like, "oh yea sorry we'll mail it to you, should get it in a week or so." Paid all the extra fees to have my couch delivered. After waiting months for my couch, the couch came in less than good condition with staples sticking out and scratches on the bottom wood boards. While the delivery guys were bringing the pieces in, I noticed one of the legs had a significant chip in it. Before I could say anything, one of the guys was on the ground coloring it in with a marker. BLUF: Look at Ashley Furniture's website before making the purchase! We went shopping for a new dining room table and an accent chair, hoping to catch a great sale on Labor Day weekend. Our salesman was a fellow veteran and gave us a 10% military discount, and a 10% discount for opening an Ashley credit card. We selected a dining set and chair. At first he said he could give us 2 free chairs since the set only came with 4 (It's a 7 foot table). We asked for free delivery and he said sure! Then he said, I can't give you delivery and 2 chairs. So I said, we will pay for delivery since it's cheaper. After all was rung up we were very confused by the items on the invoice. But, we honestly thought we were getting an amazing deal at $2,135.19 so we processed the transaction. Matthis Brothers says that not only will they price match, they will double the difference (it's on their auto message when you call the store and their website). The next day, I decided to do a little market research. I went to Ashley Furniture's website and saw that I could get the dining set with 6 chairs for $1583.99 (in store price $1794), and the accent chair for $269.99 ($402 in store). It had an additional discount of 10% for Labor Day and free delivery to your house. Total w/sales tax on Ashley website was $1789.56 (a difference of $345.63 to Matthis price). That's a 20% difference! After several calls and texts to our sales person he adjusted the price to $1826.20 (still $37 more). Their, we not only match, we will double the difference, certainly did not happen. Here's to hoping that the free delivery was included because the new invoice doesn't state anywhere. I get that they sales people work off commission but it was very misleading to say you get all these discounts, and then overcharge your customers by 20% or more. It is downright shameful, especially when developing comradery by saying you are a vet and making us thing you were truly "taking care of us/hooking us up." read more

Oh boy, long review ahead. My parents have been coming here for quite some time and other than when I was much younger, I've never gone with them. I was in need of a couch/love seat combo or some kind of sectional so my dad and I decided to stop by. My dad knows a sales associate there that has helped my dad in the past, so we requested him when we got there. Unfortunately, he was busy with the grand opening of the new sections that were added, so he left us in the hands of someone he trusted. No names will be mentioned, but the new guy that was put in charge of helping us find what we needed was fairly young, but seemed like he kind of knew what we was doing. So we find what we think we need, and new, young guy decides to tell us about their yearly membership. Both my dad and I hear him say that for $89, they'll ship AND carry/set the furniture up for us. He was very persistent so we decided to go with it since he mentioned we can share this anybody else too. But keep in mind, the main reason we decided to go with it was because we were told they would carry/set it up for us. After a long checkout time with young people who look like they hate their jobs, which seems to be a recurring theme among the reviews from Yelp and my friends, we finally got to go home. A few days later, they bring the furniture, but just drop it off in our garage. I wasn't home, but my dad said the mover guys said moving it in isn't part of the package and that they could only drop it off. Hmm, okay. Maybe just some miscommunication. My dad goes back to the store to see what the problem is. We're told the $89 deal is only to ship furniture, not to carry/set it up. So my dad cancels the membership, we get refunded, and then we pay $50 for shipping and then set up a time for them to come to our house to move it into the house for us. About a week later....yeah, let's stop here for a second. ONE WEEK we had this furniture in our garage. Apparently somewhere in the terms and conditions, we agreed to be another warehouse for Mathis Brothers. This was especially annoying because I try to take care of my car and not leave it out in the sun. Because we became a designated MB warehouse, I had to leave my car out for more than a week. So the movers finally come and then tell us that the furniture isn't going to fit. Okay, no big deal. That's my fault for not measuring out the dimensions well enough. Mover Guy: "So you can pick out a new set and then when we bring the new one, we'll take this old one." Me: "You can't take the old one now? I'd rather it not sit in our garage any longer." Mover Guy: "No, you'd have to pick a new one first." ...okay. Maybe that would mess up their schedule if they took my furniture now since all they were supposed to do was move my furniture into the house. They probably don't have room in the truck. No biggie, I'm fairly understanding. So, we continue to be a MB warehouse for a few more days. Total time was about a week and a half. Had it been any longer, we would have been hit by hail from the recent storms and I can guarantee you, my car would have been in the garage and the furniture outside. Finally, I ended up picking furniture from the MB outlet. It was a great experience and they were the ones that called to set up a time to pick up the furniture. They were amazed to hear that we had to hold onto the furniture until we picked a new set, so they were quick to help us out. Even then, the mover guys were an hour and a half late on a Sunday morning and I had to rush back to church because of that. The only reason this is not a one star is because the movers who brought in the new furniture were great. Also because some of the sales associates at Mathis have been great in the past. Bought a custom sectional and ordered a leather ottoman. They arrived early only 4 weeks later. Nice surprise. Sectional was perfect and as we envisioned, but the leather ottoman came in a color we did not select. After checking the invoice it appeared the color leather received was the one we ordered. Big bummer bc we definitely did not and would not have ordered the color we received. It conflicts with our living room color scheme. Salesman wrote down the wrong color and because they use color names that don't match with normal expectations like Mont Blanc Chianti we did not pick up that it was the wrong color. Well you can imagine...we called immediately to report it was the wrong color but were told sorry but the showroom lights sometimes show a different color than in your living room. I explained that was not what happened. That the salesman wrote down the wrong color and we did not catch it. She had me take pictures of the ottoman and email them to the service dept. we were supposed to hear back from a manager but never did. After a few days I called the service dept and was told they would connect me to the salesman. They did. He was days off and clueless as to why I was calling. He promised to call the next day when he was at work but he did not. It's now been one week and I have an $800 ottoman in the wrong color that I can't use. Disappointing experience to say the least. Eventually heard from a Mgr who must monitor Yelp. He agreed to help us solve the problem and 5 weeks later we have the ottoman we ordered. While I think more effort should have been made the day of delivery as we called immediately, I am happy it was corrected. How Mathis Bros. solves customer complaints is the issue. People make mistakes. Having disgruntled customers go through their original salesperson is BS. They don't have a clue why they are being called on their personal cell while they are not at work, and frankly getting customer and salesperson to work out who made the mistake is ridiculous. There is no motivation for salesperson to say they made a mistake - and 6 weeks after selection there is no proof that he wrote down wrong color, or not. And that's exactly how it worked out and why I took to Yelp. read more

A short while later the chair broke. The back of the chair would fall when lowering. I called and told them it needed to be replaced. They told me to bring it in. I had no means to bring it back and tried to get them to come pick it up, but they refused. I finally gave in and purchased another electric recliner. within months, it also broke. They sent a man to the house who said it needed to be replaced. After a battle on the phone they came to pick it up. After a few more months of "waiting on parts" I asked for a new chair. I was informed that the chair I purchased was discontinued. I agreed to buy a third chair, with a refund of the money spent on the second chair. This time I went with a dual recliner that is activated by a pull handle. Within months one of the pull handles broke. It took several weeks for a tech to come repair the handle, but it broke again shortly afterward. They sent another tech and he repaired the handle. Next, the mechanism inside the chair broke. Their tech returned and said he needed to order a replacement part. After 3 months I called to check on the part, but was told it wouldn't arrive until June. They gave me a fifty dollar coupon to wait until June. I called again July 8th and they said the same thing they said in May, your part will be here by the end of the month. The only reason I gave one star is because it wouldn't take zero stars. read more

I bought a recliner in December 2022. When it was delivered, it looked too big in my space, though I liked the chair pretty well. I called to clarify their 7 day return policy, to make sure of what was the latest day I could change my mind. The lady I spoke to said, "we can give you 30 days actually, to be sure, and we will just enter it as a pending return". I was so glad they did that, because I did decide it was just too large. I went to the store and chose a different chair, this time a more expensive lift chair. When the lift chair was delivered, the delivery man fiddled with it quite a bit. Something seemed a little off, and he repeatedly took the upper half off and reattached it. Finally , he said, "well if you have any problems with it, just call and they'll come out." The guys left, and I got in my chair. The first time I sat in in and began to recline, the chair went "pop pop pop", and a white piece of plastic flew out from underneath. I noticed the chair didn't look completely level after that. I called the customer service number for the delivery, and even though the guys JUST LEFT, they could not locate or call them to come back! They said they'd send someone out a few days later. When the day came for the man to check the chair, he agreed it wasn't sitting level. He couldn't determine where the piece that had flown off came from, but took it with him. He put in an exchange for a replacement. So I've waited now another 5 days to get the replacement, and it came today. After the problems with the first one, I'm just hoping this replacement is going to be fine, but because I'm uneasy, I called customer service to ask if they could again give me the 30 days to possibly (and hopefully NOT...return. The lady that answered was not friendly at all. She kept repeating, "no, the limit to return is 7 days, and always has been. I explained how they had offered 30 days the first time, and how I am uneasy as the first lift chair had issues. She just kept saying. "Well it's 7 days. So you want to go ahead and return it? Because I don't know who told you 30 days, but we don't do that." (Ummm...yes, you did!!) Ugh! I'm soooo mad right now! I'll say that my sales guy was awesome...so friendly and helpful. That's been the only good thing about all of it! UPDATE: I messaged my sales guy and HE called customer service and got a 30 day extension to return. Again, he has been great to work with! So, I'm again hopeful...but that customer service lady sure did detract from my experience, and it may be a minute before I shop here again. read more

I came inside with a specific item that I needed, unfortunately there wasn't anything close to what I was looking for on the floor, or on the website that could be ordered. But I had the pleasure of being helped by an angelic woman named Donna. She was so kind & helpful, her kindness made my day. She went the extra mile talking to me about the product I needed & my trip here wasn't even close to a waste after visiting with her. Extremely disappointed with your customer service, I have purchased all my furniture from Mathis Brothers, I purchased furniture protection and I have being trying to get some help, they start by saying because of covid we are experiencing longer waits, I called a week ago to get my reclining chair fix, by the way, the furniture is only 3 months old and already broke down, right now I'm on the phone waiting for someone in customer service to talk to me, I have been waiting for 17 minutes, finally someone answered, and they tell me I have to wait for two more weeks to get someone to come to the house. I can tell you that Mathis Brothers do not care for loyal customers or for any customers for that matter, after you leave the store you're on your own, good luck future Mathis Brothers customers to be. read more

My wife found a recliner on sale today with a tag on it that said "clearance" for $489. She sent me some pictures and we agreed to purchase the chair. Upon letting her sales person know he removed the tag and said he would be right back and upon returning he informed her that the chair was sold?! He said if it is on the floor with no tag it had been sold but THIS CHAIR HAD A TAG and I have the picture she sent me to prove it. She then asked to speak to a manager and upon doing so was told that there was nothing that could be done! PISS POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and I will tell every single person that I know forever!!!!!!!!!! We bought furniture from Mathis 10 years ago they were recliners, we still have them the leather has worn on them. The mechanism on them is still smooth working great. Padding and stuffing still good. We bought new recliners and a loveseat. In the store the padding and stuffing looked good, on delivery day the recliners back padding was lacking so much that it wrinkled the leather material horrible. It doesn't even fill out the material there. The mechanism on the manual one sounds like it's clunking and very hard to push back and go up. My husband's electric chair quit working 4 times now in a 2 month period. When it's on the battery mode and goes down at 50% or less it quits. It has to be reset. I have always loved the Lazyboy recliners but it seems all they want to do is charge you more and give you less. Very Disappointed read more

My husband & I will buy our furniture elsewhere after today. We purchase all of our furniture from Mathis, thousands worth, but for the last time. A few months ago, we purchased a beautiful blue, swivel-chair with 3 legs for my vanity. The back leg broke with me in it, with pointy dangerous pieces poking out. Not only did this chair break, but it also scratched and made a mark in my wall that I have to get fixed now. 3/21 We drive an hour to Mathis, are assured we will be taken care of and go home with a new chair same day. We even make plans to come back with sales team and purchase a rug when we exchange our chair, which we did even though that wasn't the truth. $500 I regret spending. Now, to the Distribution Center, kid tells us he will try to repair it and let us know. Wait, what? We were told we could exchange it. I don't want that chair to break again. He runs off to his supervisor, 30 or so minutes of waiting. He comes back, and assured us, "we know we can't fix it, but we have to follow policy and keep it for now". And suggested calling us the following Tuesday with an update. Uhm, we live an hour away and now have to come back, they offered a "gas voucher" we have yet to see. 9 days. No update. I call today and spoke to a, Daniella. She was short, defensive, told me that the kid we talked to no longer works there and if I don't come get my chair it will be, "disposed of". I asked her how many days I have to pick it up and I hear, "click". She hung up on me. I called to speak to her supervisor to be told, there's nothing they can do. I get the same "fixed" chair. Why would I want that chair?! I just want one that won't break or mess up my wall. Why Mathis will you not give an unhappy customer store credit? Your furniture broke in an unreasonable amount of time and we get punished for it? No thanks! What I feel bad about is your nice sales people are the ones that actually suffer from your awful distribution customer service and your "supervisors" lack of communication of customer satisfaction. read more

We have waited 17+ weeks for a delivery that was supposed to arrive in 4-8 weeks (which seemed like a long time to begin with) When trying to call to set up the delivery we waited on the phone for around an hour in order to get the delivery set up. Just hopeful that the pieces all arrive in good shape. read more
