One of the things that sticks with me from our sessions is his gentle prodding to get me to understand and describe how I physically feel when talking about upsetting or uplifting emotional feelings. Pathlight residential is one of the worst things that has happened to me. Right when I arrived they…read morequickly changed me onto a different medication. This medication completely ruined me. I felt horrible and not like myself. My mood got worse and so did my symptoms. I started having nightmares every night and couldn't sleep. At one point they couldn't handle my symptoms anymore and transferred me to northwestern memorial hospital where I left with a lot of trauma due to my experience. Not only did pathlight not listen to my concerns but they also made sure that the er would keep me there by using things I said during my therapy and completely twisted my words so I had to go inpatient. After fives day of inpatient I discharged myself from pathlight as I am better of at home then in that environment. Also The new medication they put me on caused me to get pneumonia a very rare side effect. When I called to ask for help from the person who PRESCRIBED it they said they couldn't do anything since I discharged. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I left feeling worse and with new trauma. I would stay away if your not the "average depression or anxiety case."

When asked for options, the same repetitive aversive answers are given to try to beat you into following regulations at any and all cost even if its detrimental to treatment. I was "treated" to a litany of strange comments, passive-aggressive behavior and a very judgemental attitude. One day she told me she was angry with me for saying something about a personal issue of mine. Huh? I thought the sessions were about me, not her. And it's supposed to be safe to speak about any topic. When I confronted her about this she finally agreed it was improper, then the next session she decided to revisie our fee agreement in a punitive way. Wow, a passive-aggressive therapist. Great. Shortly thereafter she told me it was my job to watch the clock each session so we ended on time. Seriously? That's the therapist's job - not the client's. (I refused). Then she told me one day that when I was depressed it was bringing her down. Huh? I don't even know what to say to that. Therapists are paid to treat mood disorders so this was highly unusual and offensive. It was like she was coming apart at the seams. There is plenty more to say but the bottom line is that she violated the first rule of healthcare professionals everywhere: "first do no harm" and for that reason she gets this one star review.
