Students and parents sign a contract that states the student will follow the rules and complete all schoolwork. This school requires parental support. The expectations are high, and the academics are rigorous. Children learn, the teachers don't have to waste instruction time on disciplining behavior problems. Children who choose to misbehave are returned to their zoned school. CTWalker has a family atmosphere, parents are welcomed, the PTO is active, the teachers are excellent and the principal rocks! When I initially called I spoke with a lady who told me that this course was a week long course and that I could pay extra to have the driving test administered there. That way at the end of the week my son would be able to get a drivers license if he passed. I thought..why not? I am thinking back to HS where you do both classroom and driving instruction each day. I tried to ask as many questions as I could, but the lady seemed put out that I was asking them and wasn't really forthcoming with anything other than answering what I asked. The week before my son was to attend, I was then told that no, the first week is instruction only and then you have to schedule to drive the following week. So I asked, this is a two week course instead of one? She told me it was 6 hours of driving, but it has to be scheduled, so more like an additional 2-3 days. On the day we drop my son off I am handed paperwork. I have to list all the days and times of availability for the next 6-8 weeks. What?! I was told a week, then a week and 6 hours.. now its 6-8 weeks before they can be scheduled to drive? The miscommunication is unbelievable. So unprofessional.
