My fiance found Matt online when looking for someone to photograph his proposal. Matt was very flexible and braved the 7 degree weather and snow to stand out on the pier at the Rivera waiting for Blake and I to arrive. This past December, I contracted Matt to capture my proposal to my girlfriend (now fiancee) at the Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, WI. I found him online, so didn't know anything except that the pictures on his website looked amazing. Turns out, I couldn't have picked a better photographer if had lined 1000 up and had them audition for the gig! From our first conversation, Matt was incredible. He's professional, thoughtful, detail-oriented, and a truly nice person. I shared my proposal plan with him, he made some GREAT suggestions that were helpful but not at all pushy, and then we implemented. The plan required Matt to photograph the entire proposal without being obvious ... and I was proposing in the middle of an empty, snow-covered golf course! Not only did he trudge through the bitter cold and snow, but he was so inconspicuous that my fiancee didn't even realize he was taking pictures of us the entire time! From start to finish, Matt Mason was absolutely incredible to work with. We were initially drawn to hiring him because we noticed he doesn't over-edit his photos. Then, we had our first call with him and were blown away by how organized he is and how invested he is in trying to create what we wanted for our special day. We were blown away by seeing Matt Mason Photography's "Same-Day Wedding Video" at a friend's wedding years ago, and knew we had to work with Matt Mason Photography for our wedding!! We had the absolute pleasure of working with Jake Schnake and Ben Foster as our wedding photographers. Jake helped us through the planning process of our wedding. He was professional, personal, and talented--a wonderful representation of the company. Our engagement photo session was included with our photography package. It was an awesome way for us to get to know Jake and use some of the engagement photos for our Save the Dates and guestbook! Jake helped us with our wedding day timeline and organized many details of our day. He was always so quick with communication and to offer recommendations. Matt and his team photographed my wedding in October at Lake Lawn Resort in Delavan, WI and they did a amazing job! They exceeded my expectations. They are true professionals and went above and beyond with everything. Let's first talk about organization, communication and professionalism. They met with me initially to understand my vision and needs. They communicated with me throughout the entire process and came up with an initial timeline and were very accommodating when I wanted to make changes and explained why certain timelines were originally entered, but allowed me to be part of the planning and decision making process. They included an engagement photo session in our package so that we could practice the different poses and Matt had very helpful tips for what I was looking for and we decided on a game plan for the day of the wedding so things would run smoothly. They were ALWAYS on time and I never had to wonder what the next steps were because they sent emails throughout the process with reminders and follow-up. During the day of the wedding, they were prompt, professional and handled all the hiccups that can happen on a wedding day. My dress needed to be altered so that ate into the first twenty minutes of our photography session and they handled it like champs and behind the scenes were communicating with my husband and the wedding planner to make changes in the schedule and provide transportation throughout the resort. They really know their stuff! They captured such amazing photos and moments that I will treasure forever. We had a link to a highlight of our photos within a few hours, our video within a few days, our final link to our photos in a few days and our photo album in a few weeks. That is unheard of! We got to do an engagement session with Matt which was perfect since we've never been professionally photographed before, so it for sure helped doing this before the big day! He was extremely rude to me and my family, to the point were I was left crying and feeling worthless. Matt is a true professional and a phenomenal photographer. We used him to capture our wedding day and - no other way to say it - he nailed it. In preparation for the event, he worked with my wife and I to make sure that all details were planned out. We even figured a contingency plan in the event of rain (a plan which we had to utilize but still got A+ photos). When the big day came, Matt was decisive yet collaborative and he was communicative without overwhelming us with any of the minor details. He wrangled us, our wedding party, and hundreds of family members and friends while keeping his composure and professionalism all the way through. Later on, in the midst of the reception, Matt hooked up a highlight reel of our entire wedding to the AV system, using footage that was taken mere hours beforehand, to the shock and delight our guests. Not to be overlooked - the photos and videos turned out incredible. I should also point out that we were very budget-conscious when planning our wedding. If you're reading this, you may be shopping around for photographers. I can say that Matt is certainly not the cheapest guy or gal on the market, but he is worth every single penny and then some. Between our full-time jobs, working with other vendors and everything else involved in planning a wedding in 6 months, life was very hectic for my husband and me. Matt provided detailed timelines, useful tips for getting the best out of our photo sessions and we received regular communications. Working with Matt Mason was by far, the easiest of all vendors. We had Matt, Jake and Ben shoot our wedding. It was perfect - our team was awesome, they each displayed different talents and creativity throughout the day! I didn't have to worry about missing any good shots. They did all the thinking and planning for us. And again, the spontaneous creativity was amazing to watch and be part of. Matt, Jake and Ben were very patient and worked well with my chilly bridesmaids, impatient groomsmen and our young flower girl and ring bearer. I don't know how to start a word to express my thank you to Matt! He is an amazing and incredible photographer. My fiance and I were almost giving up searching for a photographer until we found Matt. I was very impressed by the his work on his website at first glance. We realized immediately he is the one that we are looking for.
