St.Louis Park ECFE is really great from the child education and parent play time to parent education time and topics. I have learned to be a more self aware parent and we share parenting topic from birth to teens in a small group environment lead by the parent educator. In play time we play with our kids and teach the parents to get down on the childrens level creative play. I give huge credit to Cynthia Peterson she is the parent educator I have been in class with. She gives great ideas and shares many nuggets of wisdom that I find myself using every day as I parent my children. If you have not done ECFE I would suggest it as the best thing you can do for a young family or family with young children.

Needless to say, this transition has been nothing short of amazing for both my son, and myself! The staff at River Valley Montessori are passionate professionals who welcome everyone with a friendly face. The classrooms have current toys that are unique to the Montessori community and are clean and spacious. The entire experience for us has been seamless. He also has adjusted to his environment, showing developmental and social growth of milestones and concepts already within his first month! The price is affordable and fits our budget well in comparison to other nearby competitors and they offer spontaneous promotions for incoming families - which helps financially!! This school is great or terrible depending on what you are looking for in a school. It has one of…read morethe best educational programs I've ever seen, with teachers with doctorates and extensive experience in their field. Their curriculum includes Latin, Drama, Humane Letters, and Multivariable calculus. The unfortunate part is the school's emphasis on the Catholic faith. Most of the students belong to the school's overseer, People of Praise, and have known each other all their lives. This is very hard for a child outside the faith to come into. A sibling and I both attended here and both struggled to make friends. The social aspect of school is impossible to achieve here without being part of the Catholic faith. The school also is deplorably low in minorities and the differently-abled. Any child with a learning disability or mood disorder will have a hard time here and find little help, not because the teachers don't care, but because they aren't trained to handle those sorts of issues. Again, this is a great school academically. Many of the alumni become National Merit Scholars and go to Ivy League schools. The education is broad, but advanced, and the teachers are incredible.
