Exceptional College level Calculus Tutoring - Highly Recommended!…read more We first reached out to Ashley, who set my son up with David Lazada. As a college student struggling with calculus, my son was extremely worried and not feeling confident about the class. He struggled with the course early on in his first year of college and ended up having to drop the course. Because the course is a required course for his degree plan, he had to enroll again as a senior. He took the course as a summer course, which made it even tougher due to the condensed time frame. From the first session, David had a remarkable ability to connect well with our son, break down complex concepts and explain them in a way that is both understandable and engaging. David was patient, encouraging, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our son grasped the material. He was able to tailor the sessions to our specific needs and learning style, which made a significant difference in my son's confidence and performance. David committed time daily, and even weekends to help ensure our son's success. I received updates often as a parent, and was able to ask questions at any time throughout the period of time he was getting help. Thanks to David and Tutor Revolution, our son was able to achieve a passing grade, that he really did not think was possible. If you're looking for a knowledgeable, dedicated, and effective calculus tutor, check out Tutor Revolution! They are truly exceptional!

QA prepares you for the classroom 100% but getting you there 2% preparation is offered…read more I have many friends who have chosen Quality Act (QA) to get their Alternative Certification (Alt Cert). QA offers training seminars given by trainers from Region 10 (which are EXCELLENT) in their summer institute program. If you have an interest in pursuing teaching in a general area (ei: math, science, s.s., english, general elementary, etc.) I highly recommend QA. The ladies at the office are sometimes short-tempered and quite blunt. No one there is going to "hold your hand" while your completing your certification. Best advice is to ASK ASK ASK and then research on your own if you have any questions as to what tests to take, what to study, where to register, what is the timeline for completing the Alt Cert, etc. QA has about 75-100 candidates each summer. They are really not hurting for money as some may think. Do the math $4500 x 100? You get the idea? I do believe QA is the best out there out of all Alt Cert Programs because it's local and you have a people physically there training you to be a teacher. That being said..... if you are trying to get your alt cert in a bilingual area be careful. QA will be of great help with the training seminars but as for taking the exams or scheduling them, you're on your own. QA has NO STUDY MATERIALS, they will send you to the local library and even tell you to go online to purchase study materials (what happend to the $4500?). I have a few friends who got their bilingual alt cert from QA and the going got tough for them... One very dear friend of mine had to take a college course for one of the bilingual exams, hired a tutor, and PURCHASED a study guide from the ETS Store. This after QA called her in for a "meeting" regarding her true intent on becoming certified. The Nerve! Another friend stated QA made them feel like it was their fault they hadn't been offered a job yet in the many one-on-one "meetings" they had. I had the same personal experience. I was blessed and finally did get an offer only because a principal had a teacher withdraw unexpectedly and school had already begun. QA puts a lot of pressure to get the money up front, I want to confirm truth to this and explain why. Before you can attend their summer institute program you must have passed the exam in the area in which you are teaching. Hence, you have to pay for the test on ETS website in order to register to take it. And then, you have to pay for the summer institute program before you can attend it. Which makes sense.. nothing is free in this world. So yes there is pressure to pay upfront but that is how the Alternative Certification Timeline works period. QA is very good in letting you know how much and by when payments are needed to stay on schedule in order to teach in the upcoming school year. And you don't pay EVERYTHING upfront.. about $325/mo is payroll deducted in your 1st year if you get hired. I think if you are not hired you are just out the money for their summer program (about $1000)... Good luck to all of you, especially bilingual teachers who have no idea what the process of becoming a teacher is. My real recommendation (looking back I wish someone had said this to me) find out what are ALL of the necessary tests to get certified and take them ASAP. If you do not pass a test you cannot retake it for 60 days and tests must be taken in a certain order. With no study materials it is not easy to pass a test. QA prepares you for the classroom 100% but getting there 2% preparation is offered. And yes it's true, QA will send you to every school in Irving to interview even if there is no slot for you. (My guess is QA and Irving ISD have a general agreement, this is only speculation). This review was given without bias to the best of my ability. Good luck folks!
