So we were more than grateful when he decided to accept our son for one-on-one tutoring. Thomas was behind in his reading skills when he first came to Mr. Summers. He was reading slightly below his grade level. Now, thanks to his tutoring, my son is reading above his grade level. We were also very pleased that Mr. Summers was so understanding and generous with his time. He was always willing to help Thomas finish his assignments, even when Thomas needed a few extra minutes after his time with him ended. Mr. Summers has a unique capacity to understand kids very well. He is skilled at differentiating teaching to challenge and support students of all learning levels. He paid close attention to my child's social and emotional needs as well. He is very empathetic and kind and gentle with his students, and I would find myself listening in on the class, just because he was so sweet and funny and so very kind. If he was offering tutoring services here in San Francisco, both of my children would be enrolled. I cannot say enough wonderful things about him as a person and as a teacher.

Most recently, you helped us nail additional accommodations she needed to fully access the educational program at a medical assistant college and she is getting As and Bs despite her ADD and cognitive processing disorder which was misdiagnosed by medical and teacher profession until she reached MIDDLE S SCHOOL! Before that she was failing in math and science and spending countless hours every night trying to learn in a way that was unsuited for HER. With accommodations that you helped us fight for in place, she broke the old mold and got the highest class grade on a 9th grade Algebra test. Sadly her nice personality does not take away from the fact that 12K spent did not translate into better grades; to the contrary, my daughter got the worst grades of her entire life right after KPLC. Also, turns out that there was a miscommunication with Kaiser. They only do hearing tests, not testing for Central Auditory Processing Disorder. So, I am going to go to my alma mater Sac State for CAPD testing for $200.00 rather than the $750.00 the woman Carol Hess recommend. Big savings for something my daughter probably doesn't have anyway.

It's clean, modern, well lit, and the people are friendly. Occasionally a group of loud annoying people show up to hang out and make noise, but on average it's a great place to study. I've noticed some complaints on Yelp about the quality of the education. I went to a private school for my undergrad degree and it was academically challenging. My graduate degree (MBAM) at UOP is *hard.* Fortunately, the school provides tutors in many areas, and I've had great experiences with them. You also have the option of taking a class locally if you are in the online program which I am in. This is great for students like me who prefer lectures when taking math-related courses. I wish I took Statistics locally but you know what they say about hindsight. I love the flexibility of online education but it requires a lot of self-motivation. The only reason I left a star off my review is that the Elk Grove learning center doesn't have any math tutors which are the ones I need. I drive to the Gateway Oaks learning center for my math tutoring.

We're from the suburbs, so the cramped space was a little getting used to. Education: This gets 5 stars!! The instructors worked magic. My son hated math, but after the summer, he had such a great head start and math came easy to him and loves math now. I was worried that they were rushing him, but they assessed him and kept on pushing him and made it fun for him to learn. He picked up new science and skills that we didn't expect. On Friday's they go on field trips. It is usually $10 more, but my son loved these field trips. Fun activities are on Fridays and do do art, science, and music throughout the day. Other than location, the only thing I don't like about this place is that the kids walk to the park during the day and in the summer time, it's super hot and this is probably why I won't put my 4 year old here this year. We'll just have my son come here in the summer. During the school year, I understand they have before/after school and they will drive the kids/pick up the kids.
